I loved Syndicate sooo much. I even played Syndicate Wars, although I never completed it. The gameplay is pretty old-school though. Not just the squad-based missions, but also the between-mission corporation management. In that way it had a lot in common with Themepark and, yes, X-COM. If they make another it must also keep the atmosphere. I can think of no other game that perfectly captures the Bladerunner/Ghost in the Shell cyberpunk vibe. It would be all too easy to mess that up by trying too hard to be all cool and post-Matrix.

I don't see what you're still arguing about Chris. Cigol said Crysis looks fine. He was just using a compare and contrast; the approach to graphical style is similar to TF2. It is different to Crysis. That's all. No value judgments. Although I'm interested why you're is suddenly the Defender of Crysis. Are Crytek friends of yours or something? Who the hell is making all these songs with samples from the Qu'ran in them?!!?!?!?!?! and then licensing them to video games? Dammit.

OK I stuck with it and my ire is dissipating, mainly I think because I found a good server where the chyances of one team vastly out-noobing the other are smaller than most. However they only have three maps on rotation, and I want more. Can anyone recommend a good server with all of the official maps? Also, this is the best thing ever!!

I had come to the same conclusion about the Little Big Planet art direction, as is mentioned in ep2. It's fantastic, because the arts-and-craft approach means that everyhting looks equally cobbled together, no matter if it is done well or badly. It takes people's aesthetic sense out of the equation, focussing purely on function. And it still all looks great

I think the reason for that is perhaps for the first time ever a game creator has spoken about the subtext. Most games, if they have a subtext at all, keep it backstage for fear of scaring away people who "just want to be entertained, y'know?" Actually being man enough to state the philosophical stuff as even being an important part of the games creation is an important step forward in Games as an Artistic Medium.

In any case, I think the fear is that without him, the sequal will focus on recreating the finger without the things it was pointing at.

All those explanations in the links still fail to provide a situation in which the exact phrase "which begs the question..." should be used. They all refer to "begging the question" which is not a wording I have ever used. This suggests to me that it's a load or pretentious shite and I should carry on using the phrase as-is.

Haha,for a second I thought that was real I enjoyed the first STALKER game, so I will probably give this one a try once the price drops a bit and I have some other big releases out the way.

Not all of it, but a large portion of it apparently. It's weird. I mean I'm really looking forward to logging in again and seeing what achievements I have... but in another way aren't achivements what RPG's about anyway? Aren't character levels and experience points and loot all types of achievemtn anyway? This addition seem to be some kind of... meta achievemnts. What next? Achievements for collecting all the achievement-collection achievements? Or maybe just bonus gold and XP.

It's called Cthulu, but from the trailer looks more like Shadow over Innsmouth. TBH calling your movie just "Cthulu" (not even Call of Cthulu or something) is a bit pretentious and asking for trouble ... ie if Cthulu is in it, he/it will be dissapointing, if it's not then why use the name?
