Kind of. They conflated the ethics teacher and the lieutenant and called him Radczeck (or something).

Rasczak's Roughnecks! Hunh! (I went with the book version).

It was NeoGaf in the intarwebs with a fatpipe. Clue! (or Cluedo as we say in proper countries)

I would be slightly more harsh, and say that while indie games like Passage and 'art games' have the right intention, and are going in an excellent direction that deserves and needs to be explored, they have yet to actually achieve the same psychic weight as meaningful literature. On the podcast; I didn't feel there was anything strange about it. A thoroughly excellent and slick episode I thought.

Now see like we discussed earlier, the Ghostbuster outfit works for me (disregarding the actual models). But the "Shexy Holmes" one just causes massive clashing of my mental gears. It's like trying to make a sexy outfit starting with the traditional yorkshireman outfit of cloth cap, tartan slippers, string vest and cricket pullover. Also please note kind readers, that we couldn't come up with any good sexist comments for the Holmes outfit. After the predictable "I'd let her smoke my pipe" we foundered with "I'd let her solve my mystery" and then fizzled out with "I'd let her chase my Moriarty".

danjw. I signed up a while ago and then forgot about it. Doh!
-
I wasn't going to say that because I know you and some other thumbs live there. But yes, I know
-
Also I forgot that I can't sign up to gamesindustry.biz because the automated system only accepts pre-approved email roots. Apparently you are only allowed to look for a job if you already have one. Fuckers

This will make us the natural choice of liaison when our new alien overlords choose to officially contact Earth!

The main difference is that they are only half RTS. The other half is a turn-based game on the world map, with all kinds of political options as well as military ones. Almost Civ-like maybe.

tell me about it. I'm having to apply to jobs in the Midlands now. THE MIDLANDS!

The jumping animation stood out for me. All those lovely graphics and then the wooden-knee'd wizard wizard leaps 40 feet into the air. Perhaps he is casting 'improved levitation'. Very minor nitpick though.

There didn't seem much point in telling it properly, since the punchline was already known. In any case the real life event is easily explained by an able-bodied person transporting a wheelchair for some reason, perhaps for a disabled relative or because it needed to be returned to the hospital after they got better. Person stops off at the pub instead, forgets about it. It doesn't seem that big of a mystery to me. I'm full of fun today, I am

Idle Thumbs 8: Green Lantern is the Blindfolded Fool
DanJW replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Yeah the interruptions are getting better too (as in less frequent). It sounded like Chris put his foot down at one point in order to finish what he was saying, so well done there. Someone has to play Chairman after all. But a little bit of messing about is fine and adds to the atmosphere. Length is about right for me too; I wouldn't trim it below 60 mins. -
There's a good joke along those lines, about a guy that makes friends with another guy in the pub, they both get very drunk and he offers to help him get home. He finds he can't walk, puts it down to drunkeness since they guy can't talk by this point either, and so drags him to the address in his wallet. Wife at the door comments on him forgetting his wheelchair again. It's the way you tell 'em.

Sorry, no I'm not slagging it off at all. It sounds great in fact. I just think that the mechanics involving momentum and fluid movement in Mirrors Edge are a great fit for Sonic and much closer to the feel of the original 2D games than any of the 3D Sonic attempts to date; and they should have started thinking along those lines a long time ago. Sorry to derail your thread. Please carry on. What's the story like? Is it still retarded? If so can you easily ignore it?
-
Dear Sonic Team (or whoever makes Sonic games these days) Please please please please can you fix it for yourselves to play Mirrors Edge? Then go away and have a think.

Reading youtube comments is much like lifting up a large rock and becoming engrossed in the busy little chaos unfolding mysteriously and slimily in front of you.

When I worked in QA, we had an initiative from IT to replace IE6 with Firefox (obviously IE was still there somewhere, if you knew where to look, but most testers didn't... computer literacy was not a requirement for foreign language testers....) Anyway, it turns out that almost all the online bug reporting databases used by our clients would only work with IE6. So It had to convinced to roll back the changes. Just one of example of the wonderful joined-up thinking enjoyed by that company.

Yeah since Burning crusade, in fact since An'Qiraj, the storyline has had the Alliance and Horde working together more and more. The war barely exists any more, or at least has been put on hold. And yes that 'language' barrier does add a certain charm to interacting with the opposing faction. Kind of like how Chris and Jake described LittleBigPlanet in the podcast- dealing with random people who can actually express themselves through words is often disappointing. Emotes alone feel more pure and 'in-character'. Besides it's not like I help them very often. Part of the appeal is how rarely it actually happens. When worlds collide and all that. Anyway I have calmed down a bit now and last night I was playing with an 'appropriate' level of PvP-ing. Current pet hate: Death Knights with names like 'Deathtauren". Although frankly I have always had large levels of disdain for poor character names. Can't be bothered to think up a name because you are just playing for the social and meta-game? Fine, but I'm still going to ridicule you.

I get more pleasure out of the rare occasions when I can stand toe-to-toe with an alliant and just give each other a nod and a wave. This normally happens around neutral quest NPCs - although I have noticed more alliants now gank me while I am talking to such an NPC and then they run away never to be seen again. Fucking righteous of you fucking paladins. Also fun is being thanked after actually saving an alliant from some mobs. That's cool. But yes I am in a foul mood and have had a complete sense of humour failure over the above mentioned paladins and gnomes. I suck at PvP so my chances of defeating a paladin are minimal (it's not the bubble... it's the stun. It shouldn't happen to a rogue!) However, all gnome clothies should fucking beware this season

I think I know what you mean Chris. It's as if editorialising and opining within the report is fine as long as you say it is paraphrasing.

An excellent offering! We shall place it at the altar of The Thumb. Although it does seem to break Google Chrome. But never mind! It's probably my fault.

The wonderful British tourism industry! Basil Fawlty would be proud.
