Oh man you can screw with those guys so much, especially if you don't mind picking up some evil points.

Awww I find that gives me a strange warm feeling inside. You other meanies leave him alone. At least someone found the ending completely pleasing

Hmm, well the map authoring tools won't be too much use if you can't test them in the game I'd suggest getting Counter-Strike Source (if you don't own any other Source engine games) and start learning the Hammer editor with that. Then when you can get L4D you will know what you're doing with regards to mapmaking. Best of luck!

Does anyone have some way I can hack my game of L4D in such a way that it prevents me from playing public games? Because I keep on giving in to temptation and having a go, and having my afternoon completely ruined. I really, really hate the human race as representated by the average random L4D player. After fianlly finding a game that was actually going along more or less ok, 2 players quit my team when the other one has a go at them, then the new players instantly vote me off. seriously? AHGHGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!FUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!! Since no one on my friends list is playing any more I think I might be better off un-installing it

Ludo-narrative resonance eh?

THAT... is actually an excellent idea.

SO anyway, movies... I saw Paranormal Activity. It was OK. There were a couple of scary moments. On the whole though the build-up is extremely slow, (without the character development being all that engrossing) and the ending cuts things short just as they are starting to get interesting. On the whole, extremely over-hyped. Blair Witch Project was better, as indeed was the McPherson Tape (look it up, quite entertaining in fact).

I've had L4D based dreams, but I can't remember them clearly enough to relate. Not video games related, but I recently had a very odd dream where I was Arthur Dent. On board the Heart of Gold. Where I was viciously attacked by a small delusional cleaning robot (which thought it was a goblin or a rabid hobbit or something). Mind you, I only guessed that it was a cleaning robot since I found it in the cupboard under the stairs. The Heart of Gold had no stairs of course, but the annoying talking door told me that it was the door to the cupboard under the stairs and I had to take it at its word. The crazy robot trying to chew at my neck was more irritating than scary, but it still woke me up, to find myself in a strange state that part alarm and part peevishness. Stupid robot.

You seem very self-aware Kroms,a good thing. Brave of you to share, even on the internet. Best wishes from Thumbs :tup :

But a joystick is not a gun? Oh wait! Is it because cocking... cocking is.... Nope it's gone again. I think we will have to resign ourselves to the fact that this is the cleanest and most innuendo-free thread ever on Thumbs.

I forgot that season 6 of House had started. And fuck me if the opening feature-length episode isn't a fantastic, sublime piece of television. Breaking the format really worked (and indeed the episode is named 'Broken'). Now to watch episode 2... err it's called 'Epic Fail' and starts inside a computer game. Hmm....

Kieron Gillen lays the smack down beautifully upon MW2 cheap shock tactics.

Like a shrine to Zelda in someone's basement?

Always keep a surprise daughter hostage for this purpose. Ooh we're all full of good questions. All the firearms I have used had the safety on the left, near the cocking mechanism*, but those were all rifles and machine guns. I don't see why handguns would be different though. *hours of fun pretending to swear: You forgot the cocking mechanism!

What? Do you know nothing about proper hold-up procedure? The next step is clearly to shoot a bullet into the ground near their feet, or possibly at some inanimate object near their head if you're really badass. As for the other thing - a few less pounds of pressure needed on the trigger will mean a fraction of a second less to fire and greater accuracy. A big thing is made of having a hair trigger - if only because it is easy to fire before you actually mean to (see The Wire!) Good firearm safety requires that you do visually check when you first pick up the weapon. But if you are familiar with a sidearm then you could probably check by touch.

"The SABOTEUR" or "The Game That Kingz Has Been Asking For Since GTA III"
DanJW replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Video Gaming
Hey they could have just made him American. I imagine he started out as an English resistance officer, then became Irish because it's almost the same right?!! and in order to appeal more to the American market and so as not to get him confused with the bad guys, most of whom will have English accents. I don't have a problem with him being Irish though, except that strictly speaking WW2 exploitation films should have a Scotsman as the demolitions expert. -

Congratulations Kingz, all the best Be sure to have a Best Man, and then HE can be the one to distract the in-laws at important points on the day itself. It is his job to take bullets for you after all.
