Erm. Welcome to thumbs? A proper hello would have been nice, before diving into spam territory .

That made me laugh. I never played Morrowind; something about it just didnt appeal. But I was determined to try and enjoy Oblivion. Alas, I drifted out of it fairly quickly. Like Miffy, i felt it lacked narative and characterization for me. OK so it did have those things, but they felt too 2D. My disbelief was at no point suspended. Now Neverwnter 2, out next month - THAT has me excited.

BBC news has a particularly vile interpretation of Pete's words: Not just video games people, but an entirely new form of entertainment!!!111oneone. Of course, what he actualy meant was that video games are the new form of entertainment, and he would like to have a go. at least, I hope that's what he meant.

tue, i dont think they can keep putting out one a year. they will have to slow down or they might burn out. oh, wait... sorry ¬¬ There are refinements that could be made however. The game is all about savouring the visceral effects of a crash - peices of glass, crumpling metal. I would like to see notable crashes slowed down even more, and the physics on cars falling apart improved. in fact, I've just realised why I didnt like Burnout 4 as much - when there's a crash, the game hardly slowls down at all, you dont get a chance to appreciate that gorgeous bullet-time as you did in 3; when the heavenly choir starts and tears fill my eyes.... MWHAHAHAHAHAH!

"Game journos go where the wind blows?" aka console war thread #137
DanJW replied to Marek's topic in Video Gaming
Marek. You have posted enough in this thread to make a new article ¬¬ . Also, I agree with you. -
She is a Welsh singer, who became famous while still a minor for singing classical soprano peices. Having come of age and being given full access to her fortune she has set about trying to be a popstar and general tabloid fodder. I still fail to see why Yufster posted these. Slow work day Yuf?

Don't know, don't listen to the radio much. 90% of the stuff on all stations is crap.

Spaff showed my Lucky Number Sleven the other day. Liked it. Oddly theatrical, and while some twists were predictable, others were not.

Is there a Due South Game?... Canadian Regiments are depicted in Call of Duty 3, I know that much (with horrendous accents). Also, you didn't hear that from me ¬¬

I had a lot of fun watching PotC 2. I'm conflicted by Davey Jones though. Bill Nighey plays the part superbly, but the actual concept of the character feels like it was inserted by someone who didn't quite get the franchise. It was too conceived. Favourite buit was the 3-way sword fight, I was laughing for that whole 20 inute sequence. So yes, not a great movie, but enjoyable.

I thought he was saying that while Nintendo is chasing the "virgin" gamers with it's new "non-gamer" aesthertic, it is losing it's old hardcore audience. Which would be us.... Oh yes: LOL.

Hmm, I haven't played Burnout 4 as much, but I think I prefer 3. The only thing 4 has going for it is smashing civilian traffic out the way, and some impressie stunt shortcuts. But in a way it makes the game less challenging. It might have some better multiplayer too, but I don't know for sure.

Good list. Thats pretty much what I would have told you off the top of my head. Only thing I can add right now is how much I'm enjoying Kingdom Hearts 2. I'll come back if I think of anything else. General PS2 ownership? Not much to know. the things are idiot proof, because thats a major part of their core demographic () heheh. Just know this: at some point, it WILL break, and you will have to prop it up at all sorts of incredible angles to make it work a bit longer.

I friend of mine performed that experiment on his girlfriend when he found out that she had no knowledge of Star Wars. To his relief she preferred the classic trilogy.

I really enjoyed the first Bloodrayne game. I just liked the fluid acrobatic guns and mélée system. I would load it up on certain levels now and again and dismember nazis for 20 minutes and be happy. As a whole it was pretty rubbish though.

Well, there would have to be a lock in the device for any sort of lock on any of the games to function. I guess there could still be an option for publishers to make their games region 0.

I would convert mine into a robotic Each Uisge.

Ignore Yufster. She is rude even when not overworked

Hi Knowhow. Welcome to Thumbs. I'm gonna move this to the banter forum, but no worries.

Heh, Starship Troopers for instance?

ARSE! I'm in the same boat now; I have just got hold of Kingdom Hearts 2. Played about 4 hours of it and was enjoying it immensley before taking it home to play on my flatmate's PS2 before discovering that it's a motherfucking NTSC version. The game comes out here at the end of the month, and will be premium price. I hate Sony. So. Goddamn. Much.
