Hmm, yes, I guess I too agree with the general sentiment of the first post. It was just the incredibly hostile tone that made it objectionable. That and the apparent desire to attack people on these forums, all of whom I think are awsome.

Err.. I wasn't shooting down your opinion, just expressing an opposing one. The "majority" bit was an observation and from where I stand, a true one. Most people here do dislike Lucas now. I was replying to you shooting down someone elses opinion about Lucas not rocking. So what? No need to get so defensive already. But I do not think one can simultaneously fall from grace and continue to rock. Rock implies grace

Goblin Commander was also an RTS designed specifically for console. Seems it was a bit oants though. But I reckon you're right Cagney, PC does have massive advantages for RTS. But then it's seen as something of a niche genre anyway. Hmm, anyone know of any efforts to make a true RTS MMO?

Since you are talking about having courage in your convictions, maybe you should be brave and name names. It's not really fair to attack someone so obliquely that no-one knows who it is that's being attacked.

Interesting that you mention wikipedia. Is this because of the trend for linking to wikipedia to back up a claim? This is just an evolution of a principle. Often in discussions (read: arguments) people spout facts all over the place. It got to the point where other people started to ask them to reference these facts - a practice derived from scientific study and a very good one since it prevents people from making stuff up. It's one of the cornerstones of the process of peer review. Since wikipedia is fairly comprehensive and easy to search, and normally references it's sources itself, it is much easier to use a wiki page to back up your claim than it is to search the rest of the net for it. Sure wikipedia isn't always right, be it generally is pretty good on the major factual things. So maybe what you've interpreted as "people being told what to think by wikipedia" is actually people backing up their arguments by linking to factual information in an open-source encyclopedia. Surely that's a better style of debate than just shouting "I'm right and you're wrong" at people? 9 out of 10 cats say to trust me on this.

Warm milk? Can we have a warm milk smiley (with a sprinkle of cinnamon)?

Who is Tantrum? He/she lives in brighton, so I might know ye (ye???). Anyway, I like the cut of your jib.

Hey, chill out guy, relaaaaaaax. Have a warm milk or something. With a sprinkle of cinnamon. Mmmmmmmmm.

No, I expect the majority feeling here is that Georgie-boy has fallen from grace, much like his charcter Anakin. He was seduced by the evil Emperor of Massive Profit from Low Investment.

Anything game-related is worth buying if it's 10 bucks or less. It's kind of a rule I live by. -
Awww Hopefully you'll get some paraders from here, but be prepared for the odd ET, JB or li'l Hitler

Heh, Mean Bean Machine was good, but wasn't it basically just a Poyo Pop clone? Sonic Spinball was also strangely decent. -
Celebrity Guitar Hero 2 controller auction on eBay

Oooh, Metalocalypse... A Deathklok controller would be nice. It might well have razor blades on every key, but still... -

Walter et al, try Driver: Parrallel Lines. It's a pretty good model of New York as far as I know (1974 and 2004). The police will bust you if they see you speeding or running a red light etc. There's also a seperate "heat" meter for yourself and the car you're driving in (so if you can lose the cops for a moment you can switch car - or get a car with darkened windows if they're looking for your face in the driver seat). There are some really nice tense moments when the police are looking for you and you have to stop at a junction with a cop car opposite. You can't pull out or they'll notice you; you can't hang around too long or they'll see you behind the wheel...

Heh, I'm sure the Mayor is pleased that GTA doesn't award points for killing or injuring police officers. In fact doing so is likely to land you in Hospital. Just like messing with the real NYPD!

Grand Theft Safari! I wanna ride me that elephant, boiy.

Okay-dokey then. This makes me slightly less interested in it though.

But did Liberty City have the Statue of Liberty, the Chrysler Building and Times Square, amongst other NYC landmarks?
-
Surely the question that really needs debating is: is this man a twat?

I Never played GTA III or LCS, so correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that real-life New York rather than Liberty City? I really enjoyed Vice City, and San Andreas looked pretty good even though I didn't play it much. I was wondering if they would continue with the "decade" theme, but they've pretty much exhausted them (70's was done well by Driver: Parrallel lines, and 60's would be too cliché). Looks like Rockstar are running short on ideas. I guess a different country would be nice, maybe Italy or Japan.. The Russian is a nice touch. Hmm, just a thought, but what if it covers more than one location? San Andreas had a number of cities didn't it? Could be that our comrade will make a trip back to the Fatherland

There was a game of I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. I haven't played it or read the story, but I want to do either or both.

Heh, just saw this trailer for a possible non-fiction game. What the History Channle is doing trying to take on Total War I have no fucking idea.
-
Oooooh ooh I thought of a non-fiction game! Microsoft Flight Simulator. I think. I can't think of a non-genre fiction game though. Facade?
