How could she get full marks when her spelling is terrible? I no longer trust Irish teachers.

I have decided not to apply for a job with your employer. Ever.

How do we know ET wasn't female and grown up? And I'm sure she'd look great after a bit of botox.

Check the track listings, see what you like.

OK, as guess this might work as a prequal, of sorts.

Teach them a lesson for what? Engaging in a cold war? At least they never used their nukes, unlike some nations. Being the subject of 40 years of US propaganda? Yeah, teach 'em a lesson for that Maybe you were being ironic, I dunno.

Oh yeah, the toy was better. But the tie-in cartoon tv-show was rubbish. Kissyfur was at least funny. Or I remmber it being funny. It was probably lame, but I'm not going to watch it again to find out.

Wow, any passer-by lookig at the list of topics right now might think this was a typical internet gaming forum

Calm down Adama. No one likes it when you get angry and threaten to nuke things

I with thinking more like the sleep of the undead.

Thumbs isn't dead damn you! It's just been driven into torpor. So this 'ning thing is like a much better version of Yahoo groups?

Kissyfur was better than Ruxpin

Errr, I didn't really know what else to reply. Yeah it all sucks, but in politics there seems to be no such thing as accumulative judgement. As long as the government wheedle out of each individual incident as it occurs then they are fine - there's no score kept.

Oh Marek, I love you because of your cute idealism.

Yeah, I've said it before, but I see HL2 as a great example of story telling through environment. What some people feel is missing is exposition.

Okay, my two, chosen in the interest of dispute A favourite = Counterstrike Source. There. said it. But seriously, day to day, year on year, this is probably the game I play the most. It still looks fairly decent, especially the HDR maps, but most importantly it plays well. It rewards both skill and teamwork. It has many many options for tactics. Good quality ommunity content continues to appear, such as really proffessional maps and really clever UI ad-ins and server gadgets. And I play on a server that I love, with a bunch of regulars who are a lot of fun to joke around with. A least favourite = Final Fantasy series, mainly 7 because that gets the most love. Can't stand it. Hardly played at all, besides Crystal Chronicles. I just find the whole thing a massive turn-off - mainly the worst UI in gaming (seriously, I've seen text-only games with better interfaces). But also the insipidness of it. Supposedly some of the best stories in gaming, they look to me like bloated cliché soap operas with added pretty lights. It's like watching Neighbours, performed by Poser models. And they have the audacity to call themselves RPGs! There's never been any less roleplay in a game! They're basically adventure games, only with more pointles numbers. The whole thing is based on Dungeons and Dragons but the actual gameplay has less personality than a 13 year old Dungeon Master with Aspergers. Fuck off Final Fantasy. hahah that was fun Favourite MILF = Yufster's

EDGE names Ocarina of Time 'greatest game ever'

Since we claim to be above all that Edge nonsense here and are generally better informed and superior human beings, how about we don't post what our favourite game is? Instead, thats agree on some criteria, then have a think, then post the game that we each judge to be the best, rather than the one we would like to win. Off the top of my head for instance, I might nominate Super Mario Brothers; even though I personally would prefer to see Sonic win, because SMB: is a really playable game, it is very well crafted, it coined a genre it introduced iconic characters, all of which made Nintendo a household name That was just an example, I'd have to think a bit more carefully to make sure I haven't overlooked a more important game. So what criteria? How about Concept (including the story if it is a narrative game) Gameplay (including features, balance etc) Use of Technology (including graphics if they are a major component) Quality (including art assets if important) Impact (the knock on effect the game had on the industry and the world) Interject now if you disagree, agree, or wish to remain neutral! Yes this is an attempt at being objective, which Thumbs likes to steer clear of, but even attempting one of these lists is an admission of a desire for objective judgement. There's no point in trying decide a "subjectively best" game.

EDGE names Ocarina of Time 'greatest game ever'

Or as I like to call the magazine "The Edge of Hyperbole" -
Hehehe Why Did You Buy the PS3? Because it's the most powerful console in the world. And I need that for all my wrestling games. 7% It has better games than those white consoles. 10% Because Sony are cooler than The Fonze - even if he was driving the car from Knight Rider with Teen Wolf in the passenger seat. 5% I didn't buy it. Why? None of your business. 78%

Well, GTA is always going to be a bit "same old" - the forumula is what makes it GTA. Hard to see how they could drastically change it without making it a different game altogether. I've always thought the animation in the GTA 3D series is some of the best. They took low-poly models and brought them to life with really great mo-cap. I hate seeing badly animated models these days, but the still pop up in so many "top end" games. What might be getting to you Thrik is that the gestures are too exaggerated. When the models were low-poly this worked well, but now that the figures themselves are more lifelike the big movements are starting to be more noticeable - as they edge into the uncanny valley in fact.

Hahahah TCGs! Now tabletop wargaming, there's a hobby/addiction you can really spend a fortune on...
