Nonono, that's a burrow level, a different game design cliché entirely.

Yeah, I'd go for the PS3, since you're getting it for free. The Wii may be more fun but is also more affordable.

Oh, yes, I did enjoy Deus Ex, it's excellent. But in terms of modelling cities it was overambitious for its time.
-
Well, Deus Ex is supposed to take place within major world capitols. As such, they do seem rather empty, even if the areas involved have been evacuated. System Shock 2 takes place on a spacecraft where almost all the residents have been killed or mutated, but that spacecraft feels fully realised and seems like it was inhabited only a few hours ago.

I've always been slightly mistrustful of the Wheel of Time novels, even though I've never read them. But I was in a book store the other day and there they were - up to book 20 or whatever. That's just not right.

Oh Jesus Christ ABANDON CITY!
-
Since when are polls subject to popular demand (other than the result I mean)? Or are they merely extending it in the hope that a different name will win? It's Blue Peter all over again dammit!

Ah, a classic variation on The Aristocrats.

Freudian typo!

Yeah, that sucked. As well as the irritating, garbled voice (and he has a dig at Yahtzee's accent!) it wasn't all that funny, and way too long. I had to skip to the end. It's made me suddenly realise that Yahtzee really does know what he's doing.

Don't forget the seminal "oh no I've run out of instant noodles, now I have to buy food and cook it" moment. It's a rite of passage. Seriously, learn to cook the good shit, if you can't already. Everyone will love you.

It's a hang-over from the "games are for kids" days. The industry loves telling people how the average age of gamers is now 33, but it still bases its sales strategy on What Santa Will be Getting You For Christmas.

Now there's a thought. A Star Trek adventure/FPS...

I've found the AI better than most, and definately challenging when the difficulty is turned up. They do use cover, flank, avoid grenades, throw grenades if you stay in cover etc (also they talk to each other, which is what often gives many people the impression of good AI). Like all AI though it is possible to play in a way that the AI just can't handle. Not that I'm suggesting that you are "playing it wrong" because ultimately that kind of suggestion is silly. As for the inaccurate guns, this makes sense in terms of visuals. If you watch the mini-docu about the game, you can see that when the devs play it they go in all guns blazing, using tonnes of slo-mo. When you do this, having bullets ricocheting off every surface and destroying everything in sight is what gives the game it's unique "explodey chaos" looks. Basically, the game is at it's best when played in a John Woo style, and the graphics, weapons and AI are designed to complement this. The level design really is just boring though, and can only be described as "functional". The best it gets is offices and labs, mainly because they have lots of glass that looks good shattering in slow motion. And I thought there were some genuinely freaky moments with the scary stuff. The final bit in the vault with Alma was well done too I thought, although the "escape" bit after that involving tonnes of those suicidal ghosts was silly. I played the first XP, and while the gameplay and environments were slightly better the story and was nonsensical and barely existed. The series as a whole could have been improved by a better narrative, I thought, if only to give it more focus and imagination.

You could try looking for a public annual report of somehwere like Game or EB.

It was pretty good. I can see how it would be appealing to go "back to basics" before the crazy psychelic ride that looks to be Season 4. And as a symbol of that, the old model Cylon soldiers were great. And jesus, I had forgotten what a psycho bitch Admiral Kain was. As for the mysterious stuff

and huge?

You have to remember that Spaff has no middle ground. He either falls in love with something, or loathes it. Very black & white. That's why we love him

Most of the criticism by fallout fans has been about the move from top-down to first person. They're making a lot of noise about it, but put that rather silly foible out of the way and the actual substance of the game is sounding good. To me anyway.

Actually , having watched the clip all the way through, it looks like a cheesy but harmless kid's animation. We've probably been spoiled by Pixar over the years, where we now expect all animated kids movies to have plenty for the adults too. That doesn't have to be the case. Happy Feet does look like it is aimed at very young children, after all.

Well, the cylon part has always provided the mystery elements of the show. And the problem with mystery elements is that you have to keep providing new ones, or stretch out the existing ones (see: Lost). I'm guessing that the male hybrid was, like the Sharon cylon said, a prototype of the female hybrids and a stepping-stone in the evolution of cylons from machines to organic beings. He seems to have the clairevoyance-type thing going on that the female hybrids do too, although he is more coherent.

Hitler has super-hearing? Also, gratz. Having your own place is awesome. I miss it. Maybe if I save up for another year I will be able to afford a part-share in a shack. ALthough if I'm really lucky the housing market will finally crash before then.

OOOhhhhh surprise surprise, some music executives missed the point of why it was popular. Who would have thought that could happen?

I kind of got the impression that it was made to cash in on March of the Penguins. You, know, for people that can't handle non-CGI animals, like retarded children maybe. Actually thats not true. Actual children with "learning difficulties" tend to love real animals. But you know what I mean.
