Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
BigJKO replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Haha! I had no idea. But it's ok, and I'm sorry. I've started building a small castle-thingy outside the fence. Unless you've extended it even further. -

Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

That would be awesome! Then I'd finally be able to get in on the Thumb epoch madness! -
Right.

It's probably something with my brain/eye. Heavy panning of camera is even worse for me when it's in 3D(!).
-
Yes. I was sitting quite close, so it was a bit too much for me at times. I sort of got used to it about a third way through, though. But! I really enjoyed the movie.

Idle Thumbs Progresscast #8: This Time it's Public
BigJKO replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Yes, hearing about Jake's crazy prospector stories was great! I love how Minecraft makes you set your own crazy goals. For no reason at all, perhaps just mineral greed, I started digging down on some friend's server. After several hours I reach the bottom of the earth. That triggers my next goal: My Underground Lair. Finished with my lair, complete with volcanic hot tub, I start getting home sick. I miss my tiny little castle. I miss seeing the moon. The sun. Clouds. That's when I realized I had built such an elaborate underground cavern that there was no way to actually find the hole from where I came. So I had to spend the next couple of hours digging stairs all the way up to the surface. At the time, I didn't know this, but I was only a couple of levels away from the surface, when I dug my way up into a river. So I got flushed all the way back to the bottom of the world. In the end, I got up by building a second stairway on top of the flow of water. I wouldn't have done this in any other game. -
Obviously.

The Idle Book Club 1: The Sense of an Ending
BigJKO replied to Chris's topic in Idle Book Club Episodes
If you're the kind of person who doesn't mind reading a book on your iThing, it's available in the iBooks app. -
My post was probably way harsher than what my opinion is. It all works fine as a narrative device and was very entertaining, I thought. My problem was always that this sideways world didn't exist. I had a problem with it being purely spiritual. BUT, I was thinking about this the other day after reading this thread and my own comments. They pretty much leave this open to interpret the way you want it. If you like the spiritual stuff, power to you. But if you like to pretend there's some scientific (well, as scientific as LOST gets) explanation to the sideways thing, there is the Desmond episode and Juliet whispering "we'll go dutch". I'm not even sure what I'm saying. My head hurts now.. I liked the finale!

I don't remember if this was the first one. But I remember my mom being sent a BBC Micro from her work. I played some weird fairytale text adventure game on it, the name I can't recall. Maybe it was , sure looks like it.

God, Sal. Those are amazing!

I still love and defend LOST. It had practical problems, the same that every TV show has to deal with. No plot is set in stone, due to writer's strikes, scheduling, actor's dropping out, etc. Eko was, apparently, supposed to play a bigger role but he didn't want to stay in Hawaii. And I don't have as much of a problem with the last season as others do, apparently. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I could've done without the Man in Black & Jacob flashback and the Temple shaman guy. They felt like too much new stuff, when there was already enough to be wrapped up. But other than that, it was a satisfying, at times a tad clunky, race to the finish. Anyways, I'd say definitely watch the last season. It's entertaining all the way through. Of course, assuming you enjoyed S5 just a little bit. Ben, where do you stand on the sideways universe thing? I'm still a bit disappointed it didn't fit better in and felt more like a real thing. I got my hopes up in the Desmond episode, but I guess he just I recently got a friend hooked on LOST, and he said "Loved the first two seasons, fell asleep in the finale" which I couldn't understand.. Except I agreed with him that the sideways thing grew more and more pointless.

Sorry, misunderstood you completely. I'm an idiot. Thought you were complaining along the lines of "Why is this called X-Com when it's not X-Com, waaah!"

Wait, what? Am I missing something here? This sounds like a SimCity game.

Ahhhh, I see. Double Fixed now!

IDLE THUMBS: A Retrospective In Triple A
BigJKO replied to Roderick's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Yes. In Idle Thumbs 7: Stop Doing Interviews. Steve "Hot Scoops" Gaynor's chair, which was really a table, broke. In that thread, there is also a picture of Chris' stair breaker.
