Yeah, it's confirmed (in Jon Blow's description of that YouTube video) to be coming to iOS, PC and PS4.
-
Yeah, The Killzone: The Shadow Fall: Rising was pretty awful. Was that Ass Creed Man at one point in that trailer? The one who shot that dude and then walked up and transformed into a hooded Ass Creed Man. Was that Ass Creed Man? Ass Creed Man.

Yeah, that's true. Although, I still have no idea how large The Witness is.. I figured I'd play it at a similar pace and in chunks like The Room, only over a longer period of time.
-
Play it on your iPad, then.
-
Did the DRIVECLUB guy really say ?
-
Or just play it on your PC? Here's a take on the event that echoes my feelings about the thing: http://gameological.com/2013/02/more-more-morehow-do-you-like-it/

I had the exact opposite reaction to Twig.. This drained every last drop of excitement I previously had for big games / next gen / etc.. My only hope now is a proper Steam Box announcement soon.

It just failed spectacularly at convincing me why I'd need another Playbox. There were two exclusive games? A year old PC game. The Share Buthon™. Tech demos we'd seen before. The only thing that was even remotely interesting was the instant play from power on stuff. It's not "worst" or "best" just.. "meh.." Oh, wait.. my mind exploded when Media Molecule showed that sculpting stuff. They should've just let Media Molecule do a full show instead of all that other shit. Also, The Witness looks great and exciting but Jon Blow's intro for it.. "We distilled the essence of Aha.." SHADOWCLUB KILLFALL

Well! That finally convinced me that I'll never want a traditional console ever again. Please Be Excited.

Absolutely! I don't want to sound like I'm doing the reverse "Not-games are ruining this industry. Dark Age of PC Gaming!" It was just a quick gut reaction to the 8 game franchise plan from Activision. It probably makes financial sense. Although, I'm afraid that if this isn't the huge success everyone seems to be hoping it will be, a lot of people will lose jobs (as has already happened a lot of places where people presumably planned for franchise also?) But like you say, that would be also true for a one-off huge game. Oh right! Ever make anything but shooters again. It's like Blizzard almost feel locked into their three franchises and their gameplay staples, and you forget they used to make Lost Vikings, Rock n' Roll Racing and Blackmore or whatever that was called.

Sure, I don't expect Bungie to ever make anything but shooters, and it's not the number of games (or expansions, whatever), it's just the relentless planning for this to be a guaranteed success mega-hit series that makes me just the tiniest depressed. It's the same feeling when movie studios started announcing things in trilogies (and soon after, the same from game studios) Now it's an 8 year franchise, from the get-go. How about we wait and see if the first one's any good? Can Activision cancel their 8-game order if the game's aren't wildly successful?
-
Jesus.. they've already planned for this to be an 8 game series?! *barf* By the end the sphere will have opened to reveal itself full of burning human skull people for no reason. Spoilers!
-
And miss that feeling of superiority?! Never.

Haha, Sean is both shaved and more sad!

Not a gaming podcast but Alec Baldwin's Here's The Thing interview podcast is great if you like listening to Alec Baldwin's sweet, manly voice.

I'm excited to see how Sony spectacularly miscalculates what the next five years of gaming is. Count me in for a Steam get together!

That would be a weird requirement of them.. It should be an option? Didn't they tell you so on twitter?

I don't know, maybe? I feel like this is the natural progression of the idea of SimCity and it definitely feels more like a true sequel than 4 did. But I've seen plenty of people calling this out for not allowing big enough cities and what not.. I think the detailed simulation is much more interesting than having a huge city, but I can see why someone would want both. I'm not sure it's just because of minimum system requirements (it probably is, to a certain degree) but also just a design ethos which is scaling things down, simplifying without sacrificing complexity. It's an interesting choice, and in the end people can just go back and play SimCity 2000. If this were just SimCity 2000+ it'd be a bit unambitious, IMO. Mington, you're right. Why can't I change my thread title?

What about New Super Mario Bros. 2? Is that any good? I liked the first one, so I figure it can't be completely awful..

Thank you, and thank you for answering my silly questions! I'm absolutely thrilled I'll be playing a Nintendo device soon!
