You probably mean well, but you need to step back, (apply punctuation) and think about what you're saying in a thread dedicated to feminism. This is a very complex, sensitive subject, that a lot of people are very personally invested in, and right now you're coming at with the broadest, insulting sledgehammer. The keywords for a subject like this is to read/listen before commenting. Maybe you already have, but my recommendation is to go back and read the entire thread before making your point. You might learn some new things. You might even find that some of the things you're thinking about have already been said in a more thoughtful manner.

This is amazing. Obviously the solution to sexism is just get over it and realize that what women want is to eat chocolate in a game.. stalkinghead, you've really outdone yourself there.

Rymdkapsel is pretty great. Surreal RTS/Tetris thingy. Pretty addicting. I'm playing it on iPad. I'd imagine it's a bit hard to play on an iPhone. Also, Double Fine out out rhythm game Dropchord. Bought it but haven't tried it yet.

Actually, iOS has change logs if you press "View more.." (I think it's called) when you're updating the app or on the app's page in the App Store, at the bottom it says Release History. Ridiculous Fishing has a huge update notice for the latest one. That said not all iOS apps are as detailed in their change log descriptions. Letterpress has the best changelogs. It's just the one guy who made it making jokes and ranting about at length about each feature he adds.

Haven't seen World's End, but I remember the other two in the 'trilogy' also feeling a tad clumsy in the second half. And yes, especially with Hot Fuzz, I appreciated them much more on a second viewing. Can't wait to see World's End.

Toblix was joking, as this thread is obviously intended for posting about playing adventure games.. And yes, your lengthy posts are awesome and fun to read. Keep doing that. Keep it up being awesome and fun to read.

Holy shit, I did not realize Red was played by Captain Janeway!! Finished Orange is the new Black yesterday. It's pretty damn great. It gets a bit too cute at a couple of places, but it's worth it for when it reaches the sweetest or most dramatic moments. And man, that ending. Too long to wait for the second season..

Transport Tycoon for iOS has just been announced. Very exciting! That teaser trailer, however, is not.

What a way to start off! You got 300 likes/reblogs on that.

Amazing, teg! Sell a print of it and I will buy one.

Aww... when I read the 'retro' in the thread title I thought we were all gonna play GTA 1 or 2 together..

It's definitely a finished, polished first half of the game in January, according to Tim's note. And some months later an update, with the second half.

Has anyone tried the iOS Layton Brothers game? I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't a proper Layton game, but it's nice and polished and there's at least nothing like it on iOS. I'm not too far but so far it has areal tendency to play itself almost. Just let me be a detective, damn it. Let me do my detecting and stop doing cutscenes to help me along..

Thank god! What's next? Loom?

I'd definitely recommend trying out Donkey kong Country Returns 3D, if you didn't play it on Wii.

Yeah, that's the biggest disappointment of the series. S2's great finale promises so much but it never actually delivers in S3 or any of the following seasons.
-
The actual west wing plot does not cheer up much, but the last season is about re-elections and that plotline is loads of fun, if I remember correctly.

Alright, I'm sold. I'm going to assume this is a HL3 ARG. I believe! The Korean on that note says "the time is", and some of the markings might have something to do with the sun and planets and whatnot. No matter what this is, puzzles like this are always fun to see unfold.

In a perfect world where it'd be easy for every developer to add and test and balance separate game modes for what players might want to do, I might agree that just giving everyone the option is a neat idea. But doing this isn't as trivial as putting a fast-forward button. Some developers like to be able to guarantee a good gameplay experience, and if they'd just throw a reload feature in without thought about how it'd actually play, they might not feel that they're delivering what they set out to do. (There are also a lot of developers that love giving player all the choice they can) So it comes down to resources, I think. Roguelikes are permadeath only, without other options because devoting resources to making sure that the option to reload would also be a good game, isn't a luxury most of these developers have. In the end there are a handful of permadeath games and a shitload of games that allow saving/reloading. You already have a choice: playing any of the many games out there. But I'm happy we were able to help you pinpoint what you don't like about permadeath games!
-
I don't know what to tell you. Again, I feel like you're missing the point of permadeath completely. As an option to a game it's absolutely useless. It is either a game made for it or it isn't. It's like you're arguing for why apples aren't more like oranges? I don't like football games but that doesn't mean I want all football games to be racing games instead. Whether you like it or not permadeath has a place in certain games and there's obviously a market for it.

I love it! Love him constantly mentioning babes as an ironic jab at how completely obsessed E3 is with them. Ugh, at the guy saying "We're just keeping it real". So happy Conan pointed out to him how gross and unnecessary that was.
