  1. TF2 Thumbs Tournament

Oh, I was playing.. what's it called.. Dustbowl? And at some point we, the defensive team, and it seemed like the fight would go on forever because both teams were holding their ground well just inside a little, narrow passageway. Both teams were holding it pretty good with Heavies and Medics, with occasional Demomen and Soldiers, when someone shouts to me "Go pyro, now!" and we rush in as three Pyros from behind, front and above and flame them all to hell. We died again and again, though, so I can only imagine the havoc we could've dealth with a couple of Medics on our backs. Unrelated, I think my favorite map is quickly becoming Hydro. Simply because it keeps changing.
  2. TF2 Thumbs Tournament

Most of the time I just shoot anyone who isn't firing their gun. I tend to be overly suspicious. Most satisfying, though, is when I memorize the class of a teammate I know after spawning, and nail every spy that ends up with his name and the wrong class.
  3. Portal

    Heart-less bastard!
  4. Portal

To be fair, Thrik, what makes the Weighted Companion Cube so much more lovable beyond the heart, is GlaDoS' comments about it. And the fact that
  5. Transformers

I thought the movie was fun. It was rubbish, but a lot of fun.
  6. And now I've got HL2 and Episode One to give. To actual posters (and their friends.)
  7. TF2 Thumbs Tournament

Just bought the Orange Box, so I'm going to have to start training myself up. I'm afraid of joining the servers I see some of you playing on, because I suck so much I'll probably end up ruining the game. Joined a server DanJW was playing on, and sucked it up. Big time. Did stupid stuff like running as a Heavy, with a Medic on my back, into the enemy base to spawns (dying instantly of course) and yelling "Watch out for a spy in the intelligence room", using the All-Chat instead of Team-Chat (*). Had no idea where the hell anything was in the map, either. It kept telling me my team's intelligence was captured and I had absolutely no idea where to look. But hey, it was my first time. (*) That did send the spy running towards me, though, and I took care of him.

I actually thought that picture was a picture of a miniature landscape. Just couldn't believe those were actual life-size fences. Look more like match-sticks.

I'm using Adobe Flash.. Can't say I think it sucks.
  10. Rigby

I can't for the life of me seem to be able to replicate that thing, except the very first time I tried and never since (and unfortunately I wasn't wearing my handy debug goggles at the time) So, I've just reuploaded a new version, with... hopefully fixed mechanics. Let me know if any of you happen upon the bug again.
  11. Rigby

Me neither. I just thought, I'd rather have a difficulty curve that's a bit too slow than a bit too steep. Oh, and UPDATE: Glitch is hopefully fixed. If you happen upon it again, let me know! Also, scoreboards are awesome now, thanks to Noyb.

Awesome idea! I was wonderig what I was going to do with the semi-boring scoreboard after some guy on Kongregate basically tore it a new one. Thanks! And thanks for the comments, too. Yes, it's full of bugs. Especially the collision detection. It was my first go at circle-shaped collision, which is a bitch the first time. And after finally figuring it out my code was in such a bad shape I never got the courage to go and rewrite it properly. Some people somehow even wound up out of the level when touching a moving block. I have no idea how that happened, but I'm obviously going to fix that somehow. The solution to that L-shaped level should've been to jump on the side block, then lightly touch the double-block so that you could move under it, jump off the block under it and back up to finish it off. Hope that made sense.
  13. http://digg.com/videos/comedy/URGENT_How_To_Survive_a_Zombie_Apocalypse Pretty awesome. The bearded guy is hilarious.
  14. How to survive a Zombie Apocalypse

So that you could digg it?
  15. Guitar Hero III (and demo!)

Am I right in thinking GH3 is coming to the Wii, as well?
  16. Brutal Legend magazine scans

LMAO @ the Double Fine logo on DFAN.
  17. Brutal Legend magazine scans

I just love all their monster designs! Big, awful vagina giant. Monster with mouths on his shoulders. And, of course, talking mouth-for-a-face. It's all dripping of awesome.
  18. Brutal Legend magazine scans

HD trailer FTW! It looks amazing!
  19. Brutal Legend magazine scans

Ok. It's probably easier to market, but I don't think Sierra made this trailer "xtreme", as you implied. When I read about the game, this is exactly what I picture.

I don't get the "lowest common denominator" comments.. Tim's had this Heavy Metal idea in his head for a long time, well.. at least the name.. and the concept of the game is original, awesome and hilarious. And when you think about this concept it's not exactly executable without action, blood and huge, weird demon-things. I mean it's a Heavy Metal game.. So, where exactly does Sierra come in and wreck things for the "lowest common denominator"? EDIT: What Erkki said..
  21. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

I hope they eventually implement it so that the syringes stay on the body you shoot. That would look hilarious..
  22. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

No, it's not superficial. The style determines how the game is played. Without the easily decipherable silhouettes of each of the classes, the game would be a whole lot different. If the heavy class isn't a big mother-fucker, with a huge gun, you wouldn't be afraid of going into a one-on-one with him. If the game didn't give the player visual cues to almost every gameplay aspect (the spy mask, f.ex.), the game would be a lot harder for players to learn, and ultimately master.
  23. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

The fundamental difference being that the style is based on functionality, and becomes an integral part of the gameplay.
