  1. Blog-engines?

I meant an outside service.. - but thx for the tips...
  2. Peacemaker

hmm -' the game really interests me - but I don't want to blow 20$ if its simply not good. To bad there is no demo - any reviews except the one already given (which was more of an article really)?
  3. Peacemaker

Yes exactly - Hidden Agenda [ http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=506 ]. I think I still have a copy laying around. No its very very far from Tropico. And in the same vein as peacemaker I think. Industrialists would ask you to do one thing, while poor farmers would ask you to do the exact opposite. And if not verrry careful - CIA-supported coup on your arse.... It can be highly recommended for anyone interested in modern southamerican political history... I think you can only get it if you write to the author and promise to donate to southamerican charity
  4. Peacemaker

This actually sounds really interesting- it reminds me of a game - can't remember the name - where you play a newly elected president of a south-american country - really giving you hard moral choices all the time - trying to make all sides happy. It really gave a good idea of the political problems and difficultires of south-america in the 80's. Too bad there isn't a demo - but I'm seriously considering buying this.
  5. Then watch this video: http://www.zappinternet.com/index.php?video=fodCyoDmiV (if you want it to go away that is...)
  6. Are you sad and/or depressed?

yeah - it's him. He also made other interesting videos - I think you'll find them searching on his name on youtube. But the drums/piano thing is the best me thinks...
  7. Check out my blog!

YAY - blog'ercial: http://sharkalisharri.stumbleupon.com/ Also which blog-engines (or whatever you call it) can idle T'ers recommend? (preferably free)...
  8. Remo Extremo™ VS Our House...

you should have - extremo reality TV, would be sure to be a hit...
  9. Remo Extremo™ VS Our House...

I call bluff, the floor was clearly destroyed already in the first picture. Is it some sort of dramatic reconstruction OR was it a lie all the time - hmm?
  10. Oh for crying out loud!!

This is insane - and I think too insane for it to fly in anything else than some mad politicians heads - this is from bavaria you know - and we all know that it is ruled by werewolfes. (meaning= some local politicians madness; NOT = countrywide opinions .. I hope).
  11. There is no way there is marketshares for a new computer-platform (against microsoft/all pc-producers/apple/beos and all the linux crowd) AND a new console (against nintendo/microsoft/sony). I agree that the amiga was really nice - but I think what you want it to do are covered so much by too many players on the computer-market. The hardware/OS/games-console market is not something you break into with ideas that worked in the 80ties/90ties - it will simply be covered between the different players already. Besides there is the basic dichotomy between playing games on your couch and working (and playing games) at your desk. Maybe the revolution should come from a furniture developer: behold the couch-chair-desk-bed...
  12. Coffee

Well, the top part and the bottom part can be seperated, instead of going through a tedious description I give you this: Viola - now drink. If you don't own one of the really expensive espresso-machines, it is one of the fastest and easiest methods to make coffee - good if you like it fresh. You can vary the amount of coffe if you don't like it strong.
  13. 'But that is not going to happen except for the very hardcore nerds (who also does this: http://www.benheck.com/Games/Xbox360/x360_page_5.htm). What you are talking about is basically what the PC is today - a totally custom game console (sort of). This thing of integrating pc-like capabilities into game consoles is part of a tendency where every feature is controlled by the manufacturer (as opposite to the pc, where you can besically chose how it does what you want - and make it do things the manufacturer never thought of). The good thing about this is a smooth user-experience, you'll get this at the cost of a freedom of what you want to do with your basic hardware. This is a case in point with the iphone - it will be a totally nice user-experience. But if apple are denying 3rd party applications development (as seems to be the case as of now) - everything you do is defined by the choices of the manufacturer. The funny thing is that the way a computer is used today is in many cases due to people being creative with an open medium (e.g. netscape) - never because the guys with the money decided it. oups, suddenly I'm in a totally off-topic rant....
  14. No actually I have no idea - but as far as I remember oblivion is not really procedural - anyone?
  15. procedural music right here. Procedural in the sense that given the initial conditions, the music will evolve due to these conditions: http://www.grotrian.de/spiel/d/spiel_win.html
  16. Coffee

Ahh coffee. I usually make it on this: I have three sizes for different occasions,2 cups, 6 cups and 12 cups (espresso cops). However I do also have this: which makes absolutely amazing coffee (and steam-heats milk) - but it takes a bit more time and effort. And I absolutely detest the french press - it destroys coffee with its evil ways. Finally I would really like to try Kopi Luwak coffee. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kopi_Luwak) Basically some jungle cat in southeast asia selects the best and ripest coffee-berries and eats them, its digestive system only affects the beans a little (supposedly some enzymes change the taste in just the right delicious way). People then gather the beans from the - well - cat-shits, clean them and roast them a little. Ground, add water and you have Kopi Luwak. It is the most expensive beverage in the world, around 500 pounds is produced each year - and it sells at around 600$ a pound! Brown gold indeed.
  17. Obligatory iPhone thread

There should be a term for the amount of time it takes before you are willing to accept scracthes and other signs of wear and tear on gadgets (or anything new for that matter). If something is new and shiny and you scratch it on day one - you really get annoyed. But as time goes by, the image of you owning this thing sinks into a part of your reality-perception where you accept that things get scratched. (Excerpt from my new book: "Gadget-psychology - The one true Path" (not really))
  18. How did you find Idle Forums?

But why is the girl wearing a bra - that is surely wrong. EDIT: HAhahaa - same post at the same time - how beautiful
  19. How did you find Idle Forums?

I truly don't know. Magic possibly. For some incomprehensible reason I have just hanged around. Now for example I should really be finishing a paper on war-research in prehistory which is due tuesday - but nooo - idling it is...
  20. Painting my room

Wow - this guy (from blog just mentioned) - is a crazyiii collector...
  21. Painting my room

Yes I think YT would work absolutely amazing with your PK. Don't KJ, but DSW. sorry
  22. I've pre-ordered a Kitten :D

argh - now I just got you started on your terrible cutesy stories about cats. Please stop it. (yes yes it is a thread about cats - but but .. ahh ok I'll just leave...)*
  23. yeah - it is a very sensitive issue that is very difficult to discuss in any constructive way. If you want to continue please discern between the terms zionists and jews. Zionism is a political movement that worked towards and constructed the state of Israel. It is mostly the zionists who are responsible for how Israel looks today. Jews is a bunch of a lot of different people - and generalizing about jews is as narrow-minded (and probably an even more sensitive issue) as generalizing about muslims.
  24. I've pre-ordered a Kitten :D

Why do everyone love pictures of kittens doing *cutycute* stuff. They are all over the net - it kills me. It's like a bizarre brain-melting disease - aww look it's a kitty that looks like it's riding an invisible bicycle - ARGh. e.g. http://thefunniest.info/top.html --out of 40 pictures 4 of them are with kittens/cats, that is 10% of the 'funniest' pictures in the world are supposedly something with kittens. Wtf. Generally I hate anthromophized animals being funny via describing text - ha ha. No its not funny. (I'm out on a limb, sorry)
