  1. All this 'new leaked info' about Wii...

What we need more of are this: and this:
  2. All this 'new leaked info' about Wii...

The gamecube has been around long enough for the shops to get rid of the stock through sales or returns to distributor and the UMDs clearly aren't going anywhere. Some shops also do deals where they agree to maintain a display for a certain period of time in return for some free stuff (like the display stand itself, demo booths and that sort of thing).
  3. Pure fried youtube gold!

Funny video and all, but is that supposed to be the News? Jesus Christ, people! They had closeups of his mouth and everything! Kirsty Wark would have their heads.
  4. All this 'new leaked info' about Wii...

There's no reason why someone couldn't just make a wii-mote for the good old gamecube and back-port a lot of the wii games. It's ok for me because I don't own a gamecube, and it's ok for people that do own gamecubes because they tend to overlook nintendo's miserly costcutting measures (value-added features!) because, you know, Mario and stuff. In no way does slightly dated hardware approach the unfathomable screwing-over of the Bluray drive in the PS3. F*cking blue lasers will ruin me.

Man, Yufster, you're such a fanboygirl. All your stuff is about how Nintendo is magic and Sony is stealing ideas from under people's pillows at night.
  6. NSMB for £20!

While we're on the subject of sexy DS deals: Gyakuten Saiban (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) is at Play-Asia for €23.67 (£16) and has dual language (English/Japanese chosen at main menu). (Disclosure: that's an affiliate link)
  7. Hey, now, those guys pay my salary!

Yeah, I played it on zsnes a few years ago. I thought it was a nice idea but it gets real dull after a few evolutions. I think I got out of the water at least... I remember the music being pretty good.
  11. What are you playing today?

What I am playing today (as opposed to two weeks ago or whenever this thread started) are: Prey:- Mostly fun, has some really dull/samey bits at times but keeps things interesting with a clever idea now and then. Nothing special, though. Seiken Densetsu: Children of Mana (DS Import):- Sort of text heavy (my Japanese isn't good enough to pick up a lot of the story) but because the game is pretty much a bunch of dungeon hacks stuck together, it works out good in the end. The combat system is enjoyable and you're given enough options between weapons and magic to employ a variety of strategies depending on your fancy. No singlecart multiplayer though, which is a shame because that would have been great. Mario Kart DS:- I don't own this, but some guys at work have it and we play during lunch breaks and any other time we can get away with. It's a game that really needs other people in order to shine.
  12. Spore preview (hands-on, not demo-ed)

If they did that, Eurogamer would explode in a resonance cascade of hype
  13. Cancel the Simpsons?

The show peaked at the Scorpio episode and it's been downhill ever since. On Fridays the lunchroom serves hotdogs and burgers and beer! He loves German beer!
  14. I have just had the weirdest day....

    Apologies to Oath
  15. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

Wow man, way to go bat fuck insane
  16. What are you playing today?

MI2 more than makes up for the insult nonsense with the scene in Elaine's bedroom where you try and convince her to give you the map piece.
  17. Team Fortress 2 and Portal

Hee, I think that Portal trailer had the effect of killing narbacular drop's server. I assume it's running on source, so can a multiplayer mod really be that far off anyway? I got HL2:Ep1 a couple of days ago, it's freaking expensive after tax ($25!) and I'm not convinced that there's enough new content there to justify the price; Minerva is pretty much the same thing but free. The super-bundle Ep2 sounds like it has great value for money, though.
  18. Camel Strike

Evil Giraffe is thinking much too small, I'm expanding the gamespace to incorporate the powerful conflict and drama of Good vs Evil. You may go the way of the Good Giraffe and ensure the sustainability of your food stock, or you can become Evil Giraffe and plunder your neighbours territory for every last damn leaf you can get, which is your birthright! Features: -Over 20 Giraffe Force Powers including Force Giraffe Persusasion, and Force Giraffe Lightning! -Dozens of trees and bushes to feed from. Which one will you like best? -Epic Multiplayer modes: Giraffe Deathmatch, Capture the Shrub, Some other crap with giraffes in it! Coming Q2 2007
  19. Camel Strike

You need to balance your leaf eating with judicious pooping to ensure new growth of leaves later on in the game. Much of the skill in playing involves timing your poops to take best advantage of the sporadic savannah rainfalls.
  20. Camel Strike

What I want to see is a driving stage where the camel is on the back of a giraffe, and the giraffe is standing on a swamp hoverboat. They are chasing terrorists.
  21. Camel Strike

This is why you guys write about games instead of making them.
  22. I've tried it on the city bus a couple of times, it's pretty tough to play (if you rest it on your knee, the shocks and judders carry through to the DS and makes it hard to accurately hit the screen). It's worst in insane because the targets are smallest. I usually play sort of hunched up on a chair with it rested on a knee
  23. Japanese Candy Lecommendations!

I have a Children of Mana order (freaking awesome discount, dude) due to arrive any day now from Play-Asia and I ordered a bag of Happy Candy Wild Strawberry Candy. I don't know if it'll arrive before you make your order but I'll tell you what they're like anyway. I wanted to get the Shuwa Puccho drops because it's kind of creepy (if you've seen Grave of the Fireflies) but they weigh a bit too much and the shipping is sort of high. Let me know what the quantity of sweets inside is like so I can figure out if I think it's worth it throwing them in with my next order. I hear that the Banana Chocos are awesome, I might get some too. If all you really want is candy (and aren't just throwing them in with Video game orders like I am) then Jlist/JBox is a good place to try. They have Pocky and Black Black and those biscuits shaped like fish. The Genius Bakabon Russian Roulette candy looks fun; you get 7 wrapped sweets, one of which has a really hot spicy flavour. There are some cool chewing gums there too, one of which is like cotton candy, and some others have roast coffee flavour.
  24. Grim Fandango Movie Rumors

I caught this rumour when it was pretty much the MovieCenter blog thing, and it's clearly horseshit. The interview that the Grim quote is from is found at about.com and scifi and a bunch of other sites but without that Grim stuff. Some of the stuff attributed to Burton in the moviecenter blog is actually Helena Bonham Carter or Johnny Depp. I'm surprised it's gotten this far.
  25. I think you might have posted this in the wrong forum, buddy...
