Beloved Uwe Boll to start his next directing adventure in July
RLacey replied to Kolzig's topic in Movies & Television
I prefer YOU'RE WINNER! myself... -
AAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I got this game free with a magazine subscription. It is the most relentlessly hard, unfair, unfun space shooter I have EVER played. I've never made it beyond the second level, and it has pissed me off so much. Unless you have the patience of a saint, never EVER play this game. Get Tyrian instead. Tyrian 2000 was a Windows-compatible rerelease made way after. I'm not sure how much new content there is, but not much.

AAARRGGGHHH! I have this game (Amstrad). I am going to look for the disc in a minute.
-
I am *so* going to enter (not that I'll win).
-
I obviously need to watch more films, for I have yet to answer correctly.

There aren't many bald actors in Smallville, though ...

Get one of the Dell PDAs. About as cheap as you're going to get...

Your Console Story! Or how I ended up with a Sega Genesis.
RLacey replied to netmonkey's topic in Video Gaming
I didn't get a SNES until six or seven years ago. I'd always wanted one, but my parents had a thing about me buying consoles. I eventually managed to purchase a SNES from someone at the choir I was singing in for £30, complete with Super Mario World and Stargate. It had been played only once . -
I ignore store clerks except for when I want them to look for something for me. I find it safer to rely on my own knowledge and memory of reviews...

OK, level with me. As someone who has managed to avoid all of the Battlefield games so far, will I enjoy this if I download the demo? Or will I just get pissed off by the snipers?
-
I'll wait before I just start slagging it off. We don't complain about Omaha Beach levels, now do we?

I wish that my exams were already over. Though I know full well that I'll get stuck in a mission half-way through and never even get to see all the areas of the game ...

The end of this thread in alliterative form: Surely soon? So sweet. Silence. Success.

No. Game Group bought Game.net from EB. EB no longer have any presence in the UK, and do not own Game.net. More information at www.gamegroup.plc.uk. It appears that they have owned your beloved game shops since 2001, though.

HappyBirthday!

They're a UK-based games store that was at one point merged with Electronics Boutique before Game Group PLC bought the company out from EB. I think.

But how will US publishers cope without top, bottom and right flaps????

I'm no financial expert, but I suspect that game costs might be higher than they are presently if all new games came in huge boxes with a ton of junk. I've seen many games that come in special boxes to include extra stuff, or because things didn't fit into DVD cases - Neverwinter Nights, Civilization 3 and Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Silver Earring[i/] spring immediately to mind. Personally - and feel free to disagree with me here - I like having a smaller piece of coverart and fewer screenshots because it forces designers to attempt to make what they have look striking; if you need a magnifying glass then the person responsible for designing the cover art has failed. That and I've seen some really ludicrous boxes. Thinking about it, I always used to put the box somewhere after I looked at it, leaving me with just a tiny CD case to look at regularly. With DVD cases, the canvas is actually slightly bigger! Stupidity, thy name is Lacey.
-
I much prefer a DVD case, with the manual immediately to hand, then the crap I've received whenever I've imported anything American - a cardboard box with some paper sleeves containing the CDs. Is that the way to treat an expensive new game? PAPER SLEEVES!!??

Play the Quest for Cheese MOD thing. Once.

I may go to this. I may not. Too many things are conspiring against me at the moment...

Remember not to play Beneath a Steel Sky with it. You wouldn't believe how annoying it is to raid a cupboard right at the beginning of the game...

Computerified. I think I still have my Lego somewhere. Probably wherever the Duplo and Sticklebrix are...
