  1. Fur rendering?

They're getting somewhere with normal hair too now. Just take a look at the latest nvidia demo (of the mermaid). Well, that was of course underwater... so I have a feeling that they haven't quite figured out how to make it fall naturally yet I may be wrong, though, but there's got to be a reason I haven't seen any good demos of long hair. Short hair is easy to do.
  2. Fur rendering?

This is a demo from when the 8500 was new and fresh. Better fur can be made today utilizing shaders and stuff, but I haven't found any other good demos showcasing fur. http://www.ati.com/developer/samples/3rdparty/tomohide_fur.03.13.02.zip The graphics chipset for the cube was made by ArtX, which was later aquired by ATI. Dave Orton (the current ATI CEO), whom many credit for ATI's turnaround, was with ArtX when they were aquired.
  3. Misse & Murre in space

I was finally able to get a decent throw. My personal highscore is now at 7690
  4. DS, PSP ...... N-gage? (neh)

If I'm going to pick one up, it will probably be the DS. Like you said, the PSP is big, and it probably chews batteries like candies. And it's probably going to be costy... I'm not sure if I'm ready to pay $300 for a handheld. I have this feeling that the games for the PSP will be more complex too, which may be a stupid thought... I dunno
  5. I prefer having one good ending instead of ten bad endings... I almost never replay games anyway (unless it's a game like Civilization, etc, where there's no linear story at all), so the multiple endings are wasted on people like me too. The exception is adventure games, where I replay the classics with an interval of a few years (so I don't remember the whole story when I replay it) Last one up was Day of the Tentacle, and the next one will probably be Sam & Max or Monkey Island 2... Just have to finish my exams first
  6. F.E.A.R. - first person combat meets Silent Hill?

Oh... Man... I'm going to piss my pants when I play this game
  7. Yeah, they made awesome games... Don't forget Dungeon Keeper. It's a classic As you may know, Peter Molyneux was the head of Bullfrog, so Lionhead (and its satellite studios) are probably the closest we get to Bullfrog these days... PS: Sorry for derailing this topic even more
  8. Misse & Murre in space

    Neither have I
  9. Yeah, current game-characters are too stiff. Their body language is all wrong, and they often stare into open-air. Half-Life 2 impressed me, and Brothers in Arms looks just as impressive (judging from the E3 footage). We're in a transition here... Things haven't stalled here. It is going to get better. And yeah, the problem occurs when the devs are striving for making everything as real as possible. Any small error will be magnified because it's such a contrast to the good stuff... Well, anyway, that's my theory
  10. F.E.A.R. - first person combat meets Silent Hill?

Open this URL in Windows Media Player if you want to see the video at for example 200%. It's the same clip as on that GameSpot page, but when it's embedded in the webpage, you're only able to view it at 100% (too damn small) or full screen (too damn ugly)... I think it looks good. Sparks and smoke everywhere. I hope the controls for melee combat is easy to work with. Monolith did a great job with the level of suspense in AvP2 (especially playing as a marine), and this one supposedly has horror-elements, so... http://www.gamespot.com/live/stream_asx.html?speed=100&push=1&path=fear_pt1_0609.asx
  11. Dreamfall blows

I'll just blame the extremely stupid typo on me being tired
  12. Dreamfall blows

If you knew anything about TLG, you'd know that there's one modern world and one technological world. So the "rustic eastern-european town during winter" shit doesn't hold up. Find a new argument. So that probably means you haven't played TLG at all. Perhaps you should give it a try instead of bitching at it on forums. Not sure how you can even judge the game like you do before actually playing it. All we've seen is a few screenshots. Jeeze.
