You might need to work on your self-promotion skills.

Well apparently they had real difficulty getting any attention in the press, so that's partially why they're doing so badly. I should have posted this link sooner and helped out a bit! Oop :-/

Those "Making of" Star Wars and Indiana Jones books are supposed be amazing.

Would love to read this, as an old Amiga freak, but it's obscenely expensive. I'd be more than happy with an eBook version for less.

Christ, it's Half Life, you'd think they could find SOMEONE who could say a few lines properly. There's a million out of work actors who would love to get some work -- even if it's for free -- and there's a ton of websites for getting in touch with them, too. There's really no excuse for poor voice acting. A good director can get a good performance out of just about anybody, so it's likely that whoever was in charge of the VO just doesn't have the ear for it.

Hmm! I'm not sure what you mean by "GRRM knowing his characters pretty well". Does that mean it's just Eddard's POV, rather than GRRM saying, "Damn, I need to give the reader this bit of information. They shouldn't waste their time wondering about the truth of it. They should be wondering about other things. It's absolutely true, so I'll just give them a few reasons to believe it and move on."

Brave is excellent, as you'd expect from Pixar (ignoring Cars), but it's a lot more of a straightforward story. Still great, though. The little film beforehand was wonderful, too. The Imposter is also excellent. Go watch it. Shame to hear God Bless America is a let down. I LOVED World's Greatest Dad. I'd hate to have it ruined by GBA.

Damn. Now I'm seriously intrigued, although I'm still halfway through book one! I'm loving the "no real bad guy" stuff. So this just happened:

Sounds like a robot!

Well narratively Peacewalker is a sequel to MGS3. It follows on perfectly. I've heard it's worth watching the POps cutscenes on YouTube, as they're the only bits worth seeing. Also, there's no real spoilers in this thread, I'm still very early in the game.

30% through now. Still really enjoying it. Every time the book switches to another character I'm like, "Oh, I'm not that interested in them", but by the end of the chapter I'm totally engrossed in their story. Sorry to keep posting, but I kind of what to talk to people about it, but the only people I know have read the whole book, or seen all the series... and they'll likely spoil something if I talk for too long about it. This is quite a safe alternative I'm up to the bit where .

I've not played POps, but I'm pretty sure I heard that Kojima wasn't pleased with it, which is (perhaps) one of the reasons he made Peacewalker.

I don't know what your budget is, but some backpacking friends of mine from the US swore by this Youth Hostel: http://www.tripadvis...on_England.html However, looking at the reviews, you may wish to spend more? :-/

I've just set everything to "Auto-Assign" and it's working fine for me. Also, 360 as well as PS3

I was actually feeling the opposite, it was nice meeting the artists, but it was casually mentioned that Tim had been so busy with business stuff that he hasn't had time to work on DFA. In the end he had to hire someone. As much fun as it was seeing where Peter Chan works, I was more interested in hearing more about production problems. Fingers crossed the next one will have more "warty sausages" in it. -
I am 12% through book one (Kindle). Still enjoying it! I feel like I'm still seeing the world being set up for the story to really start kicking in, though.

Yep, that's true. The artwork we've seen has only been test artwork so far, too. Nothing featuring actual characters or locations from the final game. -

Distaste for Kickstarter?? Okay. Anyhow, I think it's the stiffness of the characters that makes them look so unreal and unpleasant. I hope they come up with something more beautiful by the time it's released. -
The Great Giana Sister's Kickstarter.
ThunderPeel2001 replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
That's a shame. I guess the Giana Sisters are still a little too cult. -

I don't mind the art style, it's the animation that kills it. If they fix that, I'll be happy with the cell shading. Anyways... backed! -

Wha...? Why not Beneath A Steel Sky 2??? Oh well. As long as I don't have to play BS 3 and 4 to enjoy this one. Edit: Ugh. Why does George Stobbart suddenly look all "heroic"? *sob* -
I have no idea. Actually, I think if you play with the IDLE crew activated, it all adds to the crew score, no matter what version you're playing. That's kind of cool. I guess. Sort of. Hmmm.
