  1. Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube

I just thought it was pretty insightful. Not sure I'd call it "black", but hey, each to their own.
  2. Life

Ok, so I'm allowed to respond if she gets in touch first, right?

    Wow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRs845qUepE
  4. Mass Effect 2

Oh! I almost forgot. The PC version of ME2 is absolutely fucking retarded in some ways. For example: The loading videos play through completely, even if the game has actually finished loading. WTF? Thankfully some genius made the following replacement videos: http://social.biowar...3070/blog/3198/ Here's the difference they make: (From 16 seconds to TWO seconds.) Note: I got a glitch when I was controlling Joker, if that happens, switch back your old videos, play that part, and then switch them back again. Easy!

I'd totally argue for its effectiveness. Although it has its cheesy moments, it's also grueling! No idea why they lightened the tone of the sequel (perhaps related to Raimi getting taken to court in the UK?), but I sure love the whole trilogy
  6. First PC in 9 years; what should I play?

    Why is this?
  7. Life

I think people do it for a myriad of reasons. Like when it comes around to when you'd said you'd call someone, you really don't feel like it. Or you're busy. Or you're tired. It's annoying, but that's people for you.

The best thing about Evil Dead is that it's an effective horror movie. ED2 and ED3 were silly, the first one wasn't.
  9. Mass Effect 2

So it's all done. Although there were some great improvements over ME (characters, dialogue, action sequences, interface, levelling up system, level design), I was pretty damned fatigued when I finally made it to the end. It just seemed overlong. The planet scanning was a nightmare -- although it turns out that I did it far more than I actually needed to. (I think I had 500K of everything by the end, not including Element Zero.) I just don't think the story was particularly interesting compared to the first one (and the first one was only really interesting in the beginning and ending), except for at the beginning. I enjoyed the twist, and the way this was a "new" Shephard. Now onto ME3. I hope it doesn't take 40 hours to complete, like ME2 did.
  10. Mass Effect 2

    Cool.
  11. Mass Effect 2

I'm confused. So you'd recommend that tell the above to stay on the ship, right?
  12. Movie/TV recommendations

I haven't watched the trailer, but I have hopes for a return to a more traditional (and less "torture porn") horror movie. Especially with Raimi producing.
  13. Mass Effect 2

    Saywhatnow?
  14. Mass Effect 2

I used a Savegame editor to carefully change my character to an Infiltrator. Plus, now I'm on the penultimate mission, I'm trying harder to play it the way you've described. It's a little late in the game, but at least I can enjoy the ending
  15. Life

    I know the feeling.
  16. Life

It sounds like your daily texts would have made her feel you were still obsessing over her. I don't see any reason why you can't salvage a friendship from this, but you're probably going have to just forgo initialising any contact with her for a while.
  17. GTA V

It wasn't a total waste, I enjoyed improving my LA geography with its super accurate map
  18. GTA V

I just did a bit of research and that list I posted was a hoax! Damn, I'm lame for not checking. My bad!
  19. GTA V

It was? I think it was all taken from the Game Informer article? What makes you say it's largely bullshit?
  20. Fresh Kickstarter Compendium Extraordinaire

    David Fincher!
  21. GTA V

Yep. But it's clear they're just reading a script.
  22. GTA V

The reason The Day Today (and Brass Eye for that matter -- but that's different) ended is simply because they'd done what they'd set out to do. They could have easily kept writing it, but it wouldn't have been as fresh or as provocative. The humour they produced wasn't particularly difficult, it just hadn't been done before (to that level at least). Since GTA apparently wants to go down the same path, I thought it was interesting to show an intelligent example. To be honest, I think it's easily within the grasp of both Houser and Lazlow, but it requires a strong voice, and I don't think either of them know what they're actually trying to say (other than get a laugh by any means possible... and so you have Tw@t Internet Cafe's, Pissweiser Beer, etc. etc.).
  23. GTA V

Plus, it doesn't make fun of the atrocities, it just makes fun of a really bad news reporter
