  1. Far Cry 3

All that fits perfectly with what I read from the RPS interview with the writer (can't be arsed to find the link ATM). Seems they really did try to make a satire game but just ended up making a game that is roughly the same as the object of their satire (or worse, considering all the annoying pop-ups and whatever). Note: still haven't played it myself.
  2. Steam Linux

Nevermind, I found where it stored the data (~/.local/share/Steam), cleaned up and reinstalled it. It was the standard Steam subscriber agreement stuff, but I wonder why it let me continue before when I clicked disagree.
  3. Steam Linux

Yeah, doesn't work for me either. Tried Superbrothers and SpaceChem. SpaceChem asked for permissions to do something but visually appears it still didn't do it.
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

And so begins the wait whether the game I want that is 25-50% off until January 5 will actually be even cheaper on some specific day. I'll probably buy Chaos on Deponia right now though. Not sure if I'm interested in their other games.
  5. General Video Game Deals Thread

I bought Far Cry 2 at full (although cheapish 9€) price yesterday (to get the Fortune's Pack, plus wanted it on Steam instead of the physical one) Should have looked at the calendar.
  6. Waking Mars

I've been playing the Steam release. This game is awesome! I think occasionally it gets a bit repetititve but the cave system is way huger and more interesting than I thought. The progression feels a bit like Metroidvania, or at least I'm playing as if it was.
  7. So theoretically should I be able to sell these things on the Steam Community Market or should I go to a third party site?
  8. The Steam Community Market
  9. PS when I go to the Market and try to sell an item it says that I have nothing in my inventory. is that normal?
  10. I guess I didn't do too bad then, getting a 27€ game for 2 of thos items (plus a hat which I don't even remember what it was). Now I'm waiting till Max's Head goes up to 1M USD and I'm rich!
  11. He asked for Max's head too but I refused. Are the Sam & Max things particularly sought after for some reason? Quote from that link you posted: "As far as monetary value, at a time Max was worth $100+. But those days are long gone. Best of luck."
  12. Waking Mars

This is out on Steam now. Instabought and it's great so far.
  13. Batman: Arkham City

So the main mode 100% completed, is there anything interesting in the Campaign or whatever the extra game modes are? I did like the ones in Arkham Asylum somewhat, but if this is more of the same I'm not going to bother.
  14. Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight 2012

I looked at the video for a bit and Hack'n'Slash actually seems really good. Maybe that's just because I'm a programmer.
  15. Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight 2012

I only saw Space Base and Black Lake so fur but had the same impression. Nothing about Space Base seemed awfully interesting so far, but then that might be a general issue with prototyping that type of game -- you probably can't really make a very interesting prototype without all the interacting systems and you can't put them all into a prototype.
  16. Batman: Arkham City

Augmented Reality Training Activated Augmented Reality Training Failed I'll never hear those words again. Whew!
  17. The Hobbit...

Just for the record, I admitted to being rude by apologizing for being rude. At the moment of uttering the rudeness it seemed appropriate, because it really was totally baffling to have a book I happened to like a lot at some point in my life suddenly called a non-book -- that seemed provocative/rude in itself at the time. Later I saw I was wrong and apologised. All that was hopefully cleared up by now. I don't know how you read all that into "I can agree it's mainly a childrens book". I've read The Hobbit at least 4 times, but don't remember having re-read it as an adult. I'd probably still like it. I'd say it's a childrens book that adults can enjoy, but still written mainly for children or young adults.
  18. The Hobbit...

I can agree with it being mostly a children's book. Sorry for being rude.
  19. The Hobbit...

In what sense is Hobbit a non-book?
  20. Batman: Arkham City

Yeah, the city was actually quite fun to mess around in. I loved getting the riddler trophies and plan to get them all possibly. Once the credits have rolled is there any point where the game ends and doesn't let me play as either Catwoman or Batman any more? I'm not really interested in New Game +, but just want to do all the optional stuff now.
  21. The Hobbit...

    WTF does that even mean?
  22. Batman: Arkham City

Finished the game finally (or well, there's still some catwoman bit going on, but the main story seems done). It was surprisingly short. I thought it would be bigger longer etc. compared to Arkham Asylum, but it seems shorter even. I didn't care much about the story, but it was fun to fly around the city with so much room to maneuver. The portrayal of female characters was annoying.
  23. Mark of the Ninja

I'm starting to think that endings that you decide just before are a cop-out. The designer wanted to please everyone or couldn't make a decision as to which ending suits the story the most so they made two. Bah. Just pick one. Applies to Deus Ex: HR and Dishonored (somewhat) and Mark of the Ninja, Stalker and so on.
  24. The funniest delivery would be a computer-generated voice like Microsoft Sam reading the dialogue.
