My thought is that after the initial 1 or 2 hours I spent, I just haven't found the desire to go back to it. Not sure why.
  2. Surgeon Simulator 2013

Haha. The QWOP must go on.
  3. Wasteland 2

I don't agree. That would be about as annoying as the ass creed / far cry popups. Whereas a log window that you can turn off and/or ignore if you want is much better.
  4. Assassin's Creed: Mohawk

You mean the thing that's in the top left? Apparently that can't be turned off, but it is annoying. Enjoying the game so far. I didn't even mind the long time it takes before the game opens up.
  5. Assassin's Creed: Mohawk

So far so good. At least not as disappointing as I thought. I decided to turn off the HUD this time, and only enabled SSI, which also shows where you need to go. That seems essential as without it I'd either be constantly switching to map or wandering aimlessly. The new environments, different time period, and slight changes to character movement make it seem new & interesting again. But of course, after a while I recognized that many elements are still much the same, just look a bit different.
  6. Assassin's Creed: Mohawk

I was planning to buy this on Steam when it goes on sale, but saw it in a local store for only 30€ so got it. I'm expecting to be disappointed and hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
  7. Brütal Legend on PC!

These news are of the most excellent variety! Did not expect.
  8. Because of this: For some reason I didn't notice the same problem with Resonance. I think it was actually 320x240 instead of 320x200? Or maybe I just didn't try it in windowed mode.
  9. Games giveaway

Why do you want real money for it? Seems more efficient to trade it for games.
  10. Have you ever fainted?

I've almost fainted once as a kid when I cut my finger almost to the bone and it bled pretty heavily. I think I also administered cold water. I don't know what fainting would feel like exactly, I just got dizzy and had to lie down for a minute. Later I've gotten a bit dizzy a few times, but never fainted.
  11. Wasteland 2

Keywords are not necessarily bad. There seems to be a lot of text, which might be good on one hand, but not so good on the other (having to just stand there and read a lot).
  12. Plug your shit

That was interesting! (although I skipped some bits) What I've always wanted to know is how they handle all the parkour/collisions thing, I wonder if there's been any info on that (it shouldn't be as easy to deduce as graphics thingies)
  13. Recently completed video games

Hm.. I thought there was a thread for Deponia, but couldn't find one, so posting here. Completed Chaos on Deponia, and it was pretty much as good as the first game, except Rufus was more often annoying this time. I had to peek at a walkthrough a couple of times when the puzzles seemed to require rather inane solutions*, but I think overall the puzzles were better this time. *
  14. Wasteland 2

The video seems to be taken down
  15. Risen 2: Rise Harder

Outcast: Risen 2: (that isn't the worst, but I can't be arsed to look for other videos) Also does the embedding not work because I added the time?
  16. Risen 2: Rise Harder

    deleted
  17. Risen 2: Rise Harder

Maybe, but I don't remember Outcast's being so bad.
  18. Risen 2: Rise Harder

I bought this on a Steam sale and while I liked all the Gothic and Risen games before, this one did not start off with a good impression. I can't say exactly what makes it feel really different even about moving around and controls, but it somehow appears a whole lot sloppier already in the beginning sequences: characters wave their hands around in inane gestures and poses camera keeps jumping around mid-dialogue horizontal and vertical mouse sensitivity is off: horiz too fast, but if you make it slower, then vertical will be awfully slow the very first tutorial keeps reminding me to open my logbook after i've done it several times there seem to be lots of notifications by default Anyone else played it? How well does it compare to Risen 1?
  19. Show me your desk/gaming space

Very nice setup. Makes me slightly ashamed of my very rudimentary one.
  20. I remember a day when I wasted a few hours trying to get my new DELL's webcam drivers -- turned out the machine just physically didn't have a webcam. A fact I had ignored thinking that all laptops must come with webcams. (also the same model had a variant with webcam I think)
  21. Antichamber

Wow! Nicely designed game. Played about an hour or less, more right now would hurt my brain. For now, it seems that you can never really get stuck, as there are so many things to do in each direction. I can't imagine how something like this is designed.
  22. Aha, that might have been it! Thanks. PS why MS security essentials over AVG?
  23. Feminism

I actually did understand what Luftmensch was saying, but I don't see how it helps anything -- it's just an issue of classification. If the goal is to reduce harassment of women, then arguing that maybe some of that harassment isn't motivated by sexism is not constructive. Sure, actually other people get harassed too, it's really intolerance of the different that is usually the reason behind it, not specifically sexism, I think. But sexism vs. feminism seems to be a major battlefield in the invisible war on intolerance, so I don't think it helps at all to say that maybe some of what seems sexism really might not be exactly sexism, because that might do nothing but muddy the waters.
  24. I've always used a vacuum for cleaning my desktop machine. Should get me one of those compressed air thingies.
