  1. Happy Birthday Loonyboi!

    Happy Birthday!
  2. The Long Tail

Sorry for this again, but Andy Baio's waxy.org/links is becoming my favourite site/blog ever... I'm constantly finding great stuff there... This I actually found linked to in some other site, but I started from waxy: The Long Tail Forget squeezing millions from a few megahits at the top of the charts. The future of entertainment is in the millions of niche markets at the shallow end of the bitstream. A great read about the (near) future of the entertainment industry. Probably applies to games as well.

  4. Yes or No?

Whoa. haven't watched the news lately... So they actually said no (I was kind of expecting them to vote yes even though blabla)... It'll be interesting to see what happens now. We're not going to have a vote about it anyway, our parliament is going to decide 'yes'.
  5. Game controller family tree

It looks like it doubles as a CD player.
  6. Idle Thumbs Giveaway!! - DOOM III Xbox

I bet my carrot juice could beat up your mountain dew.
  7. Just watched Wright's presentation. I got the feeling like I had seen it before... Or something similar. Was there another presentation before this or perhaps the same video was available elsewhere? Anyway, Spore is looking really cool, I can't wait to play (with) it.
  8. More cool web stuff...

links found on http://waxy.org/links http://mindset.research.yahoo.com/ -- slider moving between "shopping" and "research" reorders the search results (or something like that). http://flickr.com/groups/lifehack/pool/ -- lifehack photos

  10. or burnt

    or too little...
  11. Gears of War on HelloGamer

Vietcong had it too. Vietcong was actually pretty good. For a while, at least. Didn't play that much.
  12. Congratulations. A winner are I.

TFT. It's fucking titled though. (it can rotate from landscape to portrait and if I push it all the way till the final "click", it's fucking tilted). So I have to not turn it all the way and that means if I accidentally touch it I will have to readjust.. Baah. Just my luck...
  13. POP3 still generic, still raging

Wait a minute... The generic, smoldering Prince from Warrior Within is now called THE LIGHT PRINCE. And he sometimes transforms into a dark prince, who is more extreme than ever... Hmm...
  14. My review of E3

I was bored and sleepy at worked. I payed a visit to GameSpot and noticed it was E3. It went something like this: Boring.
  15. Happy birthday thunderpeel and Glen(n?)

    Happy birthday!
  16. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - latest screenshots

My problem with the graphics is... take a look at this. While the forrest scenes and other exteriors I've seen so far look beautiful, the interior screens like this one just don't: http://www.idlethumbs.net/screenshot.php?id=900&article=116 compare to: http://www.idlethumbs.net/screenshot.php?id=897&article=116 It seems like a totally different level of technology is being used and they just look violently different. But these graphics are probably not final so I don't care yet.
  17. My review of E3

I've watched the whole Sony PS3 movie now and started watching the Xbox presentation. The conclusion: There's going to be a lot of transforming going on. It's all going to be very extreme. Sony is a little full of shit, but at least seems to have a clear vision... Microsoft is full a lot of shit and wants to be cool and extreme, and to do lots of transforming... Also, I learned that boxers go through a wide variety of emotions during a match... raning from furious anger to confusion
  18. Hapland

    Hapland 2 seems even harder.
  19. Ps3

"convex hull" just sounds cooler, so obviously the PS3 is the better console. Have you seen the ducks / eyetoy / glasses demo? I downloaded the huge 1.1 GB video of the PS3 presentation at work and I've been watching some bits from it. That was totally awesome. If you don't know what I'm talking about -- it was a physics demo with some rubber ducks and boats in a bathtub. Then they connected an eyetoy. A guy held two mulage* glasses (or something) in his hands which affected the movement of two glasses in the game. He could actually move them into the water and fill them and it all looked quite realistic. Tactile interfaces my ass, this ruled! [edit]* apparently the English language doesn't have the word 'mulage' (it should, though). What I meant was 'butafor' or something like that. Wait, you don't have the word 'butafor' either. Ok, 'fake' or whatever.
  20. Indiana Jones - new in gaming (!)

Have some carrot juice! It's great!
  21. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - latest screenshots

Why are you talking about medieval times? It's a completely different universe, and not obliged to follow our own historic details.
  22. Indiana Jones - new in gaming (!)

Are you guys braindead? They didn't say anything wrong there... "Z, including X and Y" certainly doesn't mean that they think Z also doesn't include M and N.
  23. PCI-Express vs. AGP?

I just took a look. Only one place sells it here and it costs 1125$...
