Actually, I changed my mind. Not having a plan B is reasonable... For constantly developing a plan B you'd have to possibly waste double the resources. The EU is already bureaucratic enough.

Cool. But I think it would be even more interesting to see the timeline of these events in their original publishing order.

This is great.

Indeed, but so does any IDE that has features comparable to Eclipse. I haven't tested, but supposedly the new 3.1 stream versions take less memory (at least they certainly load times faster). I sometimes do wish Eclipse had a lightweight version that could work as a "simple" text editor a'la EditPlus 2, though. Ok, back to pirating: I have almost given it up, maybe mainly because I don't have time to try out as many games as I used to. And it seems too much of a hussle to download them if I'm not going to play them a lot. I've started instead buying the few games that I know I will like and play a lot (GTA: SA for PS2, Half-Life 2 recently). Current plans include buying GTA: SA for PC, and possibly Psychonauts and Knights of Honor (which I've already played actually), but I haven't seen them in local stores yet (except KoH). Sometimes I still download some crappier games though, like Prince of Persia: The Bad One. Simply had to because it was the sequel to Sands of Time. I'm probably going to download and play Prince of Persia: The Really Bad One, too, for the same reason.

Yay! I switched to OpenOffice recently (2.0 Beta) and I hardly notice any difference between it and MS Office. And Eclipse almost gives me a hard on. I've become obsessed with it and read related blogs'n'stuff daily. Too bad I can't use the Java Developement Tools at work yet, because the Web Tools part of it isn't quite mature enough yet. If they fix the bugs I've experienced in the 0.7 release I'll try to switch. I have already started using BIRT in one of our projects where we needed a report engine quickly. And recently I took a look at some of the Eclipse-related research projects (under the Technology project) -- they have some totally awesome things going on.

The only missions I really hated were ones that required very precise aiming -- I found that impossible with the PS2 controller. I mean these: I think I got the last mission on the first try. Had some really really close calls, though, james bond like.

Just saw it. I also think it was possibly the best comic based movie I've seen. I haven't really read comics for years though and haven't liked many movies based on them, except Tim Burton's Batman and maybe the sequel. Also, I agree with the critisism about overly dramatic boomerangs in the latter half of the movie.

Somewhy I thought that photo was a reference to "Stand By Me".

repeatedly? Yeah, that would be best.

Same here. Guess the google and similar things are much more fun.

I agree. It's just too much of a mess to be as easy to use as Windows. But I wish there was a less productivity-hampering open source operating system out there. In other news: after trying Ubuntu, Fedora Core and SuSE 64-bit versions and they all failed, I finally got SuSE working, but only with the framebuffer (fbdev) video driver. I heard the ATI driver won't work on linux kernels with a combination of AMD64, PCI-Express and something else... Also, I've installed 64-bit WinXP Professional some weeks ago (you can get a two month[or was it more] trial from MS website) and it's not worth it yet -- 64-bit drivers seem to exist only for the most basic hardware and 32-bit drivers don't work in 64-bit windows. (32-bit programs do, though). There's are two IE's -- 64-bit and 32-bit. 32-bit plugins don't seem to work with the 64-bit one. And there's no 64-bit Flash. etc.

I got SuSE 9.2 x86_64 installed, but X won't start (I get a blank or corrupted screen and it hangs). Probably the wrong graphics drivers or something... I'm not comfortable enough in linux to be able to get it working though. I've searched for help and tried some solutions for hours. Then I tried the Fedora Core 4 x86_64 FTP install. I left it downloading and when I went back to the computer, it had hanged very similarly to SuSE. I guess I'll try Mandriva or Ubuntu now... or try to find more help to get SuSE working. Or maybe I'll just go with 32-bit.

How come the size of those images is 0 bytes?

Games that don't cut the mustard...but are quite good, actually.

I personally prefer Desperados to Commandos. I got bored in Commandos 2 (or maybe 3, no I think it was 2) somewhere in the middle or near the end because some of the levels were so big and complex and you had all this repetitive stuff to do... Robin Hood was kind of good too, but how the hell did they manage to screw up the graphics? Compared to desperados, it looked pretty amateur at times (especially the load/save page). -
I want to see a Death of a Clown next, otherwise I can never sleep again.
-
I don't care. I think the series was already ruined by the last game, although it did have some nice levels.

I bought a new controller (the official PS2 one) mainly because the flying was impossible with the lousy third-party controller I had. So it's difficult on the PC too, then?

I'm not so sure. Not that I've actually thought about which is better. I learned Finnish by watching Finnish TV and I learned English by using a computer and reading books, and in school. Playing adventure games probably helped me learn some words that are not often used elsewhere. But I can't really write in Finnish because I've hardly ever needed to do that. And I don't speak it very fluently either. TV only works one way.

Knights of Honor is totally awesome (for a while at least), but it has hardly been mentioned anywhere... But maybe that's because it only came out a few days/weeks ago or so in USA, while in Europe it was released in the end of the last year. I never played the battles myself, and this worked well for me -- I could focus on strategy and leave the tactics to a random function (or possibly AI, not sure). At first it seemed like it had all the elements of the strategy game I've always wanted to play -- having warfare, economy, espionage, diplomacy, city building etc. all packed in a good looking visual design, having the right balance between simplicity and complexity yadayadayada... But after I progressed in the game, it started showing lack of depth in some areas. But it's still damn good. -
I tried to install SuSe 9.3 from some CD's I borrowed, but it was the 32-bit version, but I wanted to try the 64-bit one. So I downloaded the 9.2 Network install ISO (or something like that) and burned it on a CD-RW, and choose FTP install, but after "copying files to RAM drive" it said "an error happened with this install" and nothing more.

I don't wear many logo shirts either. Unless I've got them as gifts and they aren't too awful etc. Fact: my grandmother gave me a t-shirt that says "John Boner". (or something like that; she doesn't speak English) I'd like to wear a Ulukai shirt, but I've been too lazy to get one/more made...

Actually, someone more knowldgeable about Linux just recommended SuSe instead of Fedora. He said Fedora is not really stable and gets a lot of updates, even so much that it becomes unmanageable. Supposedly there was 600 MB worth of updates to download the next day after the last release. I think I'll give SuSe a try.

I wanted to try the Ubuntu Live CD version... It started up, but for some reason I couldn't log in. Don't remember what the exact failure was.
