But you lost the stone! Do you have any idea what that stone will be worth after you have become world famous? But probably those chavs just threw it away and won't profit from it.

I just bought Gorillaz' "Demon Days" album, not paying enough attention to notice it had some kind of copy protection mechanism. When inserted, it said "To listen to the CD a number of files need to be updated on your PC." Ok / Cancel Not having forgotten about the recent root kit issue with Sony, I pressed cancel and played it manually in Winamp and it's totally fucked up. Some tracks have pauses in them and crackle and shit. Fucking bastards. From now on, I'll take a closer look before I buy a record.

Here's me in my new WaChe shirt, and my best attempt at posing like Che (couldn't find a pentagram, but I did find the terrorist Uljanov).

This reminded me to order WaChe... But the previous time I tried to order I-don't-remember-what from the Idle Thumbs store, I got this reply from someone from Spreadshirt: I hope it's ok now.

Yay! I'm now running Steam on Ubuntu and downloading HL2 Episode One as we speak... I'm using Cedega though, which isn't free (but there's a trial). Steam probably doesn't work with plain Wine (I remember trying but not getting it working). A pirated version of NFS Most Wanted refused to install (claiming DirectX 9.0c wasn't installed, while it was), although support for the game is very much advertised by Transgaming.

Heh. Thanx, didn't notice the Close item in the menu. Now if only Ubuntu would have a TV-tuner software that worked with my tuner, I'd probably start using it as my main OS again (I used mostly Ubuntu about 3 months in the beginning of this year and then switched back to Windows). Actually, what would be great to get cross-platform apps to share configuration data -- Firefox, Thunderbird, Democracy, Eclipse etc. so that it doesn't matter which OS you are running -- you'll still have the same config./data.

Yes it does, except I don't like that Rhythmbox now closes when I press the close button. Previously it used to minimize to tray. And actually, there doesn't even seem to be a minimize to tray option at all.

Ha! The joke here is that this CD can easily be ripped using free software and it will sound fine (I just did it on two computers using Sound Juicer in Ubuntu 6.06). So it only prevents listening it on some standard CD-players and computers, but you can copy it just fine... hmm... somebody should beat up the persons who are responsible for this idiocity with a giant hammer made entirely out of CD-s.

There is no spoon... just snakes on a plane.

Also: Alien Swarm , made by Black Cat Games, who also made Thievery and are working on another Alien Swarm with the Source engine.

Valve should do with Steam what IBM did with Eclipse -- release control to a neutral organization and get other companies to join in (and maybe open source it). Not a lot will join if it will remain controlled by Valve. Except with Steam it might be a bit more complicated -- Eclipse is a platform that the Eclipse Foundation members build their commercial products on, but with Steam it probably wouldn't be good for each publisher to have their own steam-based product (because people will buy games from different publishers and it would be a mess to have to have 10 different Steam-derivatives installed); rather Steam should be one product and every publisher should just have their own plugins for it, if they need to have their own encryption or security code, or whatever. But I think a big problem is that while Eclipse was meant to be universal right from the start, that is not the case with Steam (or am I wrong? -- haven't read that much about it's background). So Valve would probably have to almost start over to do this. And I'm not even sure there's a good business reasons for them to make Steam that open and universal.

That has the opposite effect on me. I deeply hated Stan.

I heard a variation of this joke yesterday: Two drunken Irish sailors walk out of a brothel. One of them asks, "What did you do with the Irish one?" and without waiting for a reply, "OR DID YOU GET LLOYD GEORGE TO DEAL WITH HER FOR YOU!???"

I hate World Cup haters.

Yeah, for now... Bwahahahaha:violin:

Lemmings was actually made by DMA Design (aka Rockstar North)

Turns out I had a broken install or something. I tried every fix listed at Valve's support site, but nothing helped. Then deleted all files in the Steam folder and reinstalled Steam. Now it's downloading. Yay!

The steam servers are STILL busy. Am I ever going to be able to play this? This happen to anyone else? Maybe I should hire someone to sit here and click to find a moment of non-busy-ness.

Well, this thing proves that GTA MMO is a good idea (although I don't really play MMOs). Currently there are a few servers with up to a hundred players and it's quite fun, although the experience is somewhat marred by hackers. I killed one and din't realize at first what was going on -- suddenly I had billions of cash. Anyone else tried it yet? What are your thoughts?

Damn it... I just bought the complete Valve Pack or what it was a few days ago, but I'm out of disk space to download Episode 1 Damn.... cleaned up the disk, but the Steam Servers are too busy... it was the same when I tried two days ago.
