Yes, I'd agree. Somehow it seems even more buggy than the previous ones. Or maybe the bugs come up in more common use cases. It's pretty awesome so far, though. And makes me want to buy a new computer that could run it better. I don't remember how the balance was exactly in the previous Gothic games, but this time it seems like I should really just go and kill a lot of beasts to level up if I want to be able to handle some of the more combat-intensive quests comfortably. Right now my stats are so low that the combat depends completely on my own skill: (do not read the spoiler until you're done with Cape Dun) , just making a couple of mistakes and I'm dead. When comparing it with Elder Scrolls, I'd say Gothic focuses on depth, while Elder Scrolls on breadth. I like Gothic's approach better overall, but it makes Gothic a little too dense sometimes -- Wolves hanging around practically in eyesight of city gates, for example. But the atmosphere seems much richer in Gothic.

You've scored 15 points! You're batting 600! I got 2 questions twice.

Do they play "Fuck Forever" on the radio?
-
Thanx! Curiosity satisfied.

By Babyshambles. I think it's a pretty damn good song... in the end the singer says "they'll never play this on the radio".
-
But something called "globalization" has happened in the meantime... Perhaps the console manufacturers / game publishers should get with the times.
-
I'll get it at release.

Yes, that's awesome. I'm probably going to buy it. So far the only reason I've not done that is that I haven't seen it in any local stores and I'm not too keen on ordering physical stuff online.

I've only played Fallout 2, and it was awesome! I recently bought Fallout, but haven't gotten around to playing it, yet. I have only played a little from the beginning of Torment, but most of all the Black Isle games I actually liked Baldur's Gate [yes I know it was developed by BioWare].

Sounds like Omikron: The Nomad Soul. That game was also a deeply broken, but at the same time somehow totally drew me into its world. And also had some meta-references. I think I'll buy this game if I see it. [edit]I just also read the Boiling Point review by Kieron Gillen that was mentioned in the pathologic review. He gave it not 2, but 3 different scores: 9/10 for awesomeness, 3/10 for buginess and finally 8/10. I think I might get this after I finish Oblivion. I noticed it in the local store almost every time but never bothered to read a review

It could be that I'm wearing crappy earphones right now, but I find those screams annoying. If they do that all the time in the game, I'll probably throw the wiimote at them.
-
I started playing it about a year or two ago, but stopped quite early. I think it was the respawning zombies. Zombies usually annoy me in games, and combine that with respawns...

Hmm... are you trying to intimidate me?

Classic Videogame characters: Should they keep their trap shut?

No, I actually spilled my beer. Almost on the keyboard. -
You're quote has it wrong. brkl said that, not me.

Haha, probably no. What project is it, though?

I'd certainly like to hear Gordons one-liners. Hmm... someone should make mods for all the Half-Life games that would add a that. .... damn... I spilled my drink. -
Well, it's 3 things, all related to Eclipse (the one at http://www.eclipse.org , I'm a big fan of it) and they all happened on Monday or so. 1) I ported the part of Zerobot that talks to the forums (the forum bot that will eventually let you guys play IF games here) to use Eclipse Communication Framework as a base and got some praise from the ECF guys for that. The code still needs some work, but is almost certainly going to be included in ECF. 2) I fixed a bug in Eclipse Platform. It was only one line of code, but it's the first patch/fix I've ever made for an open source project. And I think it already went into the nightly build yesterday. 3) At work, we had a meeting about which desktop platform to choose for a new high-priority project and chose the one I had been somewhat pushing for (Eclipse Rich Client Platform). Happy happy joy joy!

May I burst with joy about something totally unrelated to exams?

If it works, it's definitely very cool. But for how many years have they* tried to get voice recognition working without much success.. or maybe there has been little success step-by-step that's just not that noticeable? * whoever

Or maybe he just went mad.

I'm a wannabe game programmer, currently working in financial business software. I recently turned down a job to work on some casino game backend. Actually, lately I'm not even that interested in games programming, but evolving as a software developer in general (and business software seems so much of a better place to do that) and some day I may want to try to get into the game industry or just do some game design & programming as a hobby.

Yeah, lately the only gaming site I visit often besides IdleThumbs is GameSpot and their previews are usually really boring. I mostly go there for the videos.

Wow, I haven't seen such an unanimous poll vote in a while.
