Well, this thread and some positive reviews made me buy it on Steam. Unlocks in about an hour. Can't wait to dive into the wasteland again. I'm planning on focusing on speechcraft and avoiding combat as much as possible.

Yeah, just saw that too. Pretty cool stuff.

This made me want to go and give another shot at the original Divinity. I'm now about 20 hours in and the game seems awesome. I've only explored the river town so far and a tiny bit of Verdistis -- so far it seems easily as deep as Oblivion, Baldur's Gate or Gothic, maybe even more so. And gives you lots of choices. It's not all good though: the story and writing is rather simplistic, dialogues have voices in seemingly random places (most of the important dialogues that move the story forward have voices, but in one place a couple of gossiping merchants are voiced while more important dialogues are silent). But the worst part is the user interface. It's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna click. Seriously, while many of the areas are rather empty except for monsters, those areas that have lots of people or stuff laying around are so dense in hotspots that you have to spend considerable effort to find a spot of ground to click on. It's made worse by the camera folloing the character pixel-for-pixel -- quite unsmoothly. Many times when you click, you don't know if it's gonna result in a drag, charcater movement or an interaction. I don't really like the in-game windows for inventory either. The worst is the bartering window, where you have to scroll through all your inventory to find what you want to sell, repair or identify. Those really dense areas could really benefit from a first person, or an over the shoulder view. So if Divinity 2 fixes these issues while retaining the depth of Divine Divinity, it will be one awesome RPG.

Damn, some of the OCD-s are really hard. I'm finding it difficult to get more than half of them in the first chapter.

I learned some new words: clbuttic, buttistance, grbutt

Wow... they claim TOR has more story content than ALL BioWare games put together (including the ones developed by Obsidian, and all the expansions). I don't play MMO's, but maybe I'll start once this gets released...

Gamespot has some info already (and a video): http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/starwarstheoldrepublic/news.html?sid=6199726&mode=news

Yay, after dusting it and replacing the thermal paste, the temperature is down 15 C when idling (about 45 C) and barely goes up any more. It used to go up to 90 C and more during gaming

Yeah, I plan to do that... once I get past my lazyness Meanwhile, I was able to play a little bit, but for some reason the game didn't let me use any more extra goo balls in the tower of goo. I gained something like 18 extra balls, but when I got to the tower, I had exactly 300 -- as much as the last time. There doesn't seem to be a cap on 300 though as I've seen some clouds state higher numbers (not used balls, but available ones).

Thanks. For some reason I had never opened that menu. Trying to get OCD on all levels is exactly the extra motivation I needed to try to get more goo balls for my tower. [edit] unfortunately, I seem to be unable to play any games on my PC as my processor is fucking overheating all the time. I blame global warming!

Hmm... What exactly is this OCD thing? Maybe I didn't pay attention during the game... I did notice the letters "OCD" after completing some levels.

The city is indeed awesome, but like Rodi, I'm somewhat disappointed that there is not much to do after completing the main story. There should be loads of more side quests and stuff. Hunting the pidgeons doesn't seem that fun, really. That reminds me, I just got my copy of GTA IV back from a friend and should try to get some of the achievements I didn't bother with at first.
-
Apparently it's a bug and some other people have got that as well. It was funny to get it right after the game told me such things as though.
-
I seem to be incompatible with the world. Is this a feature or a bug: What am i supposed to do here?

Just finished a playthrough of the main game, the Enhanced Edition. Not much seems to have changed, actually. Sure, the load times a lot better than the original unpatched, but I didn't actually notice that much difference in the dialogues. And now on to play the additional adventures included in the enhanced edition.

You could still buy it directly from 2DBoy (via paypal)

Oh well, the European Steam release will be months from now: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=260665

Dammit, it's now on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/news/1884/ Had I known it would come to Steam so soon I would have waited. For the achievements and stuff.
-
Yay! I already got the full version.
-
I got both the receipt e-mail from paypal and the key from 2D Boy in less than ten minutes after purchasing it. If I were you would e-mail them about it.
-
Preordered too. The first chapter was lots of fun and seems quite polished already for an early version.
-
Wow! That looks awesome. Too bad I don't have a PS3

no, you didn't break it, it ignores everything below the first line of text

Hmm... the game was trying to respond with the message but that was too short for vbulletin. Have to add some filler there.
