  1. A Vampyre Story

I agree that the puzzles are somewhat nonsensical. The goal (which wasn't apparent to me either until the puzzle was solved) is to
  2. NXE impressions?

I definitely like the NXE better than the old one. But it's strange that it offers to launch Fallout 3, which I have for the PC not XBox.

Yeah, and at the same time they stressed the importance of the story in an interview (done by Chris): http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3843/the_philosophy_of_faith_a_.php * * note: have only played the demo so far.
  4. A Vampyre Story

Oh god, Mona's voice is incredibly annoying indeed. I'll get back to the demo when I'm in the mood for being annoyed. Also, don't like how the demo just throws you into the game with no introduction whatsoever.
  5. Fallout 3

Well, I already did that. Must have spent more than 60 hours on it already.
  6. Fallout 3

3:51 Man, I'm too obsessed with this game.
  7. Fallout 3

Yeah, this happened to me too. I played for several hours in a row on occasions, but mostly I just played for half an hour or so, then quit, then came back soon. But then again, the constant crashing helped that. Patch seems to have reduced the crashing (if the Steam version got patched -- can't really tell). I just played it again, trying to go almost as fast as I could, focusing on speech and repair and being neutral, while paying attention mostly to new stuff I didn't see before. Took 8.5 hours. I bet a "speedrun" can be done in 4 hours or less.

Damn, for some reason ME isn't available in Estonia yet. Haven't even seen it in the "coming soon" sections. Strange, as for the last few years we've finally been getting most titles at the same time everyone else in Europe. May have to order from game.co.uk
  9. Fallout 3

Was able to buy some from Moira.
  10. Fallout 3

Yeah, some items are useful: Scrap Metal, Blood Bags, Brotherhood Holotags, Sugar Bombs, Nuka Cola Quantum -- can be traded for useful items (or more caps than their apparent value) with some specific people after you've talked with them. Turpentine, Cherry Bombs, Lunchboxes, Radscorpion Glands, Steam Gauge Assemblies, Toy Cars, Surgical Tubes, Pressure Cookers, Crutches etc. can be used to make bombs, weapons and stuff. Can't remember all of them. But generally I've found those not all that useful, I've only made a couple of weapons and don't use them all that much.
  11. Fallout 3

Wanted: Flour If anyone still playing this accidentally finds flour somewhere, please let me know where you found it. I've been searching everywhere but no luck yet. Or maybe such items are randomly placed?
  12. Fallout 3

I have had daemon tools running while playing the game. But I have the Steam version, don't know if that has Securom as well or if it's different in any way from the physical version.
  13. Fallout 3

I played for a week, 5-8 hours a day (you can tell this game is good, can't even remember the last game that did that to me). I think if you do nothing else and skip most of the side quests and don't go searching through every locker, you may be able to complete it. I explored less than half of the world. Not sure how many of the places I didn't go to have any story content, though. The game didn't go exactly as I planned: I wanted to avoid combat and talk my way through things, but when you want to explore a lot, you have to fight and I started liking the combat more and more. Near the end, I fought more instead of finding alternate solutions. I think I'm going to load a save before the endgame and do some more exploring. Or maybe start a new game.
  14. Fallout 3

Well, I just finished it. The ending disappointed, although the preceding it was cool. What I hated most about the ending (WARNING: ENDING SPOILER):
  15. U R Left 4 Dead

Just played the demo (singleplayer). This game is crazy! Especially the sound is insane when a big horde attacks.
  16. Fallout 3

Damn, I didn't know that and never activated the Windows Live thing. Can I get achievements retroactively if I do it now?
  17. Fallout 3

I just got that far as well last night. Then the game crashed and I went to bed I was quite frustrated with the story issues that kept popping up due to the accidental alternative route I took (described in a spoiler in an earlier post), but now that that part of the quest is done with, the story is looking better again. I'm still quite disappointed that alternative routes are not implemented properly. Won't be surprised if there will be a fan mod to fix that.
  18. Fallout 3

Considering how often the PC version crashes on me, I'd say it's probably Fallout's problem, not the XBox's
  19. Steam Cloud

    I heard it's vaporware
  20. Fallout 3

Damn, the game crashes for me after every couple of hours. Only reset helps. Highly annoying. Also, I'm finding more and more bugs/holes, for example: I have also seen several other dialogue options which are out of context and seem to assume a path I haven't taken.
  21. Fallout 3

I think I only met two guards in the corridors, one of them I sneaked past, the other I killed.
  22. Fallout 3

Not sure how many hours I've played (steam doesn't seem to log it for some reason), but I'm also liking it very much. I even kind of like the combat, although the mix of real-time and turn-based is somewhat awkward. In some situations it works out well, though: I ended up in a room with only one way out and 5 radscorpions on the other side of the door. My character is pretty weak --focusing on speechcraft and science-- so those scorpions would have surely killed me if I'd have to fight all of them at the same time -- I was having trouble with even one of them earlier. But luckily I had ammo and the combat system allowed me to do this: open door, take a few shots at the scorpions, close door, wait for AP-s to fill, repeat. One of them got inside during this, but I managed to survive somehow. My main complaint so far is that most characters don't have much new to say once you complete important quests, like
  23. ‫‬‭‮‪‫‬‭‮Mirror's Edge

From the demo the game seems pretty close to what I expected, which is awesome. It was actually a little more difficult that I thought it would be.
  24. ‫‬‭‮‪‫‬‭‮Mirror's Edge

Downloading the demo now, can't wait to give it a shot...
