  1. argh.. can't be bothered to keep reading this stupid thread.
  2. I might agree, but you were reading this on gamesindustry.biz, which seems to be a business (or sausage-making) oriented site (although I admit I don't read that site except when something interesting on it is linked elsewhere, so I don't really know).
  3. I think you have somewhat different understanding of what Molyneux meant by de-risking than Marek or Thunderpeel (or I, although I'm certainly not agreeing with everything Thunderpeel said). I think he specifically meant de-risking a project in the eyes of the investors, not de-risking the content.
  4. Dawn of Discovery / Anno 1404

This game is really good, but I suspect it'll last only for a short while. I've already played more than 30 hours, maybe 40. Played 6 missions on the campaign mode (was beaten on the 6th, decided to try other modes before continuing) and two easy difficulty scenarios (I probably play slower than the average strategy gamer) A lot of the game is analogous to inventory Tetris: I'm trying to conserve the limited land available so I try to place each individual field of a farm optimally. I don't like that part very much. At least you can destroy/recreate buildings at no cost so if you make a mistake it'll be relatively easy to undo. In my first scenario, I tried to create a visually appealing city, with wide cider avenues, cobblestone roads etc., but in the next one I couldn't be bothered to pay attention to that because its just better to conserve space as much as possible.
  5. I've never confused your voices either. Maybe in the good old times when you used to have guests I may have confused a guests voice with one of yours, but don't remember who it was.

  7. So what was that Jake said somewhere that you recorded something about Brütal Legend?

  9. Open Source (Free) Gaming

[speculating] Probably some of the free indie games have source code available, it's just not advertized a lot...
  10. Brütal Legend overload...!

Meat Circus is fine compared to the last level of Trine.
  11. search for "introversion subversion" on google. dev diary is here: http://www.introversion.co.uk/subversion/

  14. The Witcher

What, is this the same as the Enhanced Edition or is it an Enhanced Enhanced Edition?
  15. iPhone/iTouch gaming

I use something like these when running/biking: http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/koss-p9-neckband-headphones-prodid-567.html (not those exact earphones, but similar shape)
  16. Lair of the Mantis [Wolf3D mod]

It seems really cool, but shooters that don't let you look up&down give me motion sickness. Never really enjoyed Doom for that reason.
  17. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Played enough lemonade tycoon to drain the battery (couple of hours I think, but it was maybe a bit more than half full earlier). I saw a paid app in the store that shows you memory usage and other system stats. Is that useful at all? Do some apps remain in memory after closing them?
  18. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Lemonade Tycoon is actually pretty fun.
  19. Than would probably make a 5 hour episode by the sound of it.
  20. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Wow, thanks!. I had actually tried this at least 5 times. But somewhy it didn't work, I used too long taps.
  21. If dawn of discovery was on steam I would have bought it by now (46')
  22. iPhone/iTouch gaming

Whoa, you bought quite a lot of them. I really recommend Sway BTW: Tyguj8d9fQA I'm not liking the iPod software compared to the click-wheel iPod. It seems you can't rewind/ffwd? I loved how you could just do that with a slider like in PC media players. Also, a few other features. Since I don't have album artwork for most stuff, the middle of the screen is completely wasted, and so song titles and buttons seem unnecessarily small. [edit] oh, you can rewind/ffwd when holding down the prev/next buttons. still, I would also like to see playing time and artist/album/song title in larger font.
  23. iPhone/iTouch gaming

I've impulse purchased a lot of games now. Sway seems pretty sweet, but I haven't played much yet. In it, you swing a ragdoll monkey around. Hard to explain, but there's a lite version available so give it a try! Also, the zen rope wrapping game is also sweet! There's this Offworld post if you haven't seen it that mentions both of them as well as others: http://www.offworld.com/15iphonegames/
  24. The sad sad tale of Tim Langdell

Hmm... yeah, I guess he could have just mentioned he was on the IGDA board, but somehow trying to associate it with this TM business would have been wrong.
