  1. GDC 2010 for thumbs?

Are you saying it should be higher, Marek Bronstring? (I don't know if this helps)
  2. Brütal Legend overload...!

If VGChartz is to be trusted, Brütal Legend has sold more than 1M copies (360 + PS3). Is that a record for Tim Schafer? Cause for celebration? Or is it not enough, considering the probably expensive ad campaigns?
  3. iPad

Hmm... this review really makes me want to finally get a laptop/netbook instead (can you believe it I've never had one).
  4. Evony

Evony dropped the libel lawsuit against Bruce Everiss
  5. iPad

But maybe there's no reason to worry too much about this. Android will save us from Apple, right? Even if Apple's devices will have the most market share any single product has, looks like Android will be at least a strong competitor and be a lot more open. There will probably be awesome Android tablets soon.
  6. Trouble on Blobolonia

I actually found one local seeming site that sells it but there is no info about the company and translations seem to be done with Google Translate, I don't trust them. Damn it, finally something good comes to the Wii and then it's so hard to find.
  7. Trouble on Blobolonia

Anyone know a good place I could order this from, that ships to EU? It can't be found in Estonia and game.co.uk is out of stock.
  8. Red Dead Redemption

I think "from the makers of GTA" would already bring way more recognition than "sequel to Read Dead Revolver". Unless of course this game has nothing to do with people who made GTA.
  9. Red Dead Redemption

It looks more awesome with every trailer! But why are they even calling it Read Dead *? From what little I know about Red Dead Revolver, this is completely different.
  10. Plug your shit

I program, currently mostly in Scala. I'm one of the lucky(?) people who's job is also his hobby, but most of the projects at work aren't really interesting enough for me to fully realize myself so I do lots of programming on my spare time. Unfortunately I have lots of ideas and I often come up with new ones that make the old ones seem less interesting so I sometimes drop projects before they reach even half of their potential. Currently working on: http://tinbullet.in, which you may now from the "Should I do it?" thread. Some side projects I'm also occasionally updating are hosted at GitHub: http://github.com/Villane/ Plus there's one thing I think may have potential, a "pattern & template system" (Eclipse plugin) that lets you describe Java/Scala code patterns, detect those patterns in existing code, and generate new pattern instances from templates that go with the pattern. More, it adds new refactoring options and could be a generic replacement for framework-specific Eclipse plug-ins (such as Spring IDE). Coupled with an online pattern & template repository, it could be awesome. But I want to focus on tinbullet.in for now. [edit] I'm also making a rather simple game: but it's on hold currently. Currently planning on getting a web-based (Java applet) demo out when I get time, but it would be interesting to port the game for the iPad, since I think it would work really well there. However, since I don't even have a Mac, it would be kind of expensive project to get a Mac, iPad and the developer license, and learn iPhone OS development, just for this.
  11. I didn't know there's also a Little Dog: Creepy little fucker.
  12. That smiley should really be changed to "please read between the legs". I always read it as that.
  13. The Witcher 2

The fact sheet seems really over the top. Sounds good overall, though. Although this might seem a somewhat shallow, I liked this part most: As Kingz said in another post (though he hasn't played it), I think the opening cinematic really hinted at such abilities and it was somewhat disappointing to be limited in movement to just one flat(-ish) plane. And what I liked least is the ~300 different swords (combined from parts?). I'd rather they just make one sword and put more time into all the other stuff they listed.
  14. SpyParty

I think it was said it will be completed in a couple of years... So yeah a long time to wait. PS. I forgot to link to where I read about it: http://www.destructoid.com/why-you-need-to-be-excited-about-spyparty-167171.phtml http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/03/hands-on-spyparty/
  15. That story about the guy's mom was so familiar. If you check my Steam account, the game I've played most is probably Zuma. That's my mom. I tried to get her to play Plants & Zombies but she didn't get into it, even though she's a hobbyist gardener.
  16. http://thumbs.spreadshirt.com/ I have the 8 Slot bag and a WaChe shirt, but I should also get the top gun one. BTW. I never figured out why 8 slot bag is funny. Does anyone know?
  17. I'm suffering from Stalker withdrawal. I thought the game (COP) had perfect length but now I wish it hadn't ended so soon. I think I might play Clear Sky, I only played a couple of hours of it when it came out. Or maybe some Fallout 3 DLC.
  18. Metro 2033?

I don't know, some of them seemed too loud for me. One conversation coming through a door didn't sound muffled at all and I looked around trying to find where it was coming from before realizing it came through a closed door (probably). I also noticed those sounds aren't well mixed always.
  19. Game design advice

Yeah, making something simple is the way to go. I tried to make complex games for years before finally realizing that (although a lot of people were saying it). And I still haven't finished even the simple game, due to other stuff I'm doing on my free time.
  20. The Witcher 2

    It's going to be awesome.
  21. ... and live in harmony harm...
  22. Shatter

is now on Steam. It also has an amazing soundtrack which you can listen to here. The soundtrack was actually the main reason I bought the game.
  23. Shatter

Yeah, I get the same feeling. I played through the story mode and boss rush, but I don't see myself playing any of the modes over and over again.
  24. Should I do it?

Darn... it seems I won't get it working properly until Scala and Lift are synced again (probably will happen in a month). This will give me an opportunity do some boring back-end stuff I guess.
