Hmm... I'm getting close to level 7 and I like this more than the first game, but I don't want to spend 30 € (Steam price) considering that it's not that much different from the original, basically the same game with some added stuff Maybe I'll wait for a sale.

The Idle Thumbs Podcast Episode 5: His Cyborg Familiar

I probably wasn't very clear about the thing I linked to earlier. It has the explanation (or part of it): http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6043 And here there seem to be some more details: http://www.adventuregamers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-4779.html -
Aargh. it's impossible to understand the model numbers of video cards, especially as I usually don't want to know anything about them except before upgrading. Did they add HD to the name and start numbering from the beginning?
-
Yes, this bothered me much, it's a gaping hole in the system than NPCs and emissions aren't handled properly. Also, the birds that usually drop dead after an emission, sometimes drop through a fucking roof right in front of you.

I don't even have any game (except Excite Truck) that has the S-rank concept...

Not really letmegooglethatforyou.com is a real domain name though
-
Yup, noticed that now.

I know nothing about games. I've spent almost 2 hours there and am only level 3. Also, I think the "broken toys" quest is broken. nevermind, I'm dumb.

I think it was something to do with the hosting provider? Can't remember it's name. Looked it up... Telefragged. Whoa. Googling adventuregamer.com brought up a thread on ttlg.com where I had posted as well, in May 2001. Creepy. http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6043 -
That now comes up before Idle Thumbs for a google search for Bronstring Marek Bronstring

I've played through it twice, but I don't think I played for that long. Yes there will be Far Cry 3. There's not much information about it, though, except that Ubisoft thinks it's "pretty exciting".

PAL. I'm willing to wait a bit though, but if it doesn't appear on game.co.uk after some time has passed, it'd be great if someone could buy it for me.
-
Yeah, I've been playing the demo a bit, I'm at level 4 or so. The beginning is indeed more approachable, but I'm not sure if I want to buy this when I spent only maybe 5 hours playing the first game. I may go back and just play the first one... or is Warband basically everything in the first game + made a lot better by the stuff you mentioned?
-
Man, I think I've seen all those before, but I may have blocked out the memory. All are very creepy.

Likely 360 for me, I still don't have a PS3. Also, I might move some time during the next couple of months and not even sure if I'm going to buy a TV immediately.
-
PS. Is the 4.0 OS just for the iPhone or also iPad?
-
Yeah, sad that the 3GS isn't getting multitasking. I now regret that I got a two year contract for the phone. Could have just paid the fine for ending the contract right when I bought it, but it would make no economic sense to do that now. So I'm not getting a new one until this contract expires. Unless they have some kind of upgrade option, which I don't think they do (might be different in the US). Wait... I read it wrong. 3GS is getting multitasking. Fucking A!

It's amazing that they manage to somehow trump themselves with every new trailer.

Yeah, the app rejections are definitely another thing that I don't like. For example, disallowing this: http://www.intomobile.com/2010/03/04/tawkon-measures-iphone-radiation-wont-be-approved-by-apple.html because it "would create confusion with iPhone owners from a usability perspective", but then allowing tons of utter crap...

I think you are exaggerating a lot here. I remember it wasn't exactly beating so much as the guy was trying to stop the police from entering and they struggled somewhat and his shirt got ripped or something. And it was two daughters, not a son. Unless you are talking about a different thing. Here's the link.

i don't know much about that either, but I think there are some download services where it's easier to get your game up than Steam for example. And the PC might have bigger long tail potential than the App Store. Also I never buy games completely randomly for my iPhone, always based on review or recommendation. But I'm talking out of my ass as well.

Well, I personally would like to be able to develop for it on the PC. I don't want to get a Mac (or I do a little bit, but if then a laptop and I want to do development on a desktop, not a laptop). Then I'd like it to be easier to get a developer's license. Until recently, you couldn't really get one in Estonia without cheating. I don't know the exact requirements for the dev. kit, but I think you have to have a company? I don't have my own company (yet), and I'd rather not register one until at least I'm actually ready to publish something. I would also like it if it ran Java, but I guess that's too much to want. [edit] On your note about people getting into game development through this -- why would it be better in any way than doing that on the PC and self-publish it only as a downloadable game? (unless you want to do something that fits that device better than the PC)

I think I found a perfectly good solution to my personal dilemma with it: I'm going to get one for my mom (some other people have also said they plan to do that).
