  1. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

It is. I especially liked the writing and humour in the last two episodes. Side note: damn you iPhone for correcting humour to humor
  2. Maniac Mansion 3D

    ugh... nice walk animation
  3. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Played the beginning of the game a little bit and I'm a lot more impressed than I was with the demo. It is scary and I feel a lot of what John Walker wrote about in RPS's take on the game. It may also be because I'm playing properly now, in a completely dark room with the door closed, headphones, behind a big monitor connected to my macbook pro* instead of just a mouse attached to the laptop. Not playing the demo like that also made me try to grope at the edges of the systems, , which ruined the suspense somewhat. * my desktop PC is busted, will be getting a new one soon.
  4. Nice finale, though surprisingly short considering the length of the recent The Idle Thumbs Podcast episodes. Will miss you(r voices).
  5. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Yeah, I didn't like Myst, but I liked the concept and am curious to see Blow's take on it. Day One Perch.
  6. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

It's now activated on steam, on the main site it said something like download coming 8 AM GMT. RPS Wot I Think is quite positive (just from the initial paragraphs, haven't read the whole thing yet). [edit] Quite high praise.
  7. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Awesome season. Game of the Year candidate. Also I think one of the best adventure games ever made (TOP 10 at least). I envy you guys for remembering stuff that happened in previous seasons in detail. I remember there being some time paradox, but nothing specific. Also I didn't get any references to Hit the Road, played that more than 10 years ago. Maybe I should do a Sam & Max marathon some day.
  8. Bastion

What most interests me about it is the dynamic narration / live commentary. It seems to be done well from the video at GiantBomb. An indie game did that, it's interesting to see ideas from small indie games get into bigger titles.
  9. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

You just don't get modern spelling. It could also be D4ke Nukem Forever
  10. Bastion

I heard on Twitter that Greg Kasavin (another journalist turned developer) is working on that game.
  11. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

A demo for all kinds of PC-s is out (and release date is 8th). I just played it on my MacIntosh Portable Computer. It's scary, but so far it has been mostly just wondering around trying to stay in the light and a couple of puzzly things along the way. It might be better than the first Penumbra, looks and sounds better at least.
  12. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

No, I think elmuerte got it right.
  13. I only played the first one on the iPhone and didn't notice this. But that may be because I was glad to play •any• ags on that device as not many better ones were available. In hindsight I think I agree. Georges motivation to travel so much to solve this "case" was pretty much unestablished.
  14. I should play the Kyrandia games. Are they still available to purchase somewhere?
  15. Mafia II

    Nice avatar, toblix.
  16. WTF is Telltale's new game?

Looks like a card game, but I hope it's something other than poker.
  17. Thanks for casting your pod into our face. Also, worst ending ever.
  18. Arkane Studios bought by ZeniMax

Now that would be interesting, especially if they mixed the physical combat of Dark Messiah in there as well.
  19. Epic Mickey

DIE, too specifically titled threads*! *
  20. BioShock Infinite

    Brothers, I think
  21. What is the Mystery of Scoggins?

I agree with most of what has been said. Don't remember having problems with a red/green puzzle though, even though I am red/green colorblind. Maybe they fixed that by now? The ending fits only if this is a pilot and there will be further episodes, otherwise quite disappointing (even if it's perfect for Grickle).
  22. Aquaria

I played it for maybe 10 hours over a period of a month or so, but I stopped when I had no idea what I needed to do next and going back and forth to find if I missed something got boring.
  23. BioShock Infinite

Ok, maybe "average" isn't doing it justice. But I played it on PC and I'm not a fan of shooters, generally. Every game that is a pure shooter is an "average" game for me unless it does something exceptionally. Half-Life 2-s, Stalkers (ok, not so pure shooter as the others), BioShock, Far Cry 2 have been the ones I've bothered playing through in the recent years. So BioShock is in good company even in my case and yeah I should not say it is average, but I also wouldn't put it on par with the others I mentioned. I also think of myself as a Looking Glass (legacy) fan, but I haven't even finished System Shock 2, while Deus Ex and Thiefs are some of my favourite games ever. So maybe the particular gameplay style of the *shocks just isn't my cup of tea.
  24. BioShock Infinite

The RPS write-up did make it more interesting. I'm in the camp of considering BioShock an average(-ish) game with great atmosphere and style, but this might be more interesting if it's not as pure an FPS as BioShock was. The title is a bit generic though... Even BioShock: Columbia would have been better (unless the reason for the title doesn't become apparent until later).
  25. BioShock Infinite

    Well, in the latest cast
