I really liked the moment when that thing rises from the ground. That was funny!

Didn't he make those Leisure Suit Larry games?

The most unused keyboard key ever. Let's hope this game will justify it's reason to still exist.

I especially liked killing the generals or whatever they were called in this game. They were like mini missions that you could fully plan yourself and it didn't matter if you succeeded or failed, if it was too tough you could go and do something else.

Noo. don't die, thread.
-
I still haven't finished the single player game and haven't tried multiplayer because of all this talk about glitches. I wish they'd fix that before making expansions. But it is funny.
-
Still playing it. The endless mode is getting boring, but I want to find all items dammit! Steam says I've played 22 hours, but it feels like more. Still haven't tried the other modes.
-
You're not a bad person. And I agree completely. I still liked the game though, and I may even like the next one, but I don't really care any more if it exists or not.

Wow, it just keeps going. I thought I was 2/3 through, but I was probably about half or so. Just entered the world of death or whatever, still haven't seen the demon lands. I'm finding it a bit unbalanced (enemies too hard, have to keep going back for more troops), but that might be because I started as a Warrior and now am leaning more towards Mage. That's another reason the game could be shorter: no sane man would replay it at this length, and I didn't want to start over just because I'm now finding that using magic is more interesting.
-
Not sure exactly, I guess 5-8 hours.
-
I miss this game already. Not that I think it was too short -- it was probably the right length, with not much padding. But the atmosphere was so nice I wish I had something similar to play now Is it possible to find Blade Runner somewhere digitally? And run it on Windows 7?
-
Finished it. Pretty sweet game, although I wish it wasn't quite so old school with the graphics. It definitely makes you think of Blade Runner or Beneath A Steel Sky. I liked the voice acting mostly. Does it have multiple endings or just one?
-
Well, it autosaves before the shooting sections, don't know if you can die elsewhere.
-
It's pretty good. But I already found a Fallout 3 type of bug/shortcut that lets you skip a big piece of the story.

Pre-order downloads also started activating. Downloading now...

I finished the demo now. Turned down the graphics settings and now there were no rendering artifacts, which helped a bit. But the demo was still structured exactly as linearly as I thought. Maybe the full game won't be, but I'll still at least wait for reviews to make this clear, before I even consider playing it.

Well, I'm not sure I've followed it closely enough to see how much more action-heavy The Witcher 2 will be, but I hope it will be. The first Witcher should have ideally been more of an action-RPG hybrid, with much more freedom of movement. If they manage to give us that, that seems good to me, even if they make the combat feel less challenging by streamlining (But they said Hard will still pretty much require some alchemy so that sounds good). Their action-heavy RPG will still be structured pretty much like an RPG and have the best of both sides probably. But what is my impression of the part of the DA2 demo that I played that it's structured like a linear action game. Maybe it was the wrong impression, but then my rant becomes just against such a bad non-representative demo, not the game itself. And as I mentioned, I haven't even finished the demo, but it seemed like there would be more of the same. If that was aimed at me -- I never said anything about the console demo. I didn't even know there was one.

Yeah, dust can make a huge difference. In my case some time ago the CPU fan was pretty much filled with dust, causing it to go over 90 degrees Celsius. Cleaning it, it didn't go much over 50. I would still recommend measuring the temperature with some tool. I haven't used the generic tools recommended by Thunderpeel, if those don't work, Asus should have some tool for your motherboard. It's hard to tell how much exactly is too hot, but if it goes over 70 even after cleaning, you may want to replace the thermal paste or add more cooling or something.

No way, The Witcher is one of my favourite RPG-s ever. The DA2 demo may be non-representative, but it is way more of an action game than Witcher. Cutscene-big fight-cutscene-few lines of dialogue-cutscene-big fight-... at that point I gave up the DA2 demo. Besides, Witcher had GOOD* controls for what it was doing. The DA2 demo feels like it's pretty much an action game, but viewed and controlled like a hardcore RPG. Which is just stupid. Graphics issues (black polygons all over the place when viewed from some angles) limited my available view perspectives so maybe I didn't experience the best way I could, though. I'll give it another shot today. *maybe not ideal
-
Maybe swansong of the hardcore, but there's still The Witcher 2, Skyrim and some other RPG-s coming this year. I'll skip DA2, likely won't have time to play them all.
-
Hmm... so I played the demo a bit. It's an action game with RPG controls? No thanks.
-
I can't say I payed too much attention to them, but I didn't completely ignore them.

I would probably like to join, but my knowledge of how it works is limited to those Robot Chicken videos and Bladur's Gate. Oh, and I would gladly be a Thief or something like that.

I've recently been playing Dominion with a friend, also got the Alchemy and Seaside expansions. Seaside is pretty cool, but the fact that my friend mostly beats me is not. I managed to get one draw out of 4 games last time. I got Arkham Horror, but so far haven't played it much. It seems really cool, but almost complicated enough to require a game master. I kept forgetting to do some stuff. I've been meaning to attend some local board game evenings to find more people to play with, but I've been either busy or they've been cancelled. Going tomorrow if I remember. [edit] oops, I missed why this thread was resurrected. This wasn't meant as recommendation of cheap two-player games.
