  1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Would love to play this, but I want to complete my backlog first. And if I ever replay Stalkers with their respective Complete mods, I'll probably play the first two before the third.
  2. Hard disk fail

So I got the data back, and the guy who did it said it might have been static electricity that caused the failure. Guess I should start taking things like anti-static straps and no vacuuming seriously.
  3. V The Elder Scrolls

According to RPS, there is hope that Skyrim will be more like Morrowind. Actually, a middle ground between Morrowind and Oblivion, but that's something already.
  4. Non-video games

So I started going to local board game nights every Tuesday. We've played some pretty sweet games, favourites so far are Merchants & Marauders (though I won the first game way too easily by hoarding money) and Formula D. Also, ordered Merchants & Marauders and Mansions of Madness.
  5. Spaff working on a Movie with CryEngine3 ?

That sweater or cardigan or whatchamacallit doesn't look like something Spaff would wear. Or I could be mistaken since I haven't even met him.
  6. The Idle Thumbs Acheivements Leaderboard

Whoa, I should get on there, I would totally beat Jake (probably). [edit] Add me: http://www.trueachievements.com/Villane0.htm
  7. Brütal Legend overload...!

http://jnkboy.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2x4yuj Man, this would rock! * * maybe not
  8. Hard disk fail

Looks like I'm getting my data back. Yay!
  9. GTA V

Hmm, I might give you that point, don't remember it that well. Still, I'll stick to my opinion that the story wasn't very good. Parts of it may have been good, but not when taken as a whole.
  10. King's Bounty

Ok, I ALMOST started a new game with a Paladin, but instead I decided to pick up Crosswolrds, the expansion that includes(or does not include) the previous expansion. And the main reason I'm posting this: I opened Steam store, but being the lazy bastard I am, I didn't feel like typing in 'King's Bounty' in the search box, thinking: I've played this game for hours and hours, if I click on "Recommended for you", it better fucking recommend King's Bounty: Crosswolrds. And it did! Probably not that impressive, but nice anyway.
  11. GTA V

It was not a case of ludo-narrative dissonance. The cutscenes were quite resonant with the gameplay.
  12. GTA V

It was more like unredemption, which isn't even a word, which proves that the story was utter shit. Actually, I liked Nico's character also in the very beginning of the game, and occasionally it seemed to reappear, if you forgot all the mass murdering that he was oh so eager-while-not-seeming-eager to do.
  13. Hard disk fail

Yeah, I have always vacuumed also. And never used an antistatic strap. I should probably start paying attention to those warnings, considering that my hard drive failed
  14. King's Bounty

Actually I managed to beat it, the last too bosses weren't that hard, and I found a bit more gold which helped me get enough troops to beat them. Had to do some maneuvering between enemy patrols, though. According to Steam I spent 86 hours on this (started in November or December). I loved the game overall, but it does have some flaws: 1) the game is way too long. And the latter areas are not really as interesting to play as the first ones. I liked the Freedom Islands the most, which is the second large area you get access to. 2) the class system of Warrior/Paladin/Mage has no place in this. Why do you have to make this choice in the beginning of a 80 hour game? I thought I'd like to have more troops and the troops be more powerful so chose Warrior, but in the middle of the game started to use magic more. This choice effects the semi-random drops of Might/Mind/Magic runes, which influences greatly the available skill upgrades in each category. I was always short on Mind/Magic runes. This is why I'm even considering playing again as a Paladain or Mage. The game does not warn you about this (AFAIK) and it could just as easily have let you choose which runes you want every time or otherwise made the skill tree more flexible. 3) it's a bit unbalanced, in the later parts of the game you will be constantly hiring new troops and may find yourself in a position where you are low on troops and low on money, and have to go back to some other area. Or maybe I just suck at playing these games (could be, I always was beaten by a friend in HOMM 2)
  15. King's Bounty

Damn, I'm in the final level, and no money to buy troops. I have some stuff to sell, but I can't get to anywhere where I could. The dragon labyrinth doesn't let me back (or the way back is blocked by Impossible troops).
  16. Gemini Rue

hmm... I didn't see any of this.
  17. Kind of agree, but I'd really like to see videos of them. Is GDC doing some organized casting of video streams into our faces?
  18. Pucker your buttonholes, a new Idle Thumbs cast! I think they acknowledged it somewhere.
  19. Iron Brigade

The PC is the best platform now and forever, everyone who things otherwise must remember that there are such things as wrong opinions.
  20. Scrolls

Nice work. It was acutally quite useful to me already.
  21. Piracy/theft

I think it just depends on which law you are breaking and whether that specific law defines that act as criminal or not. I may be wrong.
  22. Hmmm... this http://www.justin.tv/jetku/b/280774631 seems to have two parts, but both are the same video (2h) Where's the part with Jake and the Bandanaman? [edit] uh, where did I get that link? nevermind, I see that the one posted earlier is different and has two parts
  23. Iron Brigade

Bahbah. Look at how indies are doing. I'm not talking about Minecraft. Super Meat Boy sold more on PC than on the Xbox, while the PC launch was a lot quieter. Amnesia sold a lot (or at least more than the developers hoped). Granted, these are developed by teams that can do things cheaper than studios like DoubleFine, but it seems that DF isn't even trying.
  24. Scrolls

I can't remember what it did either. But there is a use for it that would make sense: stop scrolling down in a debug log window. Eclipse for example even has a button for that titled 'Scroll Lock' but it doesn't react to the key at all.
