What the hell is that? Seems ridiculous.

Back to topic. I'm actually curious what Future Publishing would have to say about all this. As far as I remember, they haven't publicly responded to any of the Langdell/EDGE controversy.

Hmm... Most of the puzzles were solvable in 10 seconds or so. That meant a certain rythm was established and I just reached for hints pretty quick if I didn't come up with a solution quickly. Some comments about specific puzzles (some made before): In conclusion, I prefer the first game

I could misuse the Ziggy account for this purpose, but I'm not sure if I know how to merge threads. Lets see...

You want variety? San Andreas You want style? Vice City You want knowledge? Get yourself a scientist! KJAH! The first 3D GTA has it's advantages, which Kingz mentioned. I played a pirated version first, which was without the radio as I recall, so I didn't appreciate it as much as I could have the first time. I also remember it's map the worst for some reason. I can still picture almost every corner of Vice City, though. And I loved flying around in helicopters collecting money from my businesses. But the landscapes were the most boring of the three. I'd love to see any of those three remade in the new engine (not necessarily keeping the story).

I bought PA2 and now have a PA1 to steaamgift if anyone wants.

This 2D platformer is pretty good. Looks gorgeous and the music is good (if repetitive). You're an astronaut stranded on an unfamiliar planet, shooting everything that moves. I remember playing an earlier prototype of this, and that one didn't have weapons or physics as I remember, but both are here now and actually you can do a lot of damage via physics as well as weapons. Tell me about it. I think the difficultly curve was okay though, liked a little more challenge near the end.

I paid nothing. I played through the first championship, but it's not my kind of game (though probably good).

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/06/21/radical-changes-for-a-valley-without-wind/ So it's a side-scroller now. Not sure what to think of that, but an open-world side scroller might be an interesting idea. Didn't have time to watch the full video yet but it looks like travelling is done by moving to a different "plane" at certain places?

Frozen Synaps called me a Fucker as a reward for completing it. The single player campaign kind of sucked, but the gameplay was interesting at least half of the time. So over-all, I give it a . Now on to the multi-player.

Indeed. I remember playing it in the first grade or so, at which point it probably didn't seem awful because I didn't know better.

Haha. There's a MAZE level. That is one single 50 second turn. At least the computer seems to come up with the same solution every time, but it's more like a ridiculous space-time puzzle than like the rest of the game. Does anyone know a solution to that? Youtube found me nothing.* Also, the story is dumb, the more towards the end the less I bother reading the dialogues. *edit: ok, it wasn't that hard. there was a certain point where i went to intercept them in the maze where amazingly my 2 guys defeated 5 enemies that were coming in a close formation, then ran back to the middle to defend the room. With one way blocked, it was much easier.

Statis looks like an interesting in-development indie adventure game. I just found it accidentally, but wasn't it in IGF or something a couple of years ago?

It probably isn't Rob Blanc (by Yahtzee)? Or 7 Days a Skeptic (also by Yahtzee)? Those are the only spaceship AGS games I remember. I also remember that screen being turned upside down thing, but don't remember the game (not sure if it's one of the two above) [edit] there's also this http://www.bigbluecup.com/games.php?action=detail&id=1019 but that's probably not it either and it's newer

Ended up making that one. I was hesitant of making it at first since the Minishark cost so much and ammo is rare. But by the time I had found about 50 stars, I just didn't know what else I'd do with them so I used them to defeat the Skeletron. Found the Muramasa in the dungeon, now I feel invincible! I guess I'll just end up building a little bit and then shelving it until new content comes. The building side in 2D doesn't interest me as much as in Minecraft (and even in Minecraft my map is probably quite empty-looking compared to most people's). Maybe it would be more interesting if there were walkable stairs.

Looked about in and around the central station, but couldn't find any minecarts anywhere -
Got enough hellstone for the molten armor set and a flamarang. Had to make a hellevator and make lots of short trips down. So I now have the best armor, should still look for some better weapons, and have a couple of unexplored areas (jungle, dungeon). Besides that, what now? I still have the Skeletron to kill, is that considered the endgame? I did some google and wiki searching, but didn't find anything about this game having an actual ending.

I found the Underground creatures spawn less near the very bottom, where there's not much space, just ash, hellstone and lava. A hint in the wiki was helpful too -- Imps can't spawn if there is no horizontal ground. If they do spawn, I'm only able to avoid about half of the projectiles while holding the mouse button with a pickaxe.
-
Any hints for handling the Underworld? Those fire imps keep killing me. I already have Shadowscale armor, a Phaseblade and an Obsidian Skull.
-
Killed two Eaters of Worlds and made some shadow armor and a nightmare pickaxe. I hope I'm getting close to the end because this game is eating up all my time. I think I will just play until the endgame and then maybe occasionally go and build something -- I'm probably playing it more like a platformer and less like a sandbox than most people, haven't even built a proper shaft.

What the... Steam is downloading the whole game yet again. I thought they (were supposed to) fix that.
-
Yes, with this fix, it's the correct Conradian interpretation of the data.

No. All I know is that if Far Cry 2 was a far cry from Far Cry, Far Cry 3 is more like half a Far Cry from Far Cry 1 and about another half a far cry from Far Cry 2. But that's just looking at the axis projection, where the axis is between Far Cy and Far Cry 2. If we do triangulation then it might be more than half a far cry from either previous Far Cry.
