Aren't almost all of the developers doing something about it by not putting in morality systems?
-
That stuff doesn't bother me at all, but what bothers me is that (and I think someone already said something along these lines here) they might be trying to please some loudmouthed fans who might not actually number that many and they'll make a game that is unplayable by today's standards. e.g. I don't even think the original two Fallouts play that well today.
-
Actually the first time I played Thief (3-4 levels maybe) I didn't like it at all for some reason. I guess it was also after Thief II that I went back to the first one.
-
Although the Thief series became one of my favourite ever, I never finished the first game for various reasons. That article spoiled it a bit, but I still want to finish it some day. Unfortunately, I think I deleted my mid-game savegames again
-
I agree with you, although I haven't played KOTOR / Mass Effect / Fable a lot (started the first ones of each but didn't finish). The Witcher (both I think) is another good example of morality system that isn't really a morality system and doesn't make you think you chose the wrong path*. [edit]* well, maybe it does sometimes, but it's not because of the pushing towards good/evil, but more about "hm... this is not what I wanted to happen, I'll try the other evil, maybe it's lesser". I think there are not that many places in the game where the consequence is immediately seen, though.

Wow, didn't think this would get funded that fast, but it's getting close to the 900'000 goal already.
-
Awesome! It's going to be 10% better than Grim Fandango.
-
Whoa. Tim Schafer mentioned Idle Thumbs (as a kickstarter project he is going to back)
-
oh, sorry, I think i misread your previous post. Yeah, they send you an e-mail if it fails. I think I was removed as a backer from some thing when it failed and I was too lazy to create a new card.
-
Whoa, I left it downloading on iTunes in the background, then suddenly heard "check check" from a voice that sounded somewhat like Nick Breckon. Went back to iTunes, checked that it didn't begin with anything like that, but it probably came from the Double Fine ustream that I also had open.
-
Probably not. In fact, I have 3 cards there (all the 40-day ones) and they always pick the oldest and most expired one by default for some reason.
-
Since I'm at work and a bit busy I just backed without even looking at things. Only $15 for me though, haven't played the original or Bard's Tales so I know very little about those game(maker)s.
-
Ehh.. makes sense. I added an extra dollar anyway (won't hurt), and I needed to go and change my payment options anyway as well since my previous temp virtual card expired
-
You can still change your pledge. But it's weird that you have to add a dollar. I guess it is because of more fees. Hm.. maybe i have to add a dollar as well.

That's my fave too. I thought there was something odd about this image, but stupidly only got it now -- Tim is mimicking Manny's pose, but that smile is totally not how I would extrapolate Manny's mouth expression into the real world. But then maybe it was supposed to be like that all along?????!!!??

yeah, I've seen some graphs back from when it was around 1M but it would be interesting to see one for the whole period.

It's in my sig too but @t4ffer Fair warning: I occasionally plug my bread-bringing shit there and/or übergeeky programming stuff.

"Phaedrus" seems to be an ok seed as well. Starts near a broken village. Your mission is to make the village prosper and then go over the big mountain and build a wizards tower on that phallic smaller mountain. Didn't explore very far but there's some jungle and lakes as well.

Is it Nick Breckon?

My frothing demand for this game increases.

Maybe it's this: http://store.steampowered.com/recommended/byafriend/19900/76561197969204208/ ? Probably not.

Hmm. What does this game remind me of ...
-
I got maybe half of the pieces of the story or so -- don't remember much of it, was a while ago.
