  1. Which is weird. I seem to enjoy almost every part of the game for a while, and then hit a mission which is just about my least favorite thing. Then I get past it and return to it being my favorite game of the year so far. Then another really stupid thing happens.

Haha that's my feeling too, but we keep coming back so it must be good.

However one thing that bothers me about the game is how light it is on story and cutscenes. I never thought I'd say that about Metal Gear. The gameplay to cutscene ratio almost feels like an American RPG. I've played for 30 hours and really not much has happened, it's like I am playing a Bethesda game. Really at 30 hours in a Metal Gear game you shouldn't be asking where the story is, you should be finishing your second run through.

  2. I'm not sure how to get quiet out of the brig, can anyone help me out? I am just jamming through side ops because I got to a very difficult story mission and want her as a buddy...

The skulls are protecting the truck that I have to steal/airlift cant remember the number right now

Do I have to go back and play through a mission a certain way or do I just keep doing side ops?

So far played it for about 25 hours and it's the best, gameplay wise, metal gear has always been (although I do like the super stripped down sneaking of MGS1 a lot still). But surprisingly/disappointingly light on story. It has a Peacewalker vibe but without the cool cutscenes.

  3. I would argue that MGS1 is the tightest and most playable (as a top down stealth action game) while MGS3 is the worst since they hadn't figured out the third person camera very well yet.

Tho, I also hold the unpopular opinion that Twin Snakes is a down grade of MGS1 in all but graphics (fight me).

    Agree on all points.

  4. If you can't even bother finishing the first MGS (you're probably half way through at 3 hours) then probably the series is not for you. If you play the first part of MGS2 and can't 'feel the magic', its not for you.

The sexualized hyper-violence is off putting, I think mgs4 was the worst offender so far.

  5. The kickstarter is already at $500k after a few minutes, so I guess it will do just fine. I will probably play it even though I really didn't like number 2 at all.

Hmm maybe I'll pick it up in a steam sale.

  6. Broken Age...I backed at the big box tier and was cautiously optimistic during development, but it's not really for me. Even at the sentimental level, the look and feel of the game is off-putting. Maybe I will get around to act 2 eventually but after firing it up and poking around a little bit I realize I am just not really into it.
