You're forgetting about the Atari classic, ET. Seriously though, there have been worse movies for better games. Like wing commander....although I've never seen the movie. Or played the game. But based on reviews, I think my statement is atleast partially correct.

PSP will probably end up being much too expensive...and it seems that most of its games will be PS2 ports . Besides, the DS is trying something new and I think its touch screen is pretty cool, so DS it is! Plus, I think the real sequel to the Wind Waker will be on DS, so that's a plus.

I'm playing "boktai" the game on gameboy advance that uses a solar sensor. Its pretty great. Half metal gear, half zelda, pure goodness. And I'm replaying CMI, that game's damn funny.

I actually feel good if I'm stealing from Microsoft or EA (aka the scourge of the earth which has devoured creativity). But when it comes to games that are more niche, e.g. the upcoming psychonauts, you have to support the developer because we need fresh ideas. Besides, if I really like what I've stolen I always get atleast a used copy of the game or CD.

Twas I indeed. But in the case of Dreamfall it was just some freindly specualtion. In GTA3's case, I know it sucks. Completely derivative, no creativity, putrid graphics...the radio stations were mildly entertaining at least. It is the Mortal Kombat of this decade. And I don't give two fucks if you agree or not. I didn't even want to start a GTA discussion, I just wanted to say the article wasn't funny. :ratchet:

In GTA you can't do whatever you want. You can do mostly whatever you want as long as its violent. I'm not blaming anything on anyone, I think GTA should stay, there is no argument! We're all on the same side! And I for one liked GTA2's graphics more, it had a style, the colored lighting was nice, and the little nuances like pulling the camera back at fast speeds was cool. GTA3's graphics are just an eye sore. Granted GTA2 was in 2d, but if you put GTA3 in a top down view it doesn't look nearly as good.

...uh, what are you talking about? Anywho, I didn't like the GTA feature. I didn't laugh. I smiled once. GTA does promote violence, and has for a long time...way back to its 2d roots. The fact of the matter is, it was only popular enough when it was made into a casual-gamer based, 3d game on the PS2 that enough soccer moms started bitching about it. The game has always been about ridculous over-the top violence, and you can indeed get points in "kill-frenzies" (atleast in GTA 2, which was much better than 3...better graphics too). But thats not the point. The point is this is America, and we want to do whatever the fuck we want when it comes to games, movies, speech, literature, etc. Fucking Lieberman and his left-wing pals, raining on our parade. Oh, and GTA 3 blows.

Ive actually never played the games, I was just assuming their stories were better than: hell on mars, kill everything that moves.

If there's one thing Larry David can do, its bitch. And you're comparing console RPGs to PC adventure games...Why not compare console adventures to PC ones, like "Earthbound" for SNES, etc. Also, the cartridge limitations were killer for the SNES games. But the real reason the two are so different are because consoles at the time, and even now, were basically 100% Japanese. They dig the melodrama, and aren't into the LEC style humor.

Baltimore NPR is pretty great, although I'm not sure which of the people are broadcast across the country and which are local. But the one the one radio show I really love is cartalk, I'm not much into cars but I find it hilarious all the same.

If you read into it you'll find out thats its the most unique system created for a long time. I'd rather have a hideous system thats fun as hell than have a sleek $300 brick in my pocket. Besides, a new side scrolling mario means I'm getting it.

Lets admit it. Syberia 1 and 2 both sucked. And while the backgrund story is kind of unique, the way the games are played and presented are boring as hell. Terrible voice acting, shite story and script and boring-ass puzzles. Dreamfall, the newest of these still-born adventures, looks like more of the same; a dedicated art team putting their all into a game that features a female-deteive lead who's "her own woman". Where the fuck are the Mexican-Skeleton caliber ideas?! Why the fuck was Sam and Max cancelled!? Why are we leaving the future of adventure games to people who live in British Columbia? I need answers!

Hehe, that was pretty cool, NPR has some pretty awesome stories sometimes, but they're hidden under so many layers of shit talk radio and passe jazz that I don't even bother trying to listen for one unless I'm on a long car trip. Thanks for the link.
