I've tested all of those except Dig (which I don't own and have never played). CMI's resolution is atleast twice that of of PDA though, so it's pushing it on size. The fullthrottle bits on the bike are impossible too (it actually might crash it, I'm not sure), so if you put it on remember to play those parts through on your PC Scumm--the saves are transferable. Hell, I'm ready for Grim Fandango.

One detail I really thought was awesome was that when you were looking at Link and pushed the directional stick slightly, he would shift his eyes to see where he was about to go. I'm not sure who got his hands on that Zelda and made it so awesome, but it had a charm and quality that is unmatched by any other Zelda game.

There's just so many jarringly bizarre lines in there, and I can only asume that the spoiler-heavy parts are chock full of similarly akward prose. My favorite was this head scratching failed attempt at sarcasm: "Though I miss the boring gray walls of endless buildings and rehashed environments in every first-person shooter, I just love the look of Psychonauts." Although this embarassingly telling line is good too: "Though Schafer has shied away from sequels in the past, I hope Psychonauts proves to be the exception, as a second go could turn in a truly classic game experience." I'm sure he/she is also eagerly anticipating the red-blue 3d release of Citizen Kane 2: Warrior Within.

Yeah, the games would actually be far improved without the pixel hunting, but thinking it would be harder on a smaller screen isn't necessarily true, the resolutions of these games were 320x240 (mostly), I play adventures on my PDA and sam and Max and Full Throttle looks great and actually smooth, as well as preceding adventures, in terms of clarity and ease of use. CMI was a bit harder, if I didn't know where verything was it might be quite difficult.

A larger amount of RAM is useless except for playing games with super-high-resolution textures on special settings like Doom 3 (this is becoming a more frequent option). Quite frankly, it wouldn't make a damn difference how much ram you had because you'd be playing it at 6 fps on a regular 9600. 9600PRO is much faster, although by todays standards it is the budget end of DX9 cards (a good card though, I recommend it, and it can stand relatively large amounts of overclocking).

Sapphire is fine, make sure that the speed is appropriate for the card and not slightly underclocked. If the clock speeds are Ok the only way they could really be "cheap" was if the overclocking ability was hampered, usually not a problem and you won't even be overclocking. If they're not trying to rip you off just buy whatever is cheapest.

No there are inside bits too... I've never played a submarine game, sadly it doesn't have a demo so I'm deliberating on what to do.

Sometimes there can be problems with AGP setting in videodrivers...go to them and look under "smartgart", put it one down from whatever it is and give it another try. But first try turning anti-aliasing off. Since we have the same video card these are some of the cures I've found for other problematic games, but my guess is it probably won't work and you'd be better off googling for a help forum.

Yeah, those Riddick reviews are pretty strange maybe I didn't get it but I thought the game wasn't very good. It relied heavily on interaction, but it was embarassingly written and acted, like a bad version of that ancient game 'Kingpin', that's how it felt to me. The use of Vin was good, and the graphics are very good...I just wouldn't put it on the list because I don't think its worth the time. SWAT4 is good, just won't push the hardware or surpass Doom3 or HL2. You know what I mean?

Oh yeah, I know all about PC games that will look good sometime in the undetermined future, but Chris asked specifically for games that looked basically as good as HL2 and were also great games. I wouldn't put Chronicles of Riddick (shit) or SWAT 4 (not really that great looking)on a list like that.
