  1. I think this is as good as any to mention my love for Conan's best segment ever, 'Peair(sp?) Bernard's Recliner of Rage.' I feel for you Peair, Stargate really is better with that guy dead.
  2. Katamari Damacy trailer

I almost feel bad not likeing the intro, concidering all the people raveing about it. It annoys the hell out of me.
  3. Coolest prop

The wallet with bad mutha fucka on it, Pulp Fiction. I need to get one of those.
  4. What's the worst you've done in a videogame?

The Images, THE IMAGES! Anyway... Um.. The ending of Ico:
  5. Gamecube or Xbox

Oh, and the weird things you mentioned about the Nintendo games, that in the Zelda series you do not play as Zelda and the conservitveness of Samus, is exactaly why I like them. The conventions of thousands of years of story evolution in America and outher parts of the world were totaly unheard of by the Japinese, so the geniuses at Nintendo were able create something totaly out there. Of course this lack of evolution is exactly why I don't like most anime, but that's a different rant.
  6. I think George is a differnt Romero...
  7. Katamari Damacy will rock you.

Heaven forbid that we have television that *gasp* tells a story...
  8. The Detinator!!!

Speaking of Theme park rides, has anyone been on a coaster like Superman where you lay on your belly? I have and it was the closest thing to nirvana that I had ever experanced. Only thirty seconds long, it was worth the thirty minutes of wait.
  9. He, I liked it. It's kind of a not funny event, but written well. You got us trough the part pointing out that it was tramatic very well, makeing the punchline funner.
  10. Warrior Within (combat system)

This is one of those things that we will have to wait for the game to coming out before I judge if more of a focus on combat is a good thing or not. I personaly like that their trying something new and not going with just a repeat of what they did before. One last comment: the story of the Prince being fated to die at the begining and seeing when it will happen sounds really really cool!
  11. Slim PS2... I'm tempted

Dude, I actually like the top loading better. I don't have to be so gentle in getting the disk in the tray.
  12. http://www.apple.com/imac/ It's so... perfect! All that crap stufed into this little tiny box with no real skimping anywhere. There must be a catch, like headphone jack that you can beak with your fingernail or something! Arggggg!
  13. Call to Thumbs: Rise of Nations

Ah, go ahead and steal my ideas. The concept of RoN is to make a RTS that has the feel of Turn Based Strategy, meaning that you feel like you are the head of a huge nation conquering the world, controlling it from it’s formation to it’s inevitable downfall or rule of the world. And at that it mostly succeeds, except the parts of the game that go back to the usual resource management and fighting of every outer RTS. The game tries to make these RTS standards feel like controlling a nation, and with things like different nations with different gameplay feel and a evolving time-frame it almost works, but the reality is that the game is on a set path to becoming a modern nation with new ways to blow the other nation up. But the game includes enough strategy complexity to make it fun to play, it’s just not a revolution on the RTS. But the game does come close to a revolution, and if the sequel includes the following it may be a classic: - You know in civilization (or maybe only in Alpha Centari, the only one in the series I played) when you go into diplomacy with different nations it really felt like you were conversing with them, and had more options than asking for resources and state of alliance? Put that in this game, or at least the Play the World mode, and I definitely would like it better. You may be able to have a pause in the game where you could do the diplomacy, and doing it too often with a person would annoy them. - How about other cinematic things and a story? Actually it was put that in the expansion so good job. - City governors? - Generals with different personalities? - Rebellions and other cool random events, but not too often and too cheap? All those things would make the game feel like what it originally set out to do, give the player an experience like he is the ruler of a nation. Edit: Sweet, I got into the article! My rise to fame has begun!
  14. YAR! it be talk like a pirate day!

    Yarrrrrrr! ahhh, Yarrrr!
  15. Giant enemies etc.

Actually, Wanda is just a tranlation. I hope to high heaven that they give her a better name before release. I'll buy it anyway, though.
  16. Quake IV in PC Zone

You know, after the info storm of Doom3 and HL2, I've desided to not give a crap about Q4 until it's released. Just too much pain.
  17. GTA: San Andreas screenshots

Career progresion would be cool, especually if they put a few choices in there of what you can become. Being a crooked cop in GTA would be kickass. You know, if they did it right.
  18. Psychonauts gets a publisher: Majesco

The reson Halo worked with two sticks is all the aiming help it gave you. So, with a little work from the developer, two sticks and mouse and keyboard can work just as well. Inside the brain of a person who has plaied too many turn based games. Cool.
  19. Psychonauts gets a publisher: Majesco

Well, I said it was horse crap. Would of worked though, without the pc port.
  20. Psychonauts gets a publisher: Majesco

It does sound weird that the game is picked up so easily by Microsoft then droped so suddenly, but I think I know why. I remember reading in an interview that Psychonats was orignaly going to come out on PS2 , the system that many weird games alredy come out on. When Microsoft said that they would publish the game, the whole production changed systems to xbox. Now that the producton has gone on too long to revert back to the PS2, Microsoft can give the game to anouther publisher and have Psychonats be xbox exclusive. Psychonats is the kind of game that could likely sell a few systems to the kind of gamer that haven't been buying a lot of their console yet, a very good plan. The only problem is that Majesco is now going to make a PC version, putting a hole in Microsoft's perfect plan. Of corse this is probably just a bunch of horse crap, but I will still buy my copy on the PC, thank you. Unless, of corse, they cancel that version or it sucks.
  21. Jedi Knight II owns my ass

I think that the main reason that it was paned by critics was that you don't get your lightsaber untill a good bit into the game. Remeber the pitch black caves and walker level? And when you finaly get the light saber the first level they through at you is one of the games hardest. It actually gets easier as the game goes on. It's certanly not horable though, as I seemed to enjoy it more a second time through. Multiplayer deathmatch owned though, but the capture the blank modes were not as well concieved.
  22. Features all games should have

If the game can implement it with out ruining the mood, a PC or Xbox game are usually greatly improved with an in game MP3 player.
  23. DS, PSP ...... N-gage? (neh)

The Zodac if it get's a killer app.
  24. But Arrr, you forget the sims. But searously, you forget that realstic animation can be used to "immerse yourself in a place that doesn't look like the one you get to see everyday anyway," like the examples in Yufster post. Realism, I find, can be just as good as something totaly out there. While I agree that many realistic games could be much improved if they went more crazy (think MGS, with monkeys!), but just because they are realistic doesn't make them crap, and
  25. BG&E and Toy Story are rare examples done by extremely talented animators, most of the realistic stuff done in computer animation looks like crap. And, while the writer extremely over exaggerates every point (see his last paragraph, it's like he's shouting Dooooooom! Doooooom!), his point is that it is better to tug our emotions with stylized characters then with realistic ones. The example that Bill Tiller uses in this interview is a good example of that.
