  1. Rogue Legacy

I just tested FRAPS and Media Encoder and Youtube in preparation for the Idle Thumbs PC GTA IV Revivening this Monday, which I probably won't be able to attend, and this is what happened:
  2. Rogue Legacy

First of all, this is the wrong thread, isn't it? I'm suddenly very confused. The physical traits you upgrade incrementally, aren't those castle upgrades, though, so not technically biological traits to be passed down? edit: Just realized that inheriting the improved castle does in fact play into the legacy thing, so never mind.
  3. Rogue Legacy

If you start picking at the premise it all falls apart pretty quickly. Physical traits are never inherited, but the stuff you take into the castle is. I can't come up with something that wraps all the mechanics up any better, though.
  4. GTA V

I have a feeling platform fragmentation is going to be the death of the Grand Thumbs Auto revivening. Damn it, why aren't all games platform exclusive?!
  5. GTA V

There will be a PC GTA IV multiplayer thing on Monday. Read all about it here: Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition
  6. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

I'll get everything set up, just in case, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it. Everyone else: This is something you don't want to miss! I bet GTA IV has gotten pretty cheap on Steam, too.
  7. Let's Draw Video Games

I both approve of this thread, and intend to contribute in the very near future.
  8. GTA V

Yeah, those are the reasons I'm annoyed. No, I'm just telling a joke! In actuality I'm more annoyed that I feel certain it will do the thing The Last of Us did, which is being great, but struggling visibly with the limitations of the platform. Also, I'm not that concerned with maximizing the value of my Xbox 360 or PS3 at this point. Having actual people to play with is a good point, though, which reminds me I'll have to figure out which platform people are getting this on. We've had 63 Idle Thumbs GTA IV multiplayer sessions on the Xbox 360, and I'm hopeful we could get something like that going again, though the platform may change.
  9. GTA V

For the first half I sat wondering what this lady was doing reading this weird description of the game like some sort of press release, and was half-expecting some sort of meta twist, but then they showed the GTA online clip and I completely forgot about the narration. Apparently they're doing much more with the multiplayer this time around – that could turn out very good. So annoyed this is current-gen consoles.
  10. GTA V

    Holy yes.
  11. Lioness

Lioness Kickstarter, currently over half-way to their seven thousand dollar goal. I'm not sure exactly what this is, but I'm intrigued. «LIONHEART DRIVE (or "LIONESS") is an experimental adventure game about human connection.» Yeah, that didn't help.
  12. Spelunky!

PC version is out in August! edit: Also, can someone confirm that this game has absolutely no Rogue Legacy-like progress between attempts? Once you die, you're back to zero?
  13. Deleting or deactivating your account?

But banks are so quirky and cute!
  14. R.I.P. Ryan Davis

This is terrible. Never having met him in person, only having seen and heard him on the Giant Bomb podcasts and videos, it's a weird feeling, internet mourning. Based on the reactions on Twitter and elsewhere, it's pretty clear he was a pretty spectacular guy.
  15. Rogue Legacy

Man, this game. I'm at work, and then suddenly I think «I would really like to be playing some Rogue Legacy right now.» I really like the structure of short, varied loops that slowly move toward a greater goal. My impression of proper roguelikes is that there is absolutely no progress in the game state, which makes it feel pointless, or at least too stressful for me to attempt. The addition of actual progress, and the knowledge that even if I fuck up here, I'll at least get a little closer to the end, makes all the difference to me.
  16. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Any examples? I was 100% certain you always had a way out of whatever pickle you were in.
  17. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Are you sure? I seem to remember it being unstuckable ...
  18. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

God damnit yes. Here's a fighting related tip that's not really a spoiler, though I'll put it in such a tag nonetheless: Anyone else want to comment on this?
  19. Arma 3 Beta Shenanigans

    Neeearrr
  20. Rogue Legacy

I'm not disappointed at all, if that's what you're implying. edit: To clarify, I was wondering if what appears to be the intended message or effect of including a gay trait had inadvertently been subverted by its own existence, which would've been interesting. I wasn't aware there were lots of negative/positive/neutral traits. I'm sorry if I came off as looking to pick a fight with this game or something.
  21. Rogue Legacy

    Ah, okay.
  22. Rogue Legacy

I was just thinking that if you're going to have a trait that says "gay" that doesn't do anything, and it takes up a slot, it's actually sort of a drawback, no?
  23. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I really recommend watching the episodes as they come out. They're intentionally avoiding story details, spoiling literally nothing – certainly less than your average game marketing. The main focus is the people (some great portrait episodes not about the game at all) and the process. WATCH IT !!!
