  7. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

Yes, I think most, if not all, should disable the mod.
  8. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I still think Teg should do one but that's just me, toblix.
  9. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I think Crystal Cove comes with a room like that.

WHO TALKS LIKE THAT IT'S TERRIBLE edit: Is that a common way of doing video narration? Have I just lived my whole life without ever hearing that kind of horrible droning, or have I suddenly become aware of it? Is it just me? I couldn't watch the video all the way through – my brain kept focusing on the disgusting fake enthusiasm repetitive tone pattern recitation, easily predicting exactly how every next word would come slithering out, and I missed the message completely. This game has followed a depressing trajectory, starting by launching off the high expectations people naturally had after playing the fantastic «Deus Ex: Human Revolution,» and today scraping along the ground as a whittled-down, watered-out version of the original game(s) without any of the exploration, systems or room for improvisation. Everything I've read about it makes it seem like a good contender for disappointment of the year. Let's hope it surprises everyone by being terrific!
  11. Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary

FUN fact: Though I do enjoy the Idle Thumbs podcast, I've only ever laughed out loud and re-listened to a part of it once, and that was when they were discussing (I think it was) Far Cry Instincts, and someone described very briefly how it would destroy your speakers or something. I found that extraordinarily hilarious and made the choice to listen to that part once more some time later.
  12. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

I never actually manually switched, since I kept expecting to be introduced to the mechanic, like in any modern game, and suddenly I had finished it. I should go back and see if it has a cool effect or something.
  13. Photos of things

    Nice!
  14. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

What a weird conflict. Is there any way to include something from everyone? Is this becoming a whole different thing now?

  16. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

I guess mumble.com went down just as the game also did. It's almost like we broke the internet for a second.
  17. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

This was good. I was sort of hoping for harder, more complex puzzles, but it's probably good that they toned down the 90s, and the puzzles still felt satisfying and logical. The visuals were fantastic; the lighting, parallax and full-body animation are all the things a modern 2D adventure game should have, and I didn't notice any bugs other than suddenly turning really big when checking the hipster woodcutter's mail box. Hopefully the engine will continue to be used and developed to do even more amazing stuff in the future. The voices were great, and the sound! And the music! The music was fantastic! So when is act 2 out?
  18. Grand Thumb Auto retro PC edition

Oh it's this thing! The usual time is eighty minutes from now, though I've seen an unusually low volume of related social media activity, which could mean the turnout will be critically low. I guess we'll see.
  19. The threat of Big Dog

At least you'll get fair warning by the 899 precursor robots that come stumbling towards you, each one managing one step more than the last.
  20. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

It sounds like the two expected types of problems with the beta are compatibility stuff (though they've used an external tester for that) and localization stuff.
