  1. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I wonder though how big is his indie development team this time? Braid took about four years to make from the initial idea to the final product so it's a tight schedule to have this come out sometime in 2011. It will be interesting to see how this develops during the production.
  2. Rittai Kakushi E Attakoreda

How is it possible to do something like that on the DS?
  3. Keeping your data safe

I had a similar, but microscopic insident compared to you last week when my 16GB Kingston USB memory card just when to RAW format suddenly and I lost all my files. I checked through the internet to try to find some way to get all my precious files back from the bit heaven. I found several programs that can be used for data recovery and finally I was able to do exactly that. Most programs cost a lot of money, but they work. In the end I got all my lost files back. Handy Recovery was the name of one of the good, but costly programs. One other was some Getor or Gator or something like that. I think I lost a few nights of good sleep to check this crap out...
  4. Nintendo Media Summit

Sorry Chris, but the PC version is of course the original and already released a long time ago so the exclusivity is not true. The XBox and Wii version will still have loads of extra stuff in that are different from the original PC version. Apparently there will be at least a release through Steam, which I didn't know of actually so that is why I was talking about the so called exclusivity.
  5. Recently completed video games

I have Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast, I once played something like 20 hours of it and then quit for unknown reasons. I would like to complete it because it was quite good and addictive even if it was a bit ugly on the graphical side. I should fire it up someday, my Dreamcast has been waiting for the return to action day. During the weekend I actually was cleaning and moving stuff in the big closet and I found all my Megadrive, 32X, Saturn and Dreamcast games. Need to put those to use soon.
  6. Movie/TV recommendations

The Fifth Element is a great movie. I watched it so many times that I've lost count. Funny fact though is that Bruce Willis was not supposed to star in it. The main role was supposed to be for Jean Reno, the man always in Luc Besson's movies, but for some reason that did not happen so Bruce got the part.
  7. Nintendo Media Summit

I guess it's for DSi then. All the piles of new information just ran over me in the morning so I maybe mixed up that. I double checked my sources and it is indeed a WIIWARE game, the DIY game for DSi is a separate thing. The game announced is Warioware D.I.Y. Showcase, exclusive to Wiiware channel. It will have more than 70 minigames and have some kind of interoperability with the DSi version. You can transfer minigames between the products, even minigames that you have created yourself.
  8. Gaming virginity loss.

I remember Frontier. Shamed to admit, but that game was a pirated version on our old Amiga ages ago. Don't know where we got it from, but I guess this one came from one of my brother's friends. I never really understood how to play it as we didn't have the manual. I managed to get the police always arrive when I shot around the first city where the game started. I loved the music, I was always humming the Amiga tunes when I was a kid.
  9. Mice for gamers.

My mom actually has a vertical mouse and says that it works. Always when I try to use the mouse, it just feels too weird. At my workplace I use this Rollermouse free and it's perfect for non-gaming! Also I have a bit of a problem using normal mouses these days so when I use this 8 hours per day it really releases the pressure in my hands.
  10. Fucking PC gaming!

Dreamfall is still a problem to me, but this other problem is one that I guess many have had. I bought during the Christmas sale from Steam the Chronicles of Riddick combo with Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena. I don't know why, but the menu and the game are really sluggish. Everything is running like 10-15 frames per second max. I would bet that a game from 2004 should work better on my computer that has a Core2Duo processor and two 8600GT graphics cards running. The fault must be somewhere with drivers or with the game itself? Has anyone had this problem with Riddick either now or years ago?
  11. Recently completed video games

I completed yesterday Hotel Dusk finally. Holy crap there's a lot of text in the game. And not much else actually. Some of the puzzles were fun, but most were not that much. That's how it always seems to be with Cing's games. I've played through both of the Another Code games and now this. All of them have so much similarities that you can immediately say it's a Cing game.
  12. Worms Reloaded

2D Worms game on PC is always welcome.
  13. So it seems I'm going to Canada in the middle of March for five days or so. Location will be at least Toronto, but plans are to check also Ottawa and maybe Montreal if we have time. Do you have any suggestions what to see there? I've never been to Canada so I don't know anything. I know only that as a sports nut I will go see Hockey Hall of Fame on one day and the CN Tower that is apparently close to the HHoF. All suggestions are appreciated.
  14. Mice for gamers.

I've had Logitech LX8 cordless laser mouse for a few years now and I've been pretty happy with it. I will not go back to corded mouses anymore, I love the cordless freedom. I would get also a cordless keyboard, but unfortunately nobody really makes good basic cordless keyboards without the "helpful" quick access keys. Logitech has couple, but those are a bit bad looking and feeling.
  15. Canada and specifically Toronto

The trip in the end will be closer to 7 days, and now that we finalized our trip schedule during the weekend. We will start the trip from Montreal, tickets were cheapest that way. Then we will make a work around Montreal and Ottawa and go to Toronto for the last couple of days. Thanks for the advices! Floordje, I think I will PM you about Montreal before the trip. One person coming along speaks good French so he will be the interpreter in Montreal if needed.
  16. Gaming virginity loss.

My first gaming experience happened with this machine somewhere around 1987 when I was about 5 years old. I have no idea which one was the first game though.
  17. Canada and specifically Toronto

Yes that's true, we are looking into the option to arrive at Toronto, but leave back in Montreal. We might actually end up skipping Ottawa and go straight to Montreal from Toronto. Even though it's happening already a month from now, the plans are still kind of open in what we will do there other than be in Toronto. Time is short and plan is not to have too much stuff happening, otherwise there's no time to relax and enjoy.
  18. Original Xbox live games.

I think they are only cancelling the online capabilities of the games, not the actual games and buying of them.
  19. Sonic 4

Hmm, it has been revealed that Sonic team is apparently not behind Sonic 4. The developer of the upcoming episodic games is Dimps, the developer that made the Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance games. Well, Sonic team is not The original great Sonic Team anymore, but Dimps' handheld console Sonic games were not good in my opinion. I have played all of them except the second Sonic Rush DS game and the Bioware Sonic.
  20. Original Xbox live games.

I'd buy that for a dollar!
  21. L.A. Noire

When is Mafia 2 coming out? I really need to play the first one once again, I seem to remember that being awesome in almost every way and only the racing stuff was badly done.
  22. Downward F@#$ing Dog! (No More Heroes 2 Discussion)

I have only the first game and it's in my to do list, I only played about an hour of it when I got it. I hope to be playing it before the summer comes. The second one I will buy propably in summer or after summer.
  23. Heavy Rain

Of course I have no solid proof so I might be talking crap, but I've had the feeling for a long time already that there is a Sony marketing hype engine behind the game. There's rarely any advertising for anything games related in Finland.
  24. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Doug T. and Moos!
  25. Heavy Rain

How big budget did Heavy Rain actually have? It's amazing how David Cage can talk himself to have such big budgets, because even though I don't know the actual budget figures, but this looks like a biiiig budget game. At least the marketing engine of Sony is behind it totally.
