  1. Movie/TV recommendations

Crap, sorry mate. Shows that I'm really following the discussion... It's been a few years since I last saw that page in the digital bits, but I just remembered it because of the Air Force One movie, I totally didn't see that you linked that very article on the previous page.
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

I've always liked this article regarding different aspect ratios: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/articles/anamorphic/aspectratios/widescreenorama2.html It's really weird always when I think the difference between widescreen format vs. full frame format. Like the example of Air Force One from 1997, the VHS full frame version shows MORE than the theater widescreen version.
  3. The most interesting aspect to me about the new Prince of Persia is that they seem to have really tried to make different experiences on different gaming platforms. From what I read the 360/PS3/PC versions are the same, but the Wii version is genuinely different compared to the others. Some even say it looks better in character animation for example? Of course the DS version takes another route also, but is similar apparently to the previous DS PoP game, I think the engine is the same and just the graphical assets are changed.
  4. DeathSpank

There's a new video of Deathspank up on propably every games news website now. I will be so sad if this game would never come to PC. I really want it! It feels so damn good jsut by looking at the video! I know Ron is joking all the time about a [REDACTED] version. That has to be the PC version.
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

I have not yet watched the finale, but I'm supposed to watch it maybe today if I have the time.

By the way, what is this new take on Metropolis that I saw in apple.com's movie trailer pages? Some kind of "The Complete Metropolis" with some 25 minutes of "previously lost footage".
  7. General Video Game Deals Thread

I also got the email and I've also bought all the three seasons a long time ago. Just makes me frustrated to see discounts that are no use to me...
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

That was the ending we saw.
  9. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah, he was awesome in Being John Malkovich and really good in High Fidelity also. Lately he has made some weird career choices like 2012 and 1408. maybe he likes movies with numbers.
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

The only movie I watched this weekend was one that came from tv. It was this one horror/suspense movie called 1408 from 2007. I think it wasn't that good, but as my wife is a horror movie fan, we decided to watch it. Shortly put, the movie is about a guy who goes in to a scary hotel room. Even Samuel L. J. wasn't that good in this movie. I have started to watch The Pacific, I have watched five episodes so far. It's a bit touchy subject as it's the Americans war against the Japanese so my wife doesn't like it. I've been watching it alone.
  11. It's gonna be like EuroTrip, except less suck

Only central European city I've been to is Vienna and that was kind of nice. There was a lot there that I didn't get to see as we were there only for two days. It's a really historic city.
  12. Wizaaaaaards!!

12/16 I think the wizards cheated and fooled me.
  13. RIP Ronnie James Dio

Yes, Ozzy's dear wife denied the other Sabbath members the use of Black Sabbath name if Dio is the singer. I think she/Ozzy owns at least partly the rights to the name...

If I remember correctly, isn't it true that most of the most legendary action and scifi movies of the 80's and 90's were produced by Carolco? Which then went down the drain when they believed too much in Renny Harlin and his Cutthroat Island, the Pirates of the Caribbean of the 90's.
  15. Bit.Trip series

I was thinking of buying it on Friday, but I will first have to go through some other stuff in my backlog. And I would also need to buy all the other bit.trip games.
  16. Life

I really, really hate the god damn bees, wasps, hornets and everything that looks like those.

Heheh, I didn't know that Consolevania reviewed the game of the movie. I didn't know it either that the game was THAT bad, but it's a movie game so... I watched during the weekend Torrente 1 and as I suspected it was a really low budget movie, but it had it's moments. It's labelled as a dark comedy officially and I guess it falls to that sector. I would give it I hope the second movie improves a lot as the third one is at the moment my favourite of the series. I also watched during the weekend couple of other movies. Because I watched the Universal Soldier: Renegeration movie, I had a feeling that I must see the original movie also as I had never seen that movie before. It was nothing special actually, it had a lot of elements that you can usually find from Roland Emmerich's movies (explosions). Something about this movie is not on the same 80's/early 90's level of awesome as Stallone and Arnold golden oldies. It was that kind of movie that I almost completely forgot scenes of it after I watched it. Not that good. Yesterday on the list was Shoot Em Up. Clive Owen's action movie from 2007. The movie starts really normal and suddenly all hell breaks loose, that was really cool and puzzlingly weird. I have not seen this kind of straight forward action in a while. No explanations, just going and going and going... It's really over the top action. It has the weird references to Buggs Bunny and Elmer Fudd going on in every scene that Owen and Giamatti are in. Also the carrots, what the hell?
  18. Call of Duty: Space Warfare 3

Call Of Duty: Space Asshole Warfare 3. Now there's a game name for the future.

I forgot in my short review that the story is being told deeper with the radio transmissions that 5-6 different persons talk in the radios that are scattered in the mission areas. I think you may end up feeling that it is a generic shooter as plotwise it is just your basic scifi stuff as I said earlier. The ASE is fun device and I've read that for the sequel Wii Motionplus will also be taken to use and they will make the gameplay have much more surprises. This first game was supposed to have Motionplus also originally, but the developers thought that they need more time to really learn to use it's advantages rather than just glue it on top and make it a gimmick.
  20. Far Cry 2

Really need to get back to this game soon. It's been now about three month break from Far Cry 2.
  21. RIP Ronnie James Dio

I was supposed to see Dio for the first time in my life this August in Pori Sonisphere Festival... I'm really sad now... One of the biggest metal gods is gone now...

I had Wizardry 8 once. I bought it used from some guy and had it for about 3-5 years and then I sold it without ever playing it. I don't actually know why I originally even bought it? I finished The Conduit for Wii yesterday. I was actually not supposed to be playing this because I have many other games to be experienced on my list, but a friend loaned me this so I had to try it out. It's about a 10h game, and that suits me perfectly. I don't have the time or patience to play very long games anymore. I played in real time for about 2-3 weeks and in gameplay time it was around 10 hours. I was very interested to try this one out as I had heard that the controls in the game are good. The plot of the game is quite basic scifi plot, and there aren't that many characters in the game's story. You are special agent Ford who gets thrown in the middle of this invasion. I really like that in the beginning you are just a regular guy and later things start to develop to a more scifi way. There's one main character voiced by Kevin Sorbo, the man famous for Hercules and Andromeda. That was a nice plus that I didn't know before I started playing the game. The controls are nearly perfect in the game, everything works really smoothly and aiming and shooting and moving around is really simple and easy. This is how FPS games should be made when you have the possibility for Wii controls. I hate gamepad based shooter games like what you can have on Gamecube, Xbox consoles and Playstation consoles. I have not played Metroid Prime 3 so I don't know how they made the controls with that game, but at least the controls in Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for Wii are pretty bad. Also I have to say about the graphics that those look really nice! Excellent job by the developers with the engine and graphics assets. All in all I really enjoyed playing The Conduit and can surely say that I can't wait to play The Conduit 2. High Voltage Software made a great fps game and they have said to max out the Wii's capabilities in the sequel.

I watched a Spanish movie yesterday. It's called Torrente 3 - El protector. Unbelievably hilarious movie about a fat cop in Madrid who is a hardcore fan of Athletico Madrid. He is also horny as hell apparently and ugly as hell. The film is the third in the series of movies and it's couple of years old from 2005. They had as guest stars appearing in the film Oliver Stone quite "drunk", Guillermo del Toro and also other guys like Fernando Torres, Ivan Helguera and Iker Casillas. I'm going to also watch the other two movies in the series, but I think the production values are very high in this third one and very low in the previous two. Cool, apparently there is a fourth movie in production already.

Cool, I still got your book right there on the shelf with the other comic books that I own. (Mainly Don Rosa and Steve Purcell books)

Well Cobra was as 80's awesome as I had hoped it to be.
