  1. Good Old GOG

Those three have been free all the time. Though when I tried out Beneath a Steel Sky from GoG it seemed not to perform as well as when you would load the game with the ScummVM program yourself. Or maybe I just don't remember the hot keys to smooth the graphics. This one uses the ScummVM exe to run it, even the icon in Windows is ScummVM's icon.
  2. NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits

This was a lot of fun on the Wiiware, one of the best Wiiware games out there. The Wii controls worked well in my opinion. Might concider getting the Steam version at some point. It's a game that a lot of people should try out at least, the spanish developers certainly have done a nice job with the game!

  4. Fucking PC gaming!

Hahah, well I've never remembered that Windows has the compatibility function in it these days. So thanks brkl. Surprising well it works at least in this case. I'm now looking into the slowdown thing. One solution according to the internetâ„¢ is: Here's the fix for the sync problems: - Launch the game, then immediately switch back to the windows desktop by pressing "Alt+Tab" - Right click BGE.exe then select "Set Affinity" - Uncheck everything except one (example: leave CPU 1 checked) - Download this nifty app that stops BG&E from running too fast: http://theunusualsuspect.com/software/process - Before running BG&E, you must always run this app and make sure you start it. - For the safety of your PC, make sure you shutdown "process.exe" after you finish playing BG&E as stated on the site. Actually in Steam forums they say that the main problem of this game is that with multiple core processors the game needs to be run on one core only. I think I had the same problem with Riddick before. I have to check that at home. It's really pain in the ass that Ubisoft and also Valve have not invested time to make the game work on modern PC's without it turning into a FUCKING PC GAMING situation once again.
  5. Tim hires Ron

That is the holy shit type of quality news. I hope whatever they are cooking comes to PC.
  6. Fucking PC gaming!

Cool, I tried Win XP SP3 compatibility mode and it worked. Really weird to see it up and running again. Must test more as all the menus work normally but the whole game is really slow and sluggish even though the sound works at normal speed.
  7. Cave Story

Still waiting for the European Wiiware release of Cave Story. This will be a day one perch. Also I'm thinking should I buy Super Meat Boy on Wiiware or for PC. I hope the European Wiiware release of Super Meat Boy will happen in November like the US release will. A lot is happening now that I heard that Cave Story is coming to DSi as DsiWare. I think even Knytt Stories is coming? Also one friend sent me a page that some guy has made a DS conversion of Knytt Stories. I guess you need a flash cart to play that.

Hey ThunderPeel, You should clear up your PM quota.

Milo is dead, his body is rotting in Molyneux's basement!
  11. BioShock Infinite

Have you guys noticed that these days only Chris Remo posts stuff in Irrational's webpages? I had no idea even that he had posted a 11 part (10 actual parts and a recap) of Ten Things You Should Know About BioShock Infinite. I'm beginning to feel Remo is Irrational Games now. I have to check that Giantbomb video when I get back home. This game is slowly creeping up to haunt me more and more, I just hate the name. I can't get over it. Somewhere I read that it might not be exactly two years away, more like one year and a few months unless there will be delays. Saying it comes out in 2012 is kind of wide angle, it can even come out 1st January 2012 which would not be that far away. I really like the blood spatter effect when someone shoots or hits Booker. One thing that would be cool if the guy doesn't heal automatically and super fast, I just wish that red spatter would stay in the view until the character heals himself, it just goes away now way too quickly. Like if you get hit a lot, then the whole bottom half of the screen would be red.
  12. Good Old GOG

Well, now that it's coming back, I really have to check their whole catalogue at some point. The $5,99 price point is really nice and I absolutely give huge respect for them for making more and more old games Win7 friendly. Even though Blood2 is not one of the top shooters of all time, it still is fun to play after all these years since I last played it and it works great on Win7, except when I set the resolution higher than 1024x768. The actual game works with higher resolutions but when level ends the game always crashes on higher resolutions.
  13. Game cover designs

Old 90's games had some sweet covers. Many looked like paintings instead of the quick photoshopped crap like it is these days very often. Old Lucasarts covers were cool and I have always thought that Kyrandia 1 had a great cover. Remo's example is excellent, I used to have Ultima VII Black Gate on my shelf, it was quite awesome to look at. If you didn't know what Ultima is, you would think "What the hell is this black beauty of a box, I must find out!" Ico is really unique and simply beautiful cover, but it also is a very basic example of how not to do a worldwide release for a game, they used totally different cover in US like many of you know.
  14. BioShock Infinite

Here's the long full video: H0fDEA0BFSM I believe this is the video that was showcased to selected people earlier "behind closed doors" or so?
  15. Life

Has anyone of you ever heard of a company based in London called Fraser & Fraser? Couple of my relatives got a pretty weird, but proper looking letter with folder with case number and all from this company and they were saying that a far away relative had passed away and that all heirs would need to sign a contract individually so this company would start handling the matters and in the end the recipient would get their share of the inheritance of the person who passed away. The thing is we know the person was a relative that lived in the USA, whom we have not heard in a while even when we sent her messages so it's pretty likely that she has passed away. I'm going to contact this company to ask more, but does anyone here have any idea is this company completely legit? What I found was an article from Daily Mirror that investigated this company and said that it's a so called good company, but they take 33-40% of the inheritance to themselves as "service fee". I'm just thinking that maybe it is legit company and how else would we handle this issue, it's not like we can just jump on a plane and go searching things ourselves in the US. None of my family even met the person in a long time who passed away. Last time was I guess 50 years ago so that's quite a long time ago.
  16. 3D

I have never understood 3D. I hate using the heavy glasses on my nose. They don't seem to fit at all even though I've used normal glasses for almost my whole life. It feels just like gimmick, especially at home. The 3DS is interesting because there you can at least turn it off and choose not to use it if you don't want to and you don't need to use those damn glasses in any case if you do want to try the 3D. I tried using twice a 3D tv, glasses and PS3 to play some racing game at a Bic Camera store in Yokohama and I got a headache both times after just 30 seconds of playing. I'd never pay over a thousand euros for a tv anyway anymore, I'm already enough pissed that I wasted 970 euros on a 32" Samsung 2,5 years ago that doesn't even change the channes without waiting 5-10 seconds. Also I was stupid enough not to return it to the shop in time so I could get my money back. To derail the thread even more when I called Samsung about the tv, they said that it's not a error or problem that the channel changer and EPG sucks, it's "a feature".
  17. Irrational is doing the business interviews in addition to the Irrational Behaviour. They should let Chris interview Nick, Hot Scoops, Video Games and Famous in the business interviews part!
  18. Good Old GOG

Well, GoG is not a big miss for me. I just got Beneath A Steel Sky from there at it was free, but I already had it thanks to the ScummVM freeware release of BASS and I'll soon get the BASS DC version if/when they release it in Steam. The only bought game I got from GoG was Blood 2 and it worked perfectly. So thanks GoG for that, I didn't even search yet what all kinds of games they had there. I also have the installer saved up on the hard drive so I don't need that anymore either.
  19. BioShock Infinite

http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/104&ch=3&sd=1?ep=104&ch=3&sd=1 Skip to the 14.00 mark and there's around 30 seconds of new gameplay video from Chris Remo's Icarus. Apparently next week there will be a better trailer available.
  20. Just Cause 2

http://store.eidos.co.uk/pc-windows-download/Just-Cause-2.php Just Cause 2 and some other Eidos/SquareEnix games are on sale this weekend it seems.

  22. Radiant Silvergun XBLA

Yeah, one more cool thing for Xbox Live Arcade... Shame that I don't have the machine to play it, but this is really cool that huge amounts of people get to enjoy the game finally instead of it just being a legend that nobody got to play.
  23. Epic Mickey

Euro release 25th November UK release 26th November US release 30th November YES! Finally Europe gets something before the US.
  24. Ico & Shadow of the Colossus HD

It's a shame that Saturn is too much abandoned. It had some pretty sweet games that not that many people got to experience. I predict that will change now that even Radiant Silvergun, yes the super rare game from Treasure, is making it's way to the Xbox Live Arcade or what is it called? Almost makes me want to get an Xbox, all those cool old Sega games are suddenly coming to Xbox.
