  1. Nintendo 3DS

Oh, actually the price for Europe is higher than 229,99, that's pounds. HMV UK's pricing. So rest of Europe's pricing is propably something like the good old "lets change the dollar sign to euro and nobody will notice" 249,99 euros. Yeah, I know at this point they will never fix this locking stupidity in this or future versions of 3DS.
  2. Recently completed video games

Well that solves that then. We only had Amiga 500 with the added memory module. We finally completed New Super Mario Bros Wii last week and by that I mean the first 8 worlds. We are still in progress of collecting all coins and getting all the Star Road levels opened. World 8 still missing a few coins. Awesome game, you can really piss your co-op player with moving or jumping just in the right time to steal some power up or make the other person die.

http://nsider2.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57786 Welcome to the past Nintendo, and if EU law making is to blame then that's one more thing for me to hate about EU. I ain't buying 3DS, at least not the first version, I doubt they won't learn from their mistakes in the second revision next year.
  4. Good Old GOG

So GoG released Zork and Police Quest games a few days ago. Apparently the first game has only the VGA remake available?
  5. Portal 2

Well in any case it's a really cool idea that there is cross platform possibility here, Playstation and PC gamers can play together. I think the only time I remember this happening before was Quake 3 Arena on Dreamcast and PC back in the year 2000? DC sure was a sweet gaming machine, Sega always did a lot of things first during those times that became industry standards years later.
  6. Nintendo 3DS

Alright that's just bullshit and they didn't give any cold hard facts about the region locking today. Also what the hell is up with the constant cheating of Europeans with the prices! Japan release price 25000 yen, American release price 249,99 and Europe gets it at 229,99 euros. Why we always get the most expensive price! The American price is only 185 euros with todays exchange rate damnit!
  7. Night Sky

It will take quite some time before the Wiiware version even comes out. Nicalis propably releases it first in US and then a year later in Europe as usual. But if I like the demo, which I have not yet played (), I'll get the PC version.
  8. Nintendo 3DS

Alright, I'm hoping tomorrow the events in Amsterdam and New York will give some cold hard facts about this troubling issue. I really hope it's just the shop, Nintendo can't be that stupid that they lock the whole device.
  9. Portal 2

Yeah, Valve pretty much blew everyone away with this bit of news. So Xbox will not have this feature, Sony propably paid something for this exclusivity, right?
  10. Yesterday it was announced at QuakeCon that Bethesda parent company ZeniMax has bought now Arkane Studios, the makers of Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Apparently they did some stuff with 2K Marin on Bioshock 2 also. One more developer gone to join the big boys. So boo. But on the other hand with the other yesterday's news that id tech 5 will only be licensed to ZeniMax owned companies, now Arkane, Harvey Smith & co. can start making games with id tech 5. So yay. They were working over a year ago with Valve on The Crossing, but I guess that is pretty much cancelled now?
  11. Arkane Studios bought by ZeniMax

Well, that wasn't that surprising. Don't games usually get always patched up pretty quickly also in Steam?
  12. Nintendo 3DS

How was DSi and DSi XL actually, did they only regionally lock the DSi shop or did they also lock the real game regions for DS cart games?
  13. Plain Sight

I had no idea that Plain Sight is coming to Wiiware also this year, was apparently supposed to come already last year. http://wiiware.nintendolife.com/news/2011/01/plain_sight_to_show_its_self_destructive_side_on_wiiware
  14. Golden Sun DS

Haven't played it, but I think various reviews have said it to be quite easy compared to the original two GBA Golden Sun games.
  15. Broken Sword: Director's Cut

I'm pretty sure these will turn up for PC at some point after the release.
  16. Night Sky

I downloaded the demo last week immediately when it was released, haven't had the time to test it yet. Nifflas' games are pretty sweet usually. Knytt Stories is the game I've played a lot. Saira I have not played that much actually.
  17. Broken Sword: Director's Cut

Really awesome, GoG exclusively got the original Broken Sword game from Revolution and have added it to the bonus features behind the DC version if you've bought your copy from GoG. http://www.gog.com/en/news/original_broken_sword_added_exclusively_to_gogs_director_s_cut_edition/0 I bought the trilogy they were selling during the sale last year in December and it was pretty cool when I went to check now and there it is, the original version of the game. Now I think I'll sell my boxed copies of BS1 and BS2.
  18. Arkane Studios bought by ZeniMax

Holy crap! Arkane just surprised everyone and suddenly released a patch to Arx Fatalis to fix many things and make the game playable on Vista&Win7! Arx Fatalis English v1.21 ------------------------- - Improved overall game stability under Microsoft© Windows Vista© & Windows 7©. - Fixed blinking effect that may happen when starting a new game. - Fixed HUD scaling when display resolution is higher than 1024x960. - Fixed EAX option: value is now saved when leaving the option menu. - Fixed an issue with the game locking-up when opening player inventory. - Fixed length of cinemascope bars displayed during cinematics. - Fixed some performance issues with a few Nvidia GPU (see Notes). Notes: - If you experience in game framerate drops or stuttering, please give a try to the "Enable Rendering Fix" option in the Video settings. - This patch will remain the very last Arx Fatalis update released by Arkane Studios. However, the whole source code of the game is now available for download, which means that numerous fan made updates/mods may be found around the Internet. Arkane Studios won't provide any kind of answer or support regarding community developed content. http://arkane-studios.com/uk/arx_downloads.php
  19. The Last Express

How does the original boxed CD version work with Windows 7 64bit by the way? Or should I again go out and "buy a second copy" just so it can run on my modern computer?
  20. Gemini Rue

Saw a trailer of this game a few days ago and somehow I had managed to not read this thread before. This game looks and sounds really interesting, I'm now thinking should I pre-order this to add to my gigantic backlog of games or should I just wait and play in 10 years or so when I propably will have time for it. The Beneath A Steel Sky feel is there for sure.
  21. Heh, I'm also not interested at all in playing Bioshock 2, but I would like to play Minerva's Den. Propably won't get to play it ever as none of my friends own Bioshock 2 either so I can't then make them buy Minerva's Den.
  22. Recently completed video games

I was really angry at the point when they announced James Pond 3: Operation Starfish and didn't make it to Amiga. Even though according to Wikipedia they did make it to Amiga and bunch of other platforms, what the hell? I though it was only made to Mega Drive and SNES... Why did I think as a kid that it will not be ever done to Amiga? Were the first platforms Mega Drive/SNES?
  23. Back to the Future

Still not really got into playing the game, but do you guys have similar problems ever with Telltale games? A while ago I installed BttF ep 1, Sam&Max 1x01, Wallace & Gromit 1x01, Puzzle Agent, Tales of Monkey Island ep 1 to my computer and I just started each game to set up all the graphics to max setting so when I eventually start playing I can just start them up. Last week I noticed that all files except the files for Puzzle Agent and Sam&Max had disappeared into thin air, only the installation folders were there but no files inside. This has happened to me before on Windows 7 so is this something weird happening because of Win7 or is there some poltergeist inside my computer messing things up? As this is not actually the first time this weird issue has happened and it has only happened with Telltale games. I'm 120% sure that I have not uninstalled anything by accident.
  24. Nintendo 3DS

Last Story, Xenoblade and Fatal Frame 4 sure don't seem to end up on western shores, or at least Europe. Granted, Last Story is only just about to come out in Japan and Fatal Frame apparently had some language patch and region free thing done later? Almost all my games (over 20 games during the past 4-5 years) for the DS have been bought from Canada. Only NSMB and Phoenix Wright 1 I got from Finland as EU versions.
  25. Nintendo 3DS

I'm pretty much pissed off about the region locking. I've never been a supporter of that. All people in Europe know the horrors of region locking.
