  1. Back to the Future

They are referencing the movies in many points, like the Polaroid is the same kind of incident that happened in the first movie when Marty has the picture of himself, his brother and sister. They all start to disappear bit by bit because George hasn't kissed Lorraine and so the relationship hasn't gone deeper. Also there the empty Polaroid existed and would've propably then disappeared in the end after the persons were erased. It's just a plot device to show the viewer that "oh no, he is going to disappear too soon!" But really looks like the third part will be a totally different adventure, will be interesting to see how they move the story forwards and what will be the next problem our fearless heroes mess up.
  2. Fucking PC gaming!

Well, that's a whole another story when I eventually start to play this one. I got quite a lot of other games still before this one. I'm still high because of these achievements to get older games running. I bet I get most enjoyment out of old games when I successfully get them playing on new computers, it's not the actual game that counts.
  3. Recently QUITED games

I'm probably going to burn for this, but I've not played Far Cry 2 for almost one year now. Still a loooooooooong way from completing that one. I'm not going to quit it though, I will complete it at some point when it's time will come.
  4. Fucking PC gaming!

Hahaa, I totally forgot about Dreamfall for ONE YEAR and today morning I did some investigating and found out that Aspyr Media's latest patch works with Empire Interactive's UK limited edition! I installed the game, applied the patch and deleted the dll and exe of the damn Starforce from the game folder and wawazat! It works! Five years since the game's release and now I finally managed to get the game actually working, nice nice nice. I have no idea why I did not do this investigating years before as once upon a time Dreamfall was my most wanted game. I'm already loving the fact that there's a proper widescreen support and 1920x1200 resolution support with all the anti-alisiasing and other eye candy turned to the max.
  5. Life

Yeah, I'm calling them downstairs dumbasses nerds because they are supposed to be the tech guys of our company, but every time they change something, they manage to totally mess up something important that is related to our department's work. And they get more pay than any of us do probably.
  6. Life

First time for me to go to work on Sunday at 9pm in the evening. I'm a mon-fri regular 8am to 4pm worker and this is some weird stuff indeed. The nerds are changing some stuff so I have to come to test that everything is working.
  7. (Unconfirmed)Telltale tackles.. KING'S QUEST?

A new King's Quest game that takes a reboot angle at the series. I can't really say anything about this, I own all the KQ games from the Roberta Williams Anthology, but Mask of Eternity is missing and I did own that also years ago, but got rid of it because that game just was so bad. I've never completed even one KQ game so it will be pretty interesting to see how this goes. So reboot means propably that there is no role for Roberta Williams as an advisor or something like that? Well I doubt she would be interested anyway, I believe the Williams family are sailing across the world all the time?
  8. What is the Mystery of Scoggins?

This is pretty cool, the best Telltale announcement for me out of all the gazillion announcements they made now in the recent days!
  9. Fresh Indie Game Compendium Extraordinaire

Tealy & Orangey By: Anthony Gowland (FreakyZoid at Kongregate) Available: free flash game at Kongregate Synopsis:A puzzle platform game that requires some precision moves. Guide two colored blobs through hazardous levels simultaneously. There are 20 levels in total – see if you can beat them all (don’t worry, the game saves your progress, though you should be able to complete it in under an hour).

  11. Life

Couple of years ago I think I was awake for 48 hours, that was a really weird situation that I will never want to try again.
  12. Recently completed video games

The dialogue which I didn't hear was the one where he is talking about the emergency eject mechanism.
  13. Recently completed video games

Completed Back to the Future Episode 2: Get Tannen! Gameplay time was about 2 hours or little bit less. I didn't hurry at all, and tried to listen all dialogue options. The second episode had about five clearly noticeable typos in the subtitles and there was one line from the young Doc in the park that I didn't hear any voice for, but the mouth was moving and the subtitles were visible. The lack of interactivity & items and the easiness of puzzles is quite worrying. I usually have to take my time with adventure games and really use my brain to solve the puzzles, but with BttF games I have had no such problems. With Sam&Max 1st season I have for example had much more brain challenging puzzles. Still the feeling of BttF is there and Christopher Lloyd and AJ LoCascio maintain their great voicework. The voice for Trixie is really good!
  14. Desktop Dungeons

Oh my friend showed me this about a month ago alongside with 8-bit Killer, Super Crate Box and other cool indie games. I forgot the name of this, but now I'll get it.
  15. Telltale to make Walking Dead and Fables games?

Could someone tell me what is Walking Dead and Fables about? I know about both that they are apparently comic book series and Walking Dead already has tv show up and running. What else is there to know about those?
  16. Telltale Jurassic Park

This one I'm going to just wait and see. I beginning to feel worried about Telltale QA and Jurassic Park is not hot property for me, but of course I would like to see Jeff Goldblum and Samuel L. Jackson's severed arm take a huge role in the game.
  17. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Wow, never heard of this Beck guy before, but sounds like he sure is an ass.
  18. Back to the Future

I completed the game now and I'm worried about this also. When you are expanding on new horizons and really making all the teams busy, is there any time for quality assurance and bug fixing. Especially after the product has been shipped? I was really wondering about the length of the episodes. Storywise the episodes have ok length, but with the puzzles and set pieces being on super easy level, everything just seems too easy. With Sam&Max season 1 I got some real brain exercises with some of the puzzles, but here I know exactly what, when and how to do in each situation because the the amount of interactive hotspots is really low and the amount of items ranges from 1-5. I usually have lots of brain crunching troubles with adventure games, but I breezed through both episodes in less than two hours and I tried to carefully listen to all dialogue that is possible in the games and not hurry. I saw Jake's and some other dude's name in the UI design and was it artwork in the credits. I don't think I saw Famous' name there. I was completely using WASD and mouse to just interact with characters, seriously not digging the mouse controls with the "dragging".
  19. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Social games are not very social.
  20. Hock and Sock leaves Ubisoft

Clint is not alone anymore. Frederic Markus joins LucasArts from Disney. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33062/Report_Former_Disney_Game_Design_Director_Heads_To_LucasArts.php By checking for the first time perhaps ever Clint's Twitter I noticed that they are bringing some heavy artillery to LucasArts. Apparently guys like Adam Orth and Matthias Worch are also now at LucasArts and both of these guys have a heavy FPS background. Worch used to be a FPS level designer for SiN and Unreal 2 etc. and recently was part of Visceral's team that made Dead Space 2. Are we getting ready for some Star Wars FPS or perhaps even original IP FPS?
  21. Not that much interested at first, but it's apparently also coming to PC so I'll put it down to the radar somewhere with low priority. I hope it's actual PC version and not just a port. The way the trailer is built is pretty nice, at least it's trying to be unique even though the main subject seems to be zombies.
  22. Happy Birthday!

    Happy birthday Doug and Moos!
  23. Metro 2033?

Now you have to buy a new monitor Erkki.
  24. Back to the Future

Weirdly no email notification message from Telltale, but I was kind of suspecting something yesterday. The whole site was down and forums even were giving some database error for open thread windows I had there in my Firefox. Now suddenly Get Tannen episode 2 is available. I'm about 5 minutes away from starting it, I'm wondering will Telltale ever fix the issues with the first episode or will they just push on and don't care? Also apparently the free episode is now available. EDIT: Ok, got quite far in the game in while just playing one hour, actually I almost went late to work because I was sucked in by the game and lost track of time. Shame that there are several typos again in the game. Also heard weird beeping noise twice while Still they are spelling Einstein as both Einy and Einie in various occasions. Isn't Einie the correct term used in movie subtitles? This same mistake was in the first episode also. Also young Doc's one full line of dialogue in the park is apparently missing as I saw the subtitles, and his mouth was moving, but there was no voice sound coming out. I am wondering is there really not much QA done before the final product is shipped out? However there is lots of fun stuff in this episode. I had to quit and go to work, but I'm sure going to continue this as soon as possible. There really is the feeling of BttF in the game, I'm happy that they also managed to make Hill Valley look more alive in the past. There are NPC's walking around and even cars.
  25. So will Big Bird be there for the obligatory Thumbs jokes?
