  1. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

Actually it had selected sequences in the floppy version as voiced also. For example I shall always remember Bernard's "Ahaaa! A secret passage!" from the floppy version at a friend's house ages ago. Do I remember wrongly, but I have a feeling that didn't The Longest Journey also have a dialogue log of all the dialogue in the menu.
  2. New people: Read this, say hi.

Welcome to all of you lurkers and newcomers.
  3. Rhythm Heaven Fever

I am the worst with rhythm games, but I must confess that I am going love Rhythm Heaver Fever when I get it. I have waited for the arrival of it ever since I saw the game box and some advertisements of it last year in Japanese shops. I have watched countless videos and other stuff about it and it will be one of those day 1 perch. I just wish that NoE would stop being an ass and would release the game also in Europe.
  4. Jeff Goldblum

2:48-3:06 the best part of course.
  5. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

I agree that all the voice acting in Schafer's games and also other Lucasarts games was really top quality. They really took a lot of time to find the perfect voices. And regarding the subtitles, as a teenager I always used the subtitles and the voices. English is not my native language so I really don't want to miss something or not understand it. The subtitles act as a support.
  6. Money is tight right now, but when such amazing things happen like the Double Fine Kickstarter and the Thumbs Kickstarter, I can't just stand in the sidelines. I have to help! 1024 backers now and amount going close to 70000 dollars already.
  7. Mass Effect 3

I was going to try the demo, but as it requires Origin no deal. Should someday maybe try out the first two as well. Are there existing demos for Mass Effect 1&2?
  8. idlethumbs.net

********* *****!!! That's how exciting this is! I don't know why but recently I have had a good feeling that something great is about to happen, maybe it was because of this!
  9. New Idle Thumbs Website

Heh, I have that saved up on my computer since the first time it was put on the net. Kind of creepy isn't it, but that's how it goes. We can never let this gif fade away. Why I didn't check the frontpage earlier? Now I'm way too excited. What can all this mean?!?!
  10. Recently completed video games

I finished Rage on Monday and The Doctor Who Cloned Me on Tuesday. Rage was a good game, but the engine was quite troublesome and the ending came a little bit suddenly. I was hoping for even more open world actually. Don't know how I managed to miss 16 of those collectible cards. What I really loved in Rage was the amount of easter eggs and other small things iD had put in the game. It got me smiling so much when I found for example the hidden Quake, Wolfenstein and Doom rooms. DNF DLC episode was a good addition too. I didn't want to pay the full price for that so I bought it immediately when they had a 2 euro sale a few weeks ago. The episode was around 3-5 hours long and had a lot of good stuff in it. Apparently it was all cut stuff from DNF. How can you not love the Moon? I still hate the lack of quicksaves. Such a crucial mistake in game design to have checkpoint saving because of consoles. Now I'm in the middle of Beyond Good & Evil (Such a great game) and after that Psychonauts replay after six years since the first and only time I got to enjoy the awesome game.
  11. The Walking Dead

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-15-the-walking-dead-screenshots-shamble-in Had to skip the comic book parts of the video, as I have never read the comic. I have watched all the episodes so far of the tv series. I wonder how many "podcast" episodes they are going for and why is AJ hanging around Telltale offices all the time now? This is The Idle Thumbs Podcast Telltale spinoff. Hopefully the game is not all about QTE as apparently the Jurassic Park game was, that just turned me off and I didn't buy that series even with a discount. Ahh ok, there's also this: http://www.telltalegames.com/community/blogs/id-947
  12. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I've been mostly listening to the new Van Halen album for the past week. The first song Tattoo was weak, but it's all great after that. I had my doubts regarding the fat kid, but his handling his part quite well actually. DLR is legend and that's a fact. I had a laugh when I saw an article that somebody made regarding the album cover of Van Halen's album, it's straight copy from Commodore's 70's album cover.
  13. Gifts - Stuff for Free

Nappi, do you still have that Dreamfall+TLJ available? I have those as physical discs, but it would be quite neat to have those in Steam also.
  14. Fund Tim Schafer's next game YOURSELF!

1,2 million dollars in 28 hours time! Damn you gamers, you are all incredibly awesome. The best day in the whole era of internet was yesterday. But on a serious note, where's Chris Remo? If I read right, it was Notch who put the 10000 dollars on the project and said he would've put more but that's the top limit for Kickstart donation. He also apparently said he won't be the one going on office tour and the DATE with the two hunks.
  15. Psychonauts on Steam

One hour ago that I checked the project was at $160000, in hour it leaped to $200000 and some rich awesome contributor put over $10000 on the line and gets to go on a DATE with Tim and Ron etc. I wish I was rich and had a lot of extra money laying around, I would put 100 dollars immediately on the project. As is, I have to settle for less. Also, that Double Fine Tim Schafer video at the project page is so damn hilarious.
  16. Psychonauts on Steam

OMFG! This is the day when the internet truly became something wonderful. Fuck yes! Has someone checked that Remo didn't get a heart attack already? This thing has happen. I'll be putting my money on the line today immediately. Already half of the budget gathered in less than a day. I love internet and game fans.
  17. General Video Game Deals Thread

Now that's an awesome bundle. I have most on PC, but I could actually put some money on the line for the Android versions just for fun. I'll donate the Steam keys to a poor unemployed buddy of mine.
  18. The best news in I've heard in a while when I read it in the GoG interview. But, a true LBA3 is hopefully also in the pipeline for the future, that is the one I want the most from Raynal & co., but remake is a good start.
  19. Oscars

Weeeeell. Now this is a weird year. I didn't see any of the movies that are in Best Picture, Best Actor or Best Actress categories as nominees. Haha, the only nominee in all of the categories that I actually have seen so far is Rango. Weak year... Anyways, this year I will have to watch the Oscars show live again after a few years of not watching it live. Just because Billy Crystal is hosting it this year.
  20. Goty.cx 2011

Goty.cx by the Thumbs crew  My personal Goty.cx was by far Portal 2. I just had so much fun with that game, I'm even having more fun with it now as I'm currently playing the hilarious co-op for the first time with a friend. Don't really have any idea why we didn't already play it during last summer, why wait so long when it is just. So. Darn. Great.
  21. Nintendo 3DS

I am really close to going all in and buying the 3DS. I tested the RE:Revelations demo with a friend's 3DS and it was great. Also I got my first taste of Super Mario 3D Land and it was just pure, pure fun. Before my next trip to the magical land of Japan in May, I will buy a 3DS. Yes, that is starting to look clear now.
  22. Id's Rage

Still playing the game, I changed to Nvidia card at some point at the end of last year. At least all the graphical errors went away. One thing that annoys me that now that I actually tried to hunt some achievements, then either Steam or Rage is a piece of shit. I finally managed to hunt the dice minigame and got four crosshairs after hundreds of plays. Then I heard a ding sound, but no achievement was unlocked. Unless there are more races coming I also got all the races done now with 1st place in each, but no achievement came from those either. EDIT: Ok, there was a whole big part of Wasteland still not seen. More races I suppose.
  23. Do any of you live in Iceland?

Norway is really expensive yeah, but Tromsø was awesome. I enjoyed every second of my stay there. We had bad luck that the weather was kind of gray and cloudy all the time, but right after we left the sky had apparently been full of huge green Northern Lights. So sucks to be us I guess. Oh yeah and I liked the beer. We went to the brewery pub and I bought beer with me from Tromsø from that brewery and brought it all the way back to my hometown while drinking one can per location that we stopped on the way.
  24. Alan Wake

Yes, it was originally a huge open Twin Peaks world with no Max Payne like levels and such. They scaled it down a lot due to unknown reasons and as I understood the levels are very linear?
  25. Fuck Steve, grats Steve 3.

Have I missed something or are all the old Idle Thumbs podcast eps coming to Youtube now or something?
