Most likely it was that one. I really can't remember. I was looking screenshots of the Spy Fox games recently and couldn't remember which one it was. By the way, does anyone remember what was the kids adventure game some Ron's later company made after Humoungous/Cavedog went down. I remember some business partner having some shady business or something in that later company?

I once got a demo cd of one Spy Fox game with some cereals like 10 years ago. I have no idea why that demo cd was there, but demo was great however.

My first gaming machine was my brother's Commodore Vic-20. It's actually still the only machine that I have still kept safe in the closet archives through all these years. Haven't played with it in 20 years so I hope it still works actually. Later we got Commodore 128 that didn't have almost any games, but it had a secret code or something to change it to emulate Commodore 64 and then all the sweet games worked again. After the 128 got sold, my brother got the best gaming device I have ever experienced and that was Commodore Amiga 500. The PC era just hasn't felt the same since Turrican 2, Rick Dangerous, Stunt Car Racer and bunch of other incredible gaming experiences. We had a really amazing mega retro event recently a few weeks ago at the university with around 30 old tv sets and bunch of old computers and consoles from various eras. They are aiming to have it twice per year and it was the third time now. I recently joined the group arranging that and they do have smaller meetings once every two weeks.

So now they reached 2,1 million during the night.

It is worth even more than 30 euros. Really great game and I'm super happy they made it on all possible modern platforms so everybody can get to enjoy it.

Works also as the actual video: UApyd20yK5s I remember that episode, one of the best "Secrets" bits.

Hmm, there was still recently some leaked video of the high resolution version of Epic Mickey 2 in Youtube. Now I can't seem to find it, it was more like just some beta running around clip, but clearly from the second game as all the mechanics where there. However there is now a clip of the Wii version: DLlk-mvVt5E It actually had most of the same scenes as this Wii video. Damn I just wish they would make it for WiiU instead of Wii.

Sorry guys, you've already probably seen the gorgeous pics etc elsewhere on your own, but here's some fresh details! http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-04-04-epic-mickey-power-of-illusion-details-revealed Lots of screenshots: http://www.nintendolife.com/games/3ds/disney_epic_mickey_power_of_illusion Here are some 3DS details that were in the Nintendo Power article: http://ds.about.com/b/2012/03/26/epic-mickey-power-of-illusion-preview-courtesy-of-nintendo-power.htm The witch from Snow white is the main villain again There will be worlds from all eras of Disney, From Peter Pan to Tangled Scrooge Mcduck is in the game Characters you 'save' will appear in a fort of sort that acts as a HUB when you progress on, like Scrooge McDuck or Peter Pan will be in it and decorate the fort. Oswald will be in it along with Minnie Also Spector has been talking a lot recently about the main console game, I get the feeling of over hyped again just like with the first one. He has been talking especially a lot of defending the musical aspect of the game. There's no need to defend, I'm sure it will be fine unless they make the game full of cutscenes every five minutes. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-04-04-epic-mickey-2-spector-explains-why-wii-is-lead-platform

There are multiple screenshots lurking in the net. all bad quality scans from the Nintendo Power magazine. It's looking really great based on those pics. I can't give any links now, maybe later.

Damn, I wish Minerva's den was a standalone episode. I dont want Bioshock 2, but I really would like to play the Hot Scoops dlc.

So no talk about the game in over a month? they've released three talk episodes and two q&a sessions in Youtube and also the debut trailer for the game. some guy also leaked gameplay trailer in Youtube showing something like first 10 minutes of the game. Telltale has since removed that video I believe? I have some mixed feelings, I like the music, the graphics look also pretty good and the choice of the art design is quite well suiting this game. the cursor reminds me a lot about Lucasarts later versions in their adventure games, looks clunky with a controller that is clearly used in the gameplay videos, but that will be great for PC. but seems there are also qte events, hopefully there won't be more than 1-2 per episode. One of my fears is that every walker encounter is a qte wazazat. Also looks weird that the dialogue sequence is timed also. I wonder what happens if you fail to choose a dialogue option before the white line runs out. at least it's looking a lot better than jurassic park.

http://gamasutra.com/view/news/167289/Rovio_acquires_Shattered_Horizon_dev_Futuremark_Games.php http://gamasutra.com/view/news/167302/Futuremark_retaining_game_rights_following_Rovio_acquisition.php Jeez, they really are expanding. Now they got the awesome guys of Futuremark Game Studio to join Rovio's ranks. There are some super talented guys in that studio like the guy who made Wings and Wings 2 "cave flying" games. They also have several top guys from all around like Petri Järvilehto the former boss at Remedy and several Bugbear guys who have driving sim knowledge under their belt. I can't even imagine what they are creating right now, I know they have several non Angry Birds projects going on, but what the hell could those be? If my calculations are correct, Rovio has over 400 people working there in Espoo right now and soon in Tampere more.

So, it looks like Sega is finally getting it right with Sonic? What are the Thumbs opinions on this? I know there's some die hard Sega fans here. I'm very excited about this project even though after NSMB it looks to be copying the 2d feel from there, but I don't care as long as the game finally feels like something classic that Sonic 1-3 and Sonic & Knuckles had. I did not like Sonic Rush and the GBA Sonic games that much, I've always disliked the extra characters in the series that they created. Only Sonic, Robotnik, Tails and Knuckles have really worked in my opinion. Also the wrong turn was to make the characters talk, especially with the highly annoying voices. It just felt very cheap every time I heard the voices. In addition Sonic & Knuckles is coming to European Virtual Console this friday so I'm quite hyped about that also. It's nice that Sega decided to put Sonic 4 out on all consoles as the only one I have is the Wii, I was a bit afraid that it will only be made to Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. The episode concept I haven't heard much about, but I would think that means price per each episode is max 10 euros/dollars/pounds. Of course full game would be nice, but I have to see how this episodes concept will work.

Alright, I better not be a jackass. I'll support my countrymen and also get it directly from the devs.
-
Weird, I thought we had a thread about this, but seems not. Yeah I've been following this project. From the bunch of old Remedy developers who made a new company. This might be really good, I'm looking for a Steam purchase most likely.
-
yes yes yes! awesome! So it's exactly like I hoped it would be! EDIT: Now I know why they did this last autumn, it all starts to make sense now. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/10/05/disney-trademarks-castle-of-illusion-but-m-i-c-k-e-why/

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-26-spector-desperate-to-port-epic-mickey-1-to-ps3-360 Spector wants the first one to come to xbox and ps3 also. Wasn't it supposed to come to those originally anyway? I started thinking more about the 3ds version. Maybe they will make it in beautiful 2d because the team's previous works are all or mostly great looking 2d games.
-
That sounds horrible, real ass business practises. The 3DS developer Dreamrift has made only DS game Monster Tale, which wasn't released in Europe at all. The team is the former EA Hatsworth team that made Henry Hatsworth so my interest in the 3DS version is considerably higher now!
-
Also the rumoured 3DS game is now confirmed. It might be not just a port, but an actual different Epic Mickey game. At least title is different and I get a great Sega Mega Drive wibe out of it. Dreamrift is the developer of the 3DS version. Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion Cover of latest Nintendo Power: Article sneak peek from Nintendo Power webpage:

Maximum disappointment confirmed - Prey gets a sequel
Kolzig replied to Kolzig's topic in Video Gaming
Heh, I think the title of the thread won't change even if I change the title in the first post. I don't know if vBulletin even allows that, but at least not here at Thumbs. Here we stick by the first thread title. -
GDC 2011: The Idle Thumbs Conf Grenade: Games Kasavin
Kolzig replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Or maybe a merger would solve it.http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/166431/Telltales_Dan_Connors_talks_a_new_kind_of_freemium.php This of course would not be that great, because Telltale would lose their freedom and in the end Disney would just fire people like big companies do to make profit. -
So now they announced Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Junction Point and Warren Spector are still behind it, but for some really weird reason they are doing the Wii version instead of a Wii U version. I don't understand why they don't make this a launch title for Wii U? Blitz Games are doing the PS3 and Xbox360 ports. Interesting decisions. Here's the first trailer: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-23-ps3-epic-mickey-2-supports-move Here's some screenshots: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-23-first-epic-mickey-2-screenshots-revealed

Maximum disappointment confirmed - Prey gets a sequel
Kolzig replied to Kolzig's topic in Video Gaming
And then the Prey got axed, maybe. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/167202/Bethesda_tightlipped_on_possible_Prey_2_cancellation.php http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-23-prey-2-cancelled-report It seems to share the same fate as the first part, that also got cancelled after years of development back in the day. Maybe someday it will return again in the hands of another developer. Does Bethesda/Zenimax own Human Head or are they just a publisher? -
How come we didn't yet have a thread about this game? http://projectzomboid.com/blog/ Looks really awesome from Indie developers The Indie Stone. Here's a 15 minute gameplay vid. http://www.gamestar.de/index.cfm?pid=1589&pk=18681 They've taken the idea from Minecraft etc that you can pre-order the game now for £5 (about $8/6€). This gets you access to a playable alpha version which will be updated as development progresses just like Thumbs favourite Minecraft! Also the pre-alpha demo is now available officially for download as some jackasses put the game's test version to pirate websites so they released now officially a pre-alpha tech demo version.

I didn't see the earlier discussion about the subject so sorry if I stuck a stick in to the ant nest, but that o&t fact stopped me of enjoying the movie. It was a heart warming movie plotwise, but my eyes hurt for most of the movie. So I'll end my part on Hugo discussion now. I have problems with Lotr:Fotr these days also because the Prancing Pony scene looks like overdone crap because of the heavy orange use. i didn't notice it ten years ago, but it just sticks out too much.
