  2. Xbox2

    Probably something rubbish like Xenon
  3. Where's the DS love?

I have my DS now too and I'm also loving it. I've been so busy playing Wario Ware and Project Rub though that I completely forgot about the Metroid demo. I'll give it a go in a bit though, I'll claim I'm having a screen break
  4. Where's the DS love?

I agree, I'm trying to put across the point that I've never been a Nintendo fanboy. The DS hasn't delivered the games? You haven't really given it much time to though have you? I never expect any games device to deliver brilliant games in the month that it's released. Again I don't disagree that this was just given to everyone that didn't ask for it and developers aren't completely sure what they can do with it. Maybe this is why it hasn't delivered the games YET. But it might be the case that because devs don't know what exactly they can do with it, they'll try out some things and maybe discover that they can do great things with it. I reckon it will at least get people thinking a little harder than currently seems to be the case. EDIT: The thing that winds me up the most about the whole debate is that it's not simply 'The DS isn't quite as good as the fanboys make out'. It seems that the DS is being put down as something that isn't very good at all. EDIT EDIT: The DS is the Dreamcast of handelds and everyone knows the Dreamcast is awesome
  5. Where's the DS love?

I never had a GBA or an SP, I don't have a Game Cube and I'm not that great a Nintendo fan. I really do think the DS is a very good device and will be a good influence on the games industry. All I'm getting from you is that you initially decided that you weren't going to like the DS and found some arguments to back your decision up.
  6. Where's the DS love?

You're absolutely right. It's the games I'm interested in though, the DS is encouraging developers to come up with something a little different. Anyway you look at it, that's a good thing. Also I think you're missing the point that this is a handheld device. I think using the touch screen, mic and two screens will keep me massively entertained in the situations I'm going to be using the thing. I can play the types of games that will be released on the PSP at home with a big tv screen. I can't do that with the types of games I hope to see on the DS, and I don't know if I'd even want to.
  7. Where's the DS love?

loonyboi, I can't describe how wrong I think you are. Nintendo have designed something new and original, so what if no one asked for it? I reckon the DS will do wonders for the future of gaming, everything else simply promises better graphics and more online stuff. Well whoop dee fucking doo! I'm so fucking bored of playing the same game with better graphics and a 3 at the end of the title. As for online stuff, I'll use my PC for that cheers. It was said about the XBox2 that it will have the capability to download new maps etc for games and that this would be the future of gaming. WHAT!? Great future there then. I don't know what the fuck you're talking about with your comment about developers either. The DS simply gives developers a ton of new opertunities when thinking about game design and gameplay aspects. Like JTF said, lots of genres will work well with the DS. RTS using the stylus to circle a unit and give them orders, Adventure games such using one screen for the inventory. Christ what's wrong with you man? You really can't see the possabilities? You don't give two shits about fun and interesting gameplay? You just want what you've already got with better graphics and the chance to download a new level? It's about time someone made any kind of effort to take things in a different direction. The DS isn't a joke, you are.
  8. Where's the DS love?

I'll be picking it up before I go into work, another guy is getting one this evening plus my boss has one already so I expect lunch will be spent messing about with them. Everyone knows that I can't be expected to wait until after work to pick it up hehe. The nice thing about getting the pre order from game was that I got a leaflet of money off vouchers so when I go and buy the necessary things such as screen protectors etc. I will be able to get them cheap
  9. Where's the DS love?

Well I just went into the store nearest my work and pre ordered my DS plus project rub and wario ware. I pick them up tomorrow. I can't really afford it but I got worked up about getting one this morning and ecided it would probably be for the best. My train journeys next week will probably go alot quicker
  10. Whoa.

Nice, the rockets are too slow though, the poor bot couldn't hit me with them
  11. Where's the DS love?

The psp is the chav's handheld
  12. Does anyone play Doom or Doom 2 anymore?

System Shock 2 coop is superb! Why don't games have coop anymore?
  13. Where's the DS love?

I pretty much have my mind set on getting a DS now. The potential for some original games to come along is too great. Screw the PSP, yes it has a nice big screen and can play films blah blah. I don't really care, I'm after a gaming device more than a multimedia tool. I hope they do a good sonic DS game. Something that isn't simply masturbating the screen to make sonic run fast enough.
  14. i want rose online bots or ryl

Main Entry: doppelganger Definition: alter ego Etymology: German doppel `double' + ganger `goer' Also... "dop·pel·gäng·er or dop·pel·gang·er n. A ghostly double of a living person, especially one that haunts its fleshly counterpart." But that's not what I meant.
  15. european gamer afraid of cooties?

Christ that nausicaa poster is shite, just wtf were they thinking? I tell you one name change that I approve of and really honestly prefere... Dr. Robotnik , I mean Eggman? C'mon.
  16. Seen any good movies lately?

well I just saw saw It was pretty rubbish, I thought the acting was atrocious and there wasn't even much gore to try and redeem it in any way. There was one or two very short moments that were quite good, the very end was ok. All in all I wouldn't recomend it.
  17. Electroplankton

You know I must have clicked that bubble about three times before, why did I get no video those times? Edit: Yes, good though
  18. carousel of the dead animal

Well that was a bit rubbish really wasn't it... Anything done using that terrible text to speech converter just shouldn't be listened to.
  19. Electroplankton

I do really like the look of Another Code. I can easily see myself playing that on the train each morning, and probably getting to engrossed to remember to get off and go to work.
  20. Electroplankton

    What video?
  21. Electroplankton

Yep, DS definately has a lot of ptential. Maybe an RTS game could work for the DS? Using the stylus to circle a unit and then click where you want it to move and so on. I think I will definately be getting a DS from what I've seen.
  22. Seen any good movies lately?

Just watched I Heart Huckabees and thought it was quite good. Made me laugh anyhows. Next on my list are... Saw The Brown Bunny The Forgotten The Aviator
  23. Tra la la, what a beautiful day!

A likely story mademoiselle, and I suppose your laptop also has no way to connect to the interweb?
  24. Tra la la, what a beautiful day!

  25. Seeing as don't really speak french I thought I'd pop this into a tranlator. "Please Miss, left me have candies! Oh what a beautiful candies they are! They color- are coordinated with your equipment, and I find this completely pleasant. You are an old man dinosaur, a relic of an ancient age! Stage on side, Miss, you do not order any more candies! Yes yes I want these beautiful candies, OH that they look at so delicious! Which beautiful small sugar refineries. I will tear out of your spine and hop in top and bottom on top with my small shoes of schoolgirl and will then coat your optic nerves out of chocolate and will then appreciate them like sugar refineries! Your expiration date arrived, Miss! If you please, give me candies!" Good stuff then
