What manner of canned worms have you opened here, Moos?

Broken Flowers was awesome. You people have no taste. Jim Jarmusch is the shits.

Classic Videogame characters: Should they keep their trap shut?

He should be cracking one-liners like Duke Nukem. He should outnuke the... uh... Dukem... eh... -
And cooking. And cleaning. And head. And shopping.

It is not the extra power that I have a problem with, it is the accompanying need to use it all up which is driving up the cost of creating games exponentially and extending the production cycles. In addition to obvious increases in power and purtiness through the generations, we've always had a shift in the way games are controlled. Every subsequent controller from one generation to the next made for a more refined interaction with the game. For a while it seemed that this wasn't gonna happen in this generation as 360's controller turned out to be the standard Xbox controller that's been slightly Playstation2ified and PS3's controller was for a long time a bananified Dual Shock and has recently started to reek of eleventh hour panic. If all that the next generation offers is the same shit we've had before only shinier, bloomier and with better lens flairs, we're kinda fucked. Hence, I am more excited about the Wii than I ever was by a console. being as I am a primarily PC-centric gamer.

This game is mind-numbing pain made flesh. Fun premise, horrendous execution.

Why BG&E failed - written by an UbiSoft PR employee

It's a nice article. -
From Hellboy to a picture of some orgiastic lewdness (PORN I SAY!) in the grass. You used to be so wholesome :oldman: ...

Wii is such a whore. That is the main problem with both the Mac ads and this one, that I get to appreciate the guy that is being lampooned more than the guy who is supposed to be cool. My idea of cool is neither a snooty selfrighteous punk nor a stripper, apparently.

I really hated Magnolia and loved Crash. I hated Traffic and in general I really dislike the movies with a million characters and random love dodecagons. However, the racism in Crash didn't really bother me on the same level that the sanctimonious Drugs R Bad MMkay while the white man's the devil message of Traffic did, possibly because the racism in Crash just is and is never really given weight in and of itself. Crash was made out of racism, whereas Traffic is made as a pedestal for drugs, if that makes any sense... and Magnolia is just an emo mess that thinks it has more going for it than it actually does.

It seems I am the only decent person here.

I could be completely insane, but I see very little difference between this and any and all conversations Socrates had with his friends.

I second Moos's ass sucking comment. Settlers of Catan, however, is an amazing board game. You know, usually board games are just meant to get people together and help them pass the time, but this one is actually great fun to play. It is the lovechild of chess and Civilisation.

Keep your filthy thumbs off the Chris Remo Shack™! He's worth more there than here, plus he gets paid for it. I think Jake, Chris and Marek could make a * podcast. *) imagine that last emoticon is Marek playing Eye Toy. I seem to have never saved that little gif, and it has since fallen off the internet.

Shacknews has basically been turned into CHRIS REMO TALKS GAMES (with maybe some items from that one Dutch guy and some articles from that illiterate dude)
-
It's basically the flipside of the same coin.

I only read Eurogamer, the Shack and Gamasutra nowadays. I visit the Thumb because of habit since the clever editorialized news are practically nowhere to be found.

Here's another movie by the same dude, this one has some "actual acting": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev9SY2hxIr0

You're an animator, man. If you're good and patient and clever and observant you can imbibe just about anything with personality.

These are two of the dude's short movies that impressed the right people apparently: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1185812222812358837 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6104543600072426821 They're kinda neat.

I never did. ;( Not for lack of trying. I just managed never to catch sight of him at that e3... and now that there is no e3, I never will meet him.

I hope Master Chief moonlights as a Chef. A Master Chef.

Alternatively you can just assume that you're not treated to the same pearls of Godly wisdom from a the Tim the rest of us are privy to.

The new game probably has some superficial similarities to Tim Burton's stuff... Alternatively (more likely) it could be a jab at that little moron who keeps saying that Tim Burton is working on a Grim Fandango movie.
