Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

Maybe we can reset the server again with monsters and middle-of-the-road survival when Beta proper begins? :tup:s, :tdown:s ? -
I am always very surprised when someone here turns out to be a wee one.

I though it was kindof boring, Scrapland. I wanted to like it. I played it forever and the game never seemed to actually get started. So I abandoned it. Also, @TimOfLegend doesn't want to refuse to not confirm that anything DF is coming to the PC. So make of that what you will.

Well, I am looking forward to it even more now. I really enjoyed the first one.

I just finished the first one, closed it and the news of the second one popped up. Fun times.

So... do we want to start another world sometime soon? -
I read the first three in a single weekend, in Serbian (for some reason). As I read it I kept thinking to myself how I would write it were it in English, and imagining how good that could be if it weren't a relatively flat translation. And then I read the fourth book in English and realized that, no, the translations were spot on and the language is just not very well crafted. It is all just very straightforward, not nearly as playful as I like my language to be. I have not read any of the subsequent books or watched any of the movies past the fourth one. I really enjoyed Alfonso Cuarón's take on the third book the most of all the Harry Potter films I've seen.

The books are just horribly written. The language is cheap and uninteresting.

We're keeping them in place because they brighten ThunderPeel's day.

Awesome TED Talks (and similar enlightening lectures)

Most of those students speaking up sound kindof airheaded. How did they get into Harvard? -
Because... um... google... and... fuck spambots. If you leave spam links in place, that means terrorists have won.
-
Ack, strip the links, guys!

Or at the very least, the pro-survival camp is the more passionate one—and the other one is afraid of the dark. -

Nonsense. If it is too troublesome to build in a wilderness, then you deal with it. That is the part of the fun and what adds to the impressiveness of whatever you finish. Goddamn. I thought I was a pansy scaredy gamer, but you guys take the fucking cake. What is all this shit? :( :( Plus the logistics of shuffling servers arbitrarily are aRRGHHGkjsahdfhjklsd NO! BAD THUMBS! BAD! -
As a person of the internet, you are obliged to refer to this game as "COD BLOPS".

I think you're way wrong. The first settlements would be super utilitarian, but then as we build fancier and fancier mines, we would get the opportunity to build fancier and fancier things above ground. And those fancy things would be super impressive, since they're legit. I am a bit bored by the lego with no consequences play. We've all built all kinds of obvious crazy shit. Now we have to up the ante, do it without cheating and without invincibility. -
Good to know you weren't on any of the flights that lost engines and had to emergency-land in Singapore in the last couple of weeks.

All of the ideas that I have are predicated on less broken mining, less resource duping, etc. Plus the current world is not particularly exciting to me for whatever reason. -
WUXTRY!! From the people that brought you "LISA"…
-
Actually, it is only borked in cut scenes, so it is not that bad.

This. -
True, but as an exercise, I wonder what an open world game where you don't mow down millions, even in your car, would be like. I guess Bully came close, but you don't really get to drive much in that game. That game didn't really click with me.
-
I wonder if it would be possible to make an open world game where there isn't any collateral damage. You have a car and you have a city: I would imagine some missions would be impossible without at least a few people getting run over. Maybe if it is more RPGy than actiony?

It's starting to look like a triple ghost.
