I have been kidding for a while now. I thought this was a game. I think you may have been misinterpreting my tone from the getgo. I am curious to see how this plays out. I would also maybe like to see if you guys can get a deformable mesh for Glottis and the pneumatic tube repairman and the rest of the fleshy peeps.

Wanna try doing something with the Hobo Lobo harmonica track? http://hobolobo.net/sounds/loboHarmonicaProcessed.mp3 I keep thinking it might be great mixed with something from the Twin Peaks soundtrack, or Coil's Teenage Lightning, or something violin-y. -
Yeah, I guess the only thing you can do now is cut your losses and abort the project. I'm so sorry it had to come to this, but we all knew it was going to come to this, it just had to come to this.

Is Red Dwarf any good, as an investment of time?

Heh. I dunno, I was hoping for some more sophisticated NPCs or something, who offer fetch and build quests of sorts. -
So Sal Limones and myself are going to Ye Olde Countree for three weeks. We're flying out Monday and hopping through Amsterdam on way to Belgrade. Anything interesting one can do at the Amsterdam airport or thereabouts for an hour or so between flights?

Is there any coverage of this out there already? I'm curious. -
It is totally hacky and ad-hoc. But it doesn't need to be a jquery plugin. I don't know if it would be a worthwhile waste of my time, frankly.

I FEEL PERSECUTED BY YOUR SARCASM. In other shit plugging news, I wrote a tutorial/article on the Parallaxer platform for Net Magazine a few days ago.

I'm just going to join everyone here in praising Anchorman. I walked out of the theater when I first saw it with something resembling a revelation, as if I had seen something completely new. There has been a fair number of somewhat similar comedies since Anchorman, so maybe its novelty has worn off a bit.

You should make that your avatar.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Rise of the Planet of the Apes *. It manages to strike a kind of happy place between an earnest sci-fi film (like Gattaca or Moon), a cheesy retro cliché romp (like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) and a trippy surrealist adventure film (The New World meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Avatar—for better or for worse). * Tups represent semi-binary** reviews of adjacent movies. ** Semibinary™ .

Special Muffins, eh, capitalized and everything. I am curious about your recipe. :shifty: :shifty:

I was under the impression most of that was tongue in cheek, but maybe the dude is really aspergy.

Haha, this is totally rad.

I guess no one on this planet cares to give us a short version of it?

It is not the nature of Bethesda RPGdom to put invisible walls in the bushes and make objects not jumpable-upon. If they did that for some reason, there would be angry mobs in the streets of Rockville. The primary reason I hated all Bioware games (save for the old top-down ones for which no jumping actually made sense) is the world comprised of corridors and short ledges that cannot be jumped down. Ultimately, I prefer to explore worlds in my RPGs rather than roleplay fantasy douchebags. Bethesda has been effectively scratching that itch better than all competition for fifteen years now. Anyone remember Redguard? That was a weird game. It was impossible to make it run when it came out, how buggy it was. It was a kind of fusion between an adventure game and an RPG, leaning more heavily on the AG side of the scale. And it was a lot of fun.

Can I have a TL;DR on that?

Didn't Erik Wolpaw work at Double Fine before joining Valve?

I would personally prefer either Morrowind 3 or Fallout With Wizards. Oblivion was somewhat of a disappointment.

Jesus, it's Blink182, what did you expect? Tepid and forgettable is their milieu.

Good god, I just noticed there are riots in England. What is that all about, how did I miss three days of riots? Also can you export some of that?

Speedy, it seems like a lot of your worries in this thread are about school. I wish I had the ability to transplant my insight with ten years hindsight and just plop it into your head. It is sometimes sickening how irrelevant school success is to success later in life. All of those successful people you see around you are maniacs and failed plenty of times in schooling only to get where they are because of who they knew, how rich they are or because their internal drive got them to get up and push again. What is the worse that can fucking happen if you don't get into the university? Go bum around Europe for a year or something, get a job doing something tangentially related to your field of choice and try again next year. A lot of the things we freak out over in relation to school are utterly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
